  • I used to love when the teacher would show these in class. Sure beat math...Ah the memories.

  • Jiminy Cricket's the best conscience in the world. :)

  • I'm sorry, but what I mean is that I remember seeing this back in elementary school in the first grade.

  • I rememer seeing this back in elementary school in the sixth grade.

  • I love this, I use to watch the "I'm No Fool" stuff as kid all the time. Back when Disney Channel was good.

  • Jiminy Cricket, the original soccermom.

  • "Never ever overload a boat!" *murders family with eraser*

  • I did a lot of what the fool did when I was a kid and I lived so far to be 29 LOL!

  • A more modern version of this cartoon would include having to wear helmets, pads, gloves, mouthpieces, and other protective equipment when playing more physical activities such as football, hockey, skateboarding, dirtbiking, etc.

A song verse would probably go:

"Any fool does not wear pads and joins the game just plain,

But soon as he makes contact he is in a world of pain."

  • Try it again, fuckstick!

  • Why the hell isn't this on DVD? o_O

  • Hey! At 6:42, is that a Mickey Mouse comic book?

  • Ah, the miracle we call YouTube...I was just scrolling through some political news, and for some strange reason I was seized by a sudden craving to see Jiminy Cricket in "I'm No Fool". :-D

Thanks, mikedeisenberg, for posting this blast from the past!

  • i used to watch this on the reel to reel projection in elementary school, along with charlott's web, rikki tiki tavy, the golden seal, velveteen rabbit, etc. thanks for posting! now on to johnny appleseed and ichabod crane and the headless horseman!

  • I remember this from elementary school. How cool.

  • My Great-Grandma's no fool.

    No, siree.

She has lived to almost 103.

  • I remember seeing another one of these many years ago involving crossing the street.

  • This must of been one of Mr.T's favorite shows when he was a kid, lol

  • Wow live musicians (big band) doing the background music....orchestrations, conductor most likely...and this is only a short cartoon...wow those were the days.

  • Mr. Jiminy Cricket needs to add Politics and Corporations plus Health Care, it sure wouldn't hurt a fool and his money.

  • Thanks Jiminy. Because of your advice so far I've lived to be 33.

  • Really? In the end "I" am responsible for "MY" safety? Even if I am American? Isn't just easier to be a fool and sue someone?

  • So basically he's saying your not allowed to make mistakes or your a fool. Great advice Jiminy >.>

  • Wow...Do I remember this! When I was in the 3rd grade in the 60's during school Assembly Day...White Blouses, White Shirts, Dark Skirts, Dark Pants. The Pledge of Allegence and "I'm No Fool" with JIminy Cricket. And Public Service TV Commercial Jingles...Like: "Don't Cross the Street in the Middle of the Block".

  • ROFL! This brings back memories. I love when Jiminy says, "Try it again, stupid!", with an annoyed look on his face.

  • @infinitechie LOL, that line was funny!!

  • @infinitechie He doesn't have that look, though, when he makes that remark.

  • I remember watching this at school in the 50's. We were all in the gymnasium and thought it quite a treat! What fun to see it again!

  • I'm 45 & I remember watching this in elementary.

  • They used to show these on The Ink And Paint Club on Disney Channel when I was a kid!

  • WOW! I haven't seen this since my 2nd grade class assembly when I was 7! I'm 50 now! Thanks for posting this! Funny how I've remembered ever word of this song all my life even though I've only seen this once as a kid! But rewatching it now confirms I remembered correctly!

  • The full title of this short is "I'm No Fool Having Fun". The cartoon consists mostly of animation recycled from "The Mickey Mouse Club" TV show.

  • I see where Disney got the idea for Timon and Pumbaa's Wild About Safety

  • I didn't go to Lincoln Elementary school but we, also, watched these at my elementary school back in the 70's. Great memories, yes!! Too bad this great stuff isn't around schools anymore....at least that I know of, they're not. :(

  • I have been looking for these films for years. Thanks youtube! The memories of watching these in the cafeteria at Lincoln Elementary school in Escondido, Ca. are so clear to me. I wanted to share them with my Grandson. They just do not make them like this now. Anyone else out there go to Lincoln?

  • I'm gonna live to be a hundred and three!

I watched this in 1965 or so in Manoa elementary school in Hawaii, in 3rd grade. It was a big deal to go to the audio visual room to see a movie. 3 or 4 other classes would share the viewing.

  • I remember watching this in school back in the 60's. I was glued to everything Jiminy was saying. Thanks for sharing!

  • Us too - I very much remember seeing this in grammar school; I remember the little song and not much else! :D

  • What a joy! This was a trip down memory lane for me. When I was a girl (many years ago) my grade school classmates and I were treated to this reel-to-reel movie each year. The opening music gave me goosebumps then -- and I just got them again 8 minutes ago! Thank you. Thank you, so much. -- Jenny
