Great thing about the 13" Macbook Pro is that it is VERY portable, yet powerful. If you need a larger screen you can always attach an external display as needed. That's the way I work and love it.
Hay Guys If you like free stuff then lockerz(.)com is for you to sign up the site requires to be invited so let me invite you PM me your E-MAIL please!
@FullSolo If you or your parents are fairly wealthy then yes. If you consider pursuing a degree in some media design/production then yes. If you aren't than a PC with the economic yet fast Atom processor will work great. Web browsing, downloads, streaming, and school work will work on that.
And for gaming, a PC is far more scalable than a Mac. more customizable.
@montyladd Only area of concern for using this model in a DJ environment would be the size of the hard drive. I suggest installing a 500Gb model or larger. One other option is to use an external drive to store your music. I film a lot of video and store it all on an external drive, along with photographs.
I believe the Core 2 Duo is extremely underrated. A Core 2 Duo running at, at least, 2.0 GHz will be more than goon for most people. Although Flash will do a big number on any processor, besides that I think a 2.26 GHz dual core would be fantastic (I have the 2.53 GHz option btw).
Hey im thinking about getting a macbook pro. And i was just wondering because apple usually updates their laptops around end of jan or feb. And i wanted to know if after the new models come out, will you still be able to purchase the old ones?
It should be unless you will constantly edit photos or videos. But if your just going to do word processing while having a film running or listening to music or something like that then it should be fine.
My computer froze so I skipped to 6:12 and my dad was like what is this? "I put my hand down there from time to time to see how much heat it produces" lol But this is an awesome review, I wanna buy one in the near future.
I've got the choice between a stupidly powerful 17" dell with 4gb RAM and a quad core processor or this. I don't know which to choose, I mainly use my current laptop for things like msn and web browsing and school work. However I occasionally use Adobe CS4 programs. Any advice?
well the dell should do the work, also those specs will let you pc to run for about 3-4 years. but if you want to relax and have no virus problems, and crashes now and then, go for the macbook pro. the macbook should do the work, but it may last for 2-3 years.
im a programmer, and sometimes i work with graphics particularly photoshoping. my question is, what is better to get ? macbook, macbook pro 15 or macbook 13 ???
I wouldn't consider myself an expert on this but it doesn't sound like you are wanting to do anything terribly demanding so I would say that either a macbook or any of the pros would be perfectly suitable.
The 17" does have the best performance (obviously) but it doesn't sound like you really need that much power.

If you're mainly into Graphic Design, DJ'ing, Music/Video Production then the Mac is for you..
HOWEVER, if you are a gamer, or maybe a computer literate IT person working for a firm or even contracting than the PC is the way to go, hands down.
MAC= fashion/media trend
PC= Intellectual scalable computing experience
