@worstcsplayer Yeah, if you look closely, he tries at about 2:30. The problem is that Akuma's two hit fireballs have a charge time, which makes them very easy to see coming or, as happens at that point, punish.

@omfgacceptmyname Daigo was watching Sanford's inputs on his stick. It's very simple, and only works in offline. You do the quarter-circle motion for a fireball, but instead of hitting punch, you do kick. Sanford did the fireball motion with short (light kick), which baited Daigo, because he saw a fireball motion, and immediately did the ultra.

Well if you're a decent player you have to watch your meter. And if you play regularly and have a main character, you'll just eventually learn and get used to what moves build meter and how much you get etc. It's nothing amazing in my opinion. What's amazing about the pro's is their execution... it's insane. Me I struggle to get combos and links down. Them, one opening and it's all over.

@hazeddon It was a strategic (yet very risky) demon setup, JR Rodriguez does it all the time, basically you can jump back/neutral jump/jump forward and press any button to sorta fake a missed button or move, then buffer the demon in the air and hit the last button as soon as you hit the ground, basically it'll fool your opponent into thinking they have a free throw or sweep or something, then the demon goes through the move they do, but it depended if Daigo hit a button, or he coulda just jumped

In that round it probably didn't make a difference but it's not a good idea because raging demon adds to many hits. Thus meaning it would give him more super meter but since he was almost full there didn't really make a difference. Probably a habit of pro players not to give any advantage to your opponent even a psychological edge still not a good idea. Just makes you look worst when you lose anyways. You probably know the feeling of that.
