Is the clutch realllllly stiff on your 1.1 or was it if you dont have it anymore. mines soo tough compared to other cares. My left leg will end up building more muscle then the right at this rate.
@Rampagedd Sadly I dont have this car any more and from what I can remember the clutch was not heavy in it at all, but I guess by todays modern cars with hydraulic clutch slave cylinders etc it would feel pretty heavy. I now drive an Astra diesel and that isnt heavy at all! I think its about the same as my (this) old 1.1
@Ryze115 I think it was something like 450. I was about 23 at the time, I would expect for you, if your a learner or just passed your test to be double or even tripple that, best thing to do is search ebay for a reg of one, then get an insurance quote online, gives you a rought idea then
Even though that was on crap quality cam, you must have nice speakers in your car, can hear the song quite clear (great pendulum fan btw). I also want one of these, 19 and no car yet :(, be lookign to get one when I get money ASAP though. Thanks for the video.
@Ryze115 ha ha its a great song, but its not actually what was playing in the car at the time, I added it over with editing software. It did have a good sounds system though, some Infinity componants (13cm) and a 12" sub in the boot, which took up most of it. Great car to learn in, and this particular car very reliable, never broke down and never failed to start
@pugman205 Say I'm a 17 year old male, get a 1.1 and put it on my dads insurance and he is 40. Taking all that into account, how much do you think insurance will be then?
@VOLVORULEZ1995 well if you owned the car, but had your dad insure it with you as a named driver, then that would be illegal (its called Fronting) The only way to see how much insurance would be, is to use price comparison sites or direct with insurers, these days though, it wont be cheap. You could however own the car (registered in your name) insure it your name, and add your dad as a named driver, it would knock some off but not much (knocked about £30 off adding my own mother)
lol yeah, that was the main reason for filming behind, still get the mick taken outta me at work though. lol, and yeah it is a shame driving around Oswestry as there is bugger all here
Yes, these are great for first cars. Not fantastically fast or powerful with 60bhp (1.1 petrol), but handle pretty well. They are fairly small inside, but still comfortable. Diesel models are reliable, but the steering is rather heavy, since they dont have power steering, Saying that neither did this one. good cars and easy to find spare parts for at a cheap price
Yes is the answer to that, brilliant for a first car. Pretty small, but fairly comfortable. not particularly fast, but handling is pretty good. Diesel's are good, but the steering is rather heavy at slow speeds, since they dont have power steering on lower spec models, but then neither did my 1.1litre, but the engine is so small it wasn't a problem. Cheap to insure and tax as well, which is a bonus
@Spac8 I used a Belkin usb videobus 2 adapter to convert from analogue tape to digital. However, i am sure there are newer things out there that do the same job, mine no longer works :(
@danielchowells Yes, they are certainly a very good car indeed, if a little small, but certainly very good on fuel and very reliable, I dont think I ever had to take a spanner to the engine in the whole time I had it, sadly now this car is dead, and has been since July 2008 :( Rust in peace
It was a 1996 1124cc XL model, the first of the phase 2's. Pitty it was a 3 stud car as well, was gonna upgrade to 4 stud and had already upgraded to a rev counter for a 1.4 XSi, later 1.1's came with them as standard
Studs are reference to how many bolts hold the wheels on, early 106's and Citreon Saxo's (same car essentially) had 3 bolts that held the wheels on, except diesel models and the sportier models, which had 4. Later 106's and Saxo's had 4 stud wheel fitment. Its funny though, that the date you got your car, was the same date back in 06 when I got my first car, a legendary Peugeot 205, all be it a 1.1 as well
you can still get alloys for your car, but your pretty limited on what you can get, for example Legacy Ninja's and Compomotive MO's, however from the age of your car, you should have 4 stud wheel bolts
xD, by all means, you will find it most likely residing in Furber's scrap yard in Whixhall, Shropshire, and many people have commented on my driving style IRL, my reply is, I drive like that for economy, that's how I managed to get 59mpg for mixed driving outta this little 1.1

@pugman205 What I'm saying is, say my dad had a 1.1 106 in his name, it was his car, and wanted to insure me on it, how much would it be?
VOLVORULEZ1995 11 months ago
@VOLVORULEZ1995 Since i am not an insurance broker I couldn't say, you will have to get your dad to ring up his insurer and find out.
pugman205 11 months ago
@VOLVORULEZ1995 around 400 quid as named driver if he has like 8 years no claims.

Cheers.

frankconsidineboro 2 years ago
No, if you loose the code, the car will not start and you cannot drive it. At the time a new immobilizer and code would have been £400.

Yeah for a 1.1 it sure does accelerate.. Yeahh it is on the small side but its good :)
