  • I love writing! It's so fun my mom says I do it 24/7 but I lose track of time writing! I can get all my thoughts and ideas out so simply!

  • So... To want to write a book... Should be a pure reason like I want to be an author.

  • @TheChillyCucmber

I know exactly what you mean!!!! Happens to me 24/7 and when I'm at school I daydream about things for my stories and weird part is... I get straight a's...

  • Cool vid ... I am doing some writing and I love doing it.. any sci-fi /horror fan should be apreciated cuz genre of my trio books is sci-fi horror mix :)

  • @TheChillyCucumber - OMG your my long lost Twin! :)

I love listening to music and seeing my characters in my head - I thought I was going mad! :D

  • AcesVideos123, I do the same as you and I really need help.

  • i dont wanna be a writer to tell the truth i want to learn how to write a good book so i can get my ideas on paper as faithfully as possible without ruining it but if i become a writer then ill have to come up with something every time just to make moneyi can't really come up with anything good under pressure...

  • hey im writing my book and the book is based on my life story im an 18 year old and i was just wondering what would be some good tips for writing a book about your own life and experiences

  • Is this a good reason..... I have a large imagination and tons of ideas of things I feel people will find interesting I like free writing just not the class. Please let me know thank you :D

  • Robin I need help on something. I am writing a book but I always have trouble getting started because I keep thinking my writing is boring. Any tips on getting past feeling that your writing is boring? I always seem to write a page or two then scrap it. Love your videos! --MrMcGonagall

  • I love to write, to imagine, see, feel, and hear everything that the characters in my mind are going through. Also to see everything that I've worked onto come to fruition. I've always had a good imagination and writing is how I get it out onto the world.

But I've always fallen into the trap of becoming... disinterested in a way that makes me put it off. I've no idea why, but for some reason I do. :(

  • i dont want to be a writer, a painter, or a singer.... im an artist.. i paint, draw, play music, sing, dance, scream, cry, and now im writing a book.. BOOM! Im running on all cylinders here.. im putting the art-pedal to the metal..! I was not put on this planet to toil in the mud..

  • I want to write because writing isn't something you are good at. It is something you feel. You don't go to college for writing, you are BORN a writer.

  • I always have been great at storytelling.

I've told my brothers many stories and they said to make books out of them. I will. All I want is for everyone to enjoy reading my book. I have written several pages and I always listen to music. That always helps me with my writer's block:)

  • I have to watch videos like this everyday so I won't forget to write my book...

  • For me, listening to music helps...

  • I want to be a writer because I love zoning out from the world, seeing and feeling the enviorment of my imaginary worlds and seeing my characters faces, hearing their words. That sounds cheesy, I know, but it's a passion of mine. When I listen to music, I can see my characters in certain scenes and build plot to the sound of the music, which is creepy. Thank you so much for making these videos, they're very useful to me. And I'm only twelve, so this is kind of an intense thing! Thank you so much!

  • @TheChillyCucumber

It's not cheesy :) since I feel the EXACT same way about writing. Kinda creepy :P lol

  • Hi im 11 and I want to write a book because I love to read and books inspired me.

  • @lovablereborns I'm 11 2 and i also love writing books and wrote one and proud of it and ready for the sequal thats some inspriation for you

  • How do you stop writer's block?

  • i was told that when writting a book your not supposed to think about getting it published until your finished.do you think that way or do you think about publishing it before you finish?

  • I would say that the most important component to being a successful writer is realizing that your characters are, in a sense, alive. They live, breath, and exist within their world and respond to the stimuli you, as the author, create according to their own wills. When you realize that your characters have started to drive your story seemingly under their own power- that's when you know you're a true author. (My humble 2¢.)

  • I love books, and browse all the time. I must say, from what I've read, fiction is certainly the hardest genera to write in. It's not nessisarily hard to begin, but originality is always a problem.

  • Female version of Mel Gibson in Braveheart!

    For Scotland!!!

  • i want to be a writer

  • I'm only 13. How do I send the book I wrote to an agent?

