A guy I work with is the flight engineer for most of the "Yankee Lady" flights. He says the amount of time inspecting and reinspecting the plane to make sure all is "ok" is enormous. He also says the FFA is very strict when they review the plane to have it certified for air worthiness.
I would go up in the old bird as the 17's is my favorite of any plane but I have trouble parting with the money for the ride. lol

its not waist gun the gunners are Cheek Turret and Chin Turret Top Turret Ball Turret waist gunners and the tail gunner
