@speedymichel: When they do the ka mate they must behind the men and not do the male stances such as sticking out the tongue and slapping of the chest. Notice they are doing different gestures while still reciting. It's still a male dance but women can be in it, just not in the lead role.
I was even wondering, I thought women were not allowed to participate at all in this dance but I guess the not sticking out her toungue takes care of that bit.
@BaphometsUnholySon I may be confused but women are not soposed to stick their tongue out because when the men do it it used to be a taunt that they were going to eat you and gain your mana, since mana was for warriors women never ate their oponents, so it just made no sence