  • I love your videos! I've been writing everything a little bit but mostly I fancy poetry writing :)

  • I'm currently writing aswell, but I'm only 14 years old so, I don't belive it won't go far YET. I want to write books, because I enjoy telling storys, and having people reading my work, its fun to write about stuff that is slightly connected to the news I hear everyday. The modern day news plays a big part in the story i'm currently writing. I struggle defining my characters personalities in conversations though, conversations in the story is my weak spot. Anyway, thanks for the video it helped.

  • @FallingInWhite Im 16 and wanting to write a book as well. Good luck!

  • i am writing a book called "silent wishers" it is about 4 friends that go to a boarding school. At their school they are not allowed to wish. So Sarah,Taylor, jenny, and Gil sneak out of school in the middle of the night. When others find out they hope they get back before the headmaster finds out. how many pages do you think i should use?

  • I love writing books too. I am getting my book looked at by an agent.

  • I write for the characters, I love getting to know who they are and where they're going. I'm just starting on a new idea I've had for a couple years. It has changed a lot since, but I think now I have an idea of where I want to go in this story.

  • I'm writing a book called The Journey, Betrayal, and Seduction: the ups & down of a Casanova.

The thing is, I'm still on my chapter 5. I need to complete atleast another 5 more. But here's the thing, I don't want to publish it in my country, which is Singapore. But I don't know how, what, where to go to. Any opinions? Thank you, your video's great.:)

  • @emycasanova If you don't want to publish it in your country just send it to agents from other countries. From what I've seen they always go to the publishers where they're from first. Where an agent is baed is usually made pretty clear on thier website so it shouldn't be too hard to find some to send it off to.

  • This is so interesting. I wrote a book. :) Actully i'am writing a series. I have an editor. I have aggents listed and since nine years of age i have been writing books that are pretty much long stories. Then one day i started a story then just couldn't stop! And i ended up with five books! I finished book one and two, but have neither published....YET! :) When did you start your writing career?

  • I'm sixteen and I've been writing since I was nine. I started off for years just starting the first few chapters of books and never progressing, getting too caught up in different ideas to focus on just one at a time, but over the past few years I've managed to write two books (unpublished, considering how hard it is especially considering my age). I know I may never get published, and while it would be amazing if I did, it matters more to just be able to write for as long as I possibly can.

  • @KateWorld337 Hi! I just read your comment, and i wanna know, you wrote two books yes? Do you have an editor of some kind?

  • @NickiandJulie I have a friend who helps me to edit, so I guess you could say I do, but she's not professional.

  • thank you soo much!

  • I've been writing my book since my freshmen year, I'm a junior now. Usually I've been having majors writers block. I want to be a writer in the future and I'm hoping to finish my book soon. My parents aren't very supportive so I'm basically on my own here, except for one of my best friends. She and I enjoy reading books and we exchange them with each other all the time. I appreciate all your advice. Thank you! XD Maybe you could read it once I'm done, if you have time... well byebye. :)

  • @TheEsmeraldaMartinez Wow. What's your book about if you don't mind me asking?

  • Thank you for your advice. I've had terrible writers block for months now but I think it's coming f=down yet.

  • Any suggestions on writing a philosophy book? That is what I am attempting. The main reason I desire this is to get my ideas out in a more timeless way before I die. The hardest part for me is to make.... (MORE)

  • ....complex philosophical ideas palatable for the layperson and at the same time make the material interesting and entertaining. I am hardly the "writer" but an willing to put in the long term time I need for this.

  • hey i'm Benn, i'm probably one of the last people u'd ever expect to write a book, i'm only 17 but just say that i'm really committed to my book and i feel that it will really effect people, i never give up and i won't stop untill people from all around the country are reading my book. but all i want to know is what are the chances of it becoming big? and yer i really want this to happen.

  • i want to write a book. I have chosen to do it on magic, growing up and a little on the city of florence. its called inner spirits.

  • the land marks in real life the problum is I never been to poland and i dont have the money to go there. So my question is can i make up curtain land marks in Poland, or should I go to Poland and see them?

