@coltonm123123 thank you, ive since won several awards at my local store, and 2 of my miniatures are permanently on display there, if are ever in tunbridge wells (its in kent) then you can see my chaplin and my orc warboss on the top shelve of the revolving display, something im quite proud of.
ye, i buy the 5 black reach terminators all the time. A good way to use em is to get 5 of them and buy assault termis and then give one 5man squad the claws and give the other the thunder hammers (u will need extra 10 shoulder pads though!!!)
lol nice 5/5 im thinking on getting started with this set with space marines and i was windering if this is a good set to start space marines with plz let me know on my channel or om me thnxs
Yes it is, great price. it includes templates rulebook and a getting started booklet, the terminators are £25, the tac marines are £20 the captain is £12, and the dreanought is £25. Its has £82s worth of space marines, and 450 points of orks and templates rulebooks dice and starter book !
it is an insanely good deal, it's an excellent starter set even from a cost perspective a dreadnaught costs 50$ alone that's 1/2 the cost, a squad of terminators costs like 40$, those 2 alone cover most of the cost + u get a general, and marines and a whole ork army you can sell or trade for marines or something like that
Great painting dude, I got the AOBR kit to, and just had a quick question. What colors did you use on the cape and what colors did you use on the banner?
first you start by using mechite red, the used blodd red over that. once dry use the baal red wash (red ink also works well. then on the raised areas paint blood red again, this creates shadow. then simply paint blazing orange on the sharp edges.
for the banner was painted like this:
start by painting bleached bone straight on to the black under coat, then wash with badab black, then repaint over with bleached bone.
I'm a 100% newb when it comes to Warhammer, but i'm about to start collection.
Therefor I have a question; the marines on the box are all blue coloured, but yours are not, what are the rules when it comes to picking coloures for marines (and warhammer 40k in general)?
....actually you dont 'have' to paint a certain way. Black Templars dont need to be painted black and white, nor do ultramarines need to be painted Blue and Gold. You use the rules of the codex for sure....but you can paint them anyway you want.
DIffrent clans and such have diffrent paint scemes like for ork evil suns they are generally red. salamader space marines are green. if you get the assault on black reach book or the space marine codex you can see them all.
i always start my painting with troops. then HQ, then extra goodies like tanks. Get the bulk out of the way cus thats the most painfull and time consuming. Then i can focuse lots of time and attention to my hq, tanks and other showcase units.
I've tried production-line painting and it was slowly killing my soul.
I now do one mini at a time, in the order of my choosing. It takes a while, but I'm so much happier being able to put all my effort into one guy at a time.
true... however i still can never bring myself to spending more than 4 hours on a troop unit. Especially considering that most wont spent more than a few minutes on the table :p
hi mate i am making up a army i have about 100 marines and 6 tanks and a baneblade and all the cool suff from the black reach box set i am painting just groups of marines at a time i am painting them red your painting is cool i take days painting just 5 models so i get the look right.
hi mate i got the set today and its great the dreadnaught i put stones from my garden for the base and it looks cool guys dont buy all your base things like stone you can find them for free.. your models look cool
ok m8 very simple, first do a base coat of shadow grey, then do a coat of fortress grey (make sure to leave the gaps and creveses with the shadow grey) then put a highlight of scull white but only on the edges !!!.
once you have done all that then you will have a great looking terminator helmet.
you should remember to this with the rest of your models.
I just bought this set to learn the game, and i really enjoy painting them.

arkiepoo 2 years ago
im unaware of such a set, then again i haven't done warhammer for a while. i have yet to check the latest gear that has become available.
jack037907 2 years ago
@arkiepoo the diff is that Aobr includes everything you need to play, whilst the space marines battleforce box or w/e it's called only includes minis

good question and here is the answer:

easy!

Hey dude, first of all: awesome video!
I'm a 100% newb when it comes to Warhammer, but i'm about to start collection.

thkro20 2 years ago 3
ok it goes like this, for marines there are diferent chapters (blood angels, dark angels, black templars, space wolfs and marines)
if you are a marines player, them there loads of different color schemes to choose from, or just make you own.
but if you choose a specific chapter, then you need to paint them however the codex tell you.
easy. i chose the black templars, so mine are painted black and white.
go nuts, choose whatever colour you want : green purple, blue, black, red, orange. whatever
jack037907 2 years ago
aah i see! (I just got a PDF of the Codex)
that actually makes a lot of sence!
thanks man!

That depends on whether you're entering a tournament with super-anal rules.

Green and Black sounds like the Salamanders chapter.
Go google Lexicanum, it's a Warhammer 40,000 wiki with information about all the official space marine chapters.
