just your bog standard Windows Movie Maker

i tried to post a video on youtube using windows movie maker, but it said it couldnt convert the video, any tips?

All I can think of is when you finish the video, you have to choose publish movie, not save project, then choose computer, this should leave you with a .wmv file which you can then upload to youtube
