John K fucked up when he forgot what made ren & stimpy sucessfull to begin with. It was a very adult cartoon that you could watch with your kids and it wasn't creepy. He ruined the franchise by taking it from WB/simpsons status to felix the cat status with the newer episodes. We could have probably enjoyed new episodes for years to come if it weren't for that.
I really don't like this version of Ren and Stimpy. The original Ren and Stimpy cartoon on Nickelodeon is alot better! The Spumcø episodes we're awesome and the Games Animation episodes we're underrated. Ren will always be a jerk and Stimpy will always be a moron deep in our hearts.

Let's remember that Nickelodeon fired him. He didn't want to make a cartoon that targeted children only, he wanted to focus on everyone, regardless of age. That's why I loved R&S when I was five and my Dad loved it when he was in his thirties. As for expanding the cartoon into more risque material, he's never done that with Ren and Stimpy before, and you can't ever gauge what the audience will think of their "beloved" cartoon turned mature. Cut John some slack for Christ's sake!

Even after they got rid of him and Games animation took over, Games ended up using the majority of his ideas for episodes that Nick forbade him to produce when he was still employed there. It's always tricky to find out if material will work once you have free reign to do what you want in John's case. He'll always favor the mechanics of a good cartoon over all else, and that's what you have to look for in his new stuff.

Well let's see, he degrades just about 90% of animators for the work they do because they apparently don't match the quality of work or humor that cartoons should be, and he's also biased against his own staff be they animator's or voice actors. He would also bitch about the fact that his creative juices were hindered by deadlines which ultimately led to him being fired from Nick, and I think he got what he deserved.

This was why they failed miserably, people liked all the old sublteties with them having to battle with the censors. It made you think about it. The newer versions were just plain crap and weren't ren and stimpy.
In the summer of '04, Kricfalusi completed 2 new episodes (an hour long!), those episodes (with "Naked Beach Frenzy") were shown at film festivals and special screenings. The network had planned to start Adult Party Cartoon's 2nd season in August 2004, but cancelled that plan at the next-to-last minute
He didn't get fired but it never got aired, and his staff were out of the SpikeTV job. That's what I meant. Sure Spunco was still there, but the "television for men" didn't air it, which resulted in in people getting harassed for "why they did it." I have no doubt people got fired for it. I don't really like SpikeTV, as you can tell...very dishonest
Actually, Nickelodeon DID fire Kricfalusi is 1992. The animating moved from his Spumco International to Games Animation where it srayed until its cancellation in 1996.
Kricfalusi returned after one of the Spiked-men knew of lots of material that was immediately rejected by Nick "clipboards"; "Onward and Upward" along with other adult party episodes were shown on TNN in 2003, and right after completing Naked Beach Frenzy in 2004 did they pull out and cancel it all together.
It was his baby but under Nick anything can lose a head. He was still Creator and Executive for it, if I believe, but he couldn't make any of his ideas part of the show, Nick wanted it to be how THEY wanted, not how he dreamt.
He got fired. Just believe it. All memorable people of history had to fight for what they thought was right. Don't worry though, Jon K. is doin fine.
No because they were funny a thousand times better then south park or family guy, these people are real cartoonists that drive on misguided adventures and looney tunes esq violence, theres no message in these episodes that tell people how they should be running there lives, truly it's how the 90's decade would have wanted it to have been.
Well, I've seen a couple of the episodes when they aired, and from what I've seen, they streched the plot out for a whole half-hour instead of 11-minutes like the old show, which dragged it down a bit.
The only episode of the bunch that resembled the old show to me was the "Ren Seeks Help" episode.

well, sorry, I do admire John K's talent and humor style, but I also believe this Adult Parry Cartoon was wrong. He might just have given all kids who loved Ren & Stimpy the finger and it would have been less insulting.

I actually do agree with you on this. John K is very talented, by APC was just....dumb. Ren Seeks Help seemed like the only episode I enjoyed ALOT.
Although, I am waiting for "Life Sucks," which is supposedly Ren and Stimpy's best script ever written.

Spouting off about how it's the same people now and who cares about the jokes is missing the point, innuendo is a lot funnier than blatently going around acting gay like they do now.
There is a video on youtube of an interview with Billy West about the new ren and stimpy and he said he wouldn't voice it because he didn't want to put his name to it and be associated with it now, even he said it's not funny anymore because they don't have to make innuendo and now act gay and swear

This was why they failed miserably, people liked all the old sublteties with them having to battle with the censors. It made you think about it. The newer versions were just plain crap and weren't ren and stimpy.

The network had planned to start Adult Party Cartoon's 2nd season in August 2004, but cancelled that plan at the next-to-last minute

He didn't get fired but it never got aired, and his staff were out of the SpikeTV job. That's what I meant. Sure Spunco was still there, but the "television for men" didn't air it, which resulted in in people getting harassed for "why they did it." I have no doubt people got fired for it. I don't really like SpikeTV, as you can tell...very dishonest

Actually, Nickelodeon DID fire Kricfalusi is 1992. The animating moved from his Spumco International to Games Animation where it srayed until its cancellation in 1996.
Kricfalusi returned after one of the Spiked-men knew of lots of material that was immediately rejected by Nick "clipboards"; "Onward and Upward" along with other adult party episodes were shown on TNN in 2003, and right after completing Naked Beach Frenzy in 2004 did they pull out and cancel it all together.

It was his baby but under Nick anything can lose a head. He was still Creator and Executive for it, if I believe, but he couldn't make any of his ideas part of the show, Nick wanted it to be how THEY wanted, not how he dreamt.
He got fired. Just believe it. All memorable people of history had to fight for what they thought was right. Don't worry though, Jon K. is doin fine.

Well, I've seen a couple of the episodes when they aired, and from what I've seen, they streched the plot out for a whole half-hour instead of 11-minutes like the old show, which dragged it down a bit.
The only episode of the bunch that resembled the old show to me was the "Ren Seeks Help" episode.

yeah it's not as funny as it was, someone posted about how they had to be clever and subtle to get past the nick censors, now they don't bother and it has lost its charm, the voices seem different too now.