  • Thank you for the advice. I am already starting to write my first novel that is kinda a fiction, non fiction kind of story. Its basically about WWII and i dpnt wanna brag, but it is a pretty good story. However i am in a little bit of a snag. It takes place in Poland and I am talking about some landmarks in the city, the only problum is, Idk if its ok to make up certain places in Poland if they dont actually exist. And I feel that in order to make my story accurate, I have to remember-

  • I want to write a Horror book and need tips on character development, and, well, really all about writing a book because i have never written a story since school. Any websites i could visit like a Dummies Guide to Writing Books?

My experience (tell me if i am wrong... I might be but anyway):

When it comes to writing about a character remember that just like a real life person every character needs to be unqiue.

When it comes to describing somebody remember don't go to far into depth when describing them, sometimes you have to let the readers imagination fill in the blanks. But do give them some things (e.g. there height, the hair colour, a scar or mark etc.)

  • So in the book when that character talks make it so the reader can tell that, that specific character is talking. When it comes to actually writing have a journal, and put down ideas, then as time goes on organize those notes. With the journal write down dreams anything becuase sometimes the best thing for a character dream is a real dream. When it comes to writing be descriptive don't use words over, remember to spice it up. I dont know if it was any help if it wasnt sorry 4 wasting your time,

  • my own space and my own motivation lets me know what I really wanted my writing to do: guide the very different beasts that read my stuff. I love to write as i am a writer . . . listen to Robin, she is a straight-up GREAT SPEAKER on writing, fiction or non fiction.

    sharing the light,

    miss erica hidvegi

    published twice now . . .

  • I agree what you are a saying. I'm writing a book/non fication that centers around self-esteem but i'm using the bible as my guilde. Bascially im going use theverses. I have 28 pages so far. I'm also writing a bunch of poems about my life. I think I want to be a writer. I feel it relaxing and peaceful.

  • I applaud you for saying you want to be a writer if you want to write a book. It's very true.

I think you should say in a next blog: 'You need to practice. You can't jump headfirst into writing a novel.'

I'm an aspiring writer. It's good to find people like you who encourage us to write more. Thank you. :)

  • wow, this is reali inspiring. I may b very very young, but i wanna b an authour! I've started a book, and i have my friends cheering me on (mostly via msn)

^-^ cant think of a title for it though.....

  • I want to be a writer because I love the story, and I love the people that come in and out my head. Plus the suspense is very enjoyable for me a swell. I have few dozen books in my head that I plane to publish with in my life time. I think I want to write until I'm too old to do anything, when my adult grandchildren are like "no grandma step away from the lap top, and go nit " or what ever I'm into when I'm an older woman

  • Excited to hear you plan to publish the books in your head, witchypoo! I for sure want to write into my old age. Wonder what will captivate me then? thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks! I just started on the Mayden chronicles. I wanted to watch all the videos first for some reason. so I just started reading it, but from what I've read so far. I decided to start spamming you to my friends on face book

  • A case where spamming may be good? Thanks!!! Hugs, Robin

  • I'm happy to do it. You are so wonderful as a person and a writer

  • That is true, ScottieDM, about the non-fiction. But the best non-fiction books tell stories in one way or the other...or so I think! Yes, we have four more blockbuster tips coming soon! Thanks for letting me know you're paying attention!

  • Nonfiction isn't always stories, for example technical books. Although I did once read an explanation of how traceroute works--using pirates with parrots as an analogy. But that approach doesn't always work.

Hey, Robin. Are you going to tell us the other four things we need to write a blockbuster novel? We got high stakes.

  • please make more videos like these.. i need some serious inspiration to get started:P i really really want to write a book.. or i would like to write many. but ive only written short stories n with school on the side i struggle to get started:(

  • That is amazing from a 14 year old... sounds like a plot driven story, which most of mine have been. So the thing to work on now is why these characters are worthy of their pirate plot! Keep going!

  • I'm on with what I hope to be my debut novel: A Drunken Escapade. It's about Pirates from a Galleon ,called the Gallant Plunder, captained by the one and only Captain Xercex Goldstrum. The crew wakes up marooned on a desert Island after their latest drunken escapade and they must find a way off and take revenge on the one who is responsible. Along the way, Goldstrum meats his old enemy and his Dad, cog who he thought had been killed. Pretty good storyline for a 14 year old, eh?

  • wow that sounds so good!

    good luck :D
