pretty sure this was recorded from a VHS tape, the sound quality is always like this, i remember it from the videotapes i've rented back then, now and then the pitch seems to go a bit wild! lol
The way he cries "release me". THE PASSION. Fuck it is so good. i love it especially after he cries "For you to speak to me" than RElease ME. fuck that is so powerful! yOU BELIVE HIS Voice and it is also just so fucking good. WOT Album was this off? it wasnt on ten i dont thinK?
I was at this show. Went to see Alice in Chains. Didn't think much of Mookie Blaylock at the time, they were good but had never heard any of the songs before this show. Alice in Chains kicked ass!
Jesus died for my sins? That was awfully presumptuous of him, don't you think? I'll take care of myself if you don't mind - I don't need some long-dead martyr to do it for me.
I would like everyone to know that this song represents more than a persons parting from their father. This song represents ones release from an addiction or from a strong burden.I also believe that it represents the great struggle Israel had from being released from Egypt,or the breaking away from the British colonies to reform what is now the United States. When Jesus had died on the cross from our sins he asked the father to release his spirit. Thanks Jesus for dying for our sins,Also Pearl Jam
U can definetly tell this is there first show. Look at another release opener or any song, Eddy never crosses his arms. They said he was somewhat shy on stage back then. PJ for life!
You can rename this as 'Pearl Jam - Release (First show)' or something! I am sure it will get more number of hits, moreover, PJ fans on the tube will get to see the first ever live performance of one of the best songs of all time! :D
Even though the quality of this video is poor, it is still priceless nonetheless!

Ed's voice is so full and rich yet you know at this nascent stage the sound at these small bars were crap.

I filmed this show. They opened for my band at The Off Ramp in Sept of 91. How did you get this? I have never given it out.
