I like that they have the shows on DVD, but I don't like that they have to constantly close in on the audience's expressions. We don't need to see their faces to know that the show is amazing. :P

I saw this show on May 2nd and REALLY loved it. I want to go see it again and again(hopefully I'll get to see it before they leave on Sunday). I'm going to be depressed after they leave.

I'm jealous that you got to sit in the front row. Do you remember what character that person was playing (was he on the teeterboard, in the procession, etc.)?

I'm also sad that Paul Bisson left- I love his voice. At least Kit Chatam is still there.

To bad that Kit will be leaving once the Corteo tour is over in Tokyo (I think that he said that he'll be doing one of the permanent Cirque shows in Las Vegas). He's such a talented drummer.

well i don't think i'll ever get the chance to see corteo since the tour is only supposed to be in the us and europe...

but i have watched the dvd like a million times (okay 10 times actually) and i love it

when my grandpa died (a month ago) i watched this show since i thought it would talk something about death... i'll just say it made me feel good and it made me laugh as well

Haha, yeah I agree free tickets are the best. I alos got to go backstage, and I just have to say it is sooo different from Varekai backstage. Varekai had like game tables and more leisure activities where as Corteo was a lot more rehersal driven...if that makes sense. My friend is in Tournik, so I have to say this is my favorite act, lol- my Brazilian boy is a cutie :)

sadly... he left Corteo in San Diego... when I got to see them for the 3rd time. I was mourning for more then a week or two. But they're new singer is good, and will trust he will do just as well as Paul. But still...

I found out not long ago that Paul Bisson left Corteo. I honestly started crying when I found that out. The singer in his place sang for Quidam and was their drummer. So I'm going to trust that is a very good singer, I loved the Quidam musicians. But none rival Paul!

the act is glorious but why do i feel i've seen the surrounding action and heard this music time and time again? the last great show of CDS was La Nouba. after that it all went downhill. the artists are always amazing but these shows are all just carbon copies of the original work of Franco Dragone. i was once a HUGE cirque fan but no more. Varekai made me lose interest as well as Kai. and their prices are criminal.

How do you figure the shows went downhill? I've seen La Nouba, Alegria, Ka,O, Varekai, Corteo, Mystere & soon Kooza. If they are carbon copies, you're an idiot. I doubt the fan part is true and for the price you see world class athletes perform amazing stunts with beautiful music and showmanship. Each show is a thrill and true entertainment, non-stop and superb. Stay home and watch TV if you can't appreciate great entertainment, sit on the couch and pick your nose and feed your face.

it's good to see some of these CDS shows are now working quite well on video. the earlier ones such as Quidam and Dralion were a disaster on video. they showed cheesey shots of audience members and slow motions and audience responses that didn't match the action on stage. the editing was horrible. this is a vast improvement.

Gah this performance blew me away. That thing at 3:35 made my shoulders ache. It looked like he was doing giants in a skin-the-cat position. I don't know, what the hell was that?! It was insane!

I don't know much about gymnastics terms but that looks like a German giant....there aren't many descriptions or videos floating around but type into Youtube "Gymnastics-German giant" and the first video in the results list is very similar to what is being done at 3:35

I wonder what skill of gymnastics they have to have to do this. I mean, they're incorporating giants, and inverted giants and german giants and release moves. We do all that on the high bar, but obviously not with other people following right on top of us, haha.

As an usher for Cirque in Atlanta, I got to see Corteo over 40 times. And they paid me to see it! They didn't have that odd singing at the beginning and I like the music much better without it. Every time I watched this act, I thought that if just one guy missed a count or was just a bit off on the bar, then everyone would come crashing. It was a great way to end the show!
