Quick question. I bought the same filter you did a few months ago and couldnt find the adapter for it. So I asked the local shop and they said I bought the filter for the 3000gt, but every site I go to shows the filter I bought, I just cant find the adapter. Where did you get yours?
I just put a type s bov look alike greddy type rs type bov on my car and adjusted the screw out almost the whole way untill there was no tension on it and when in park i pushed the gas and you could hear the turbo flutter but i took it out on the road and at about half boost it seems to be letting out all the pressure what am i doing wrong here? D:
Hey i have a question lol i just got my talon about 6 months ago it was blown up i rebuilt it twice now :P everything seems to be okay as far as i know but when im sitting in park and i rev it up the boost gauge only goes up to 0 not pushing any boost and the blow off valve does not let out air because its not pushing any air in yet.. is that normal? when i run the car and i drop off the throttle you can hear the bov working but its not boosting in park / neutral D:
@countryboyG Its perfectly normal. When your sitting still the engine isnt doing any work so the air pressure doesnt build up. Sometimes people get it to blow off when sitting still by reving it quick and hard but there isnt anything wrong with your car. If it blows off when your driving, the engine is working to move the car, more air pressure=boost=blow off. Thats not the 100% correct way to explain it but I hoped you kind of understand what I'm trying to say. Its kind of hard to explain it.
@Natedogg8922 yeah thats exactly what i was thinking but i know my car and that are like the same thing and i just wanted to make sure i didnt hook up anything wrong when i rebuilt it but thanks for the information!
Not all T/C vehicles have BOVs. Give it a chance OP i'm on your side here lol but some small town track cars for drag racing only actually don't run a BOV. Terrible for the Turbo yes, but only runs 1/4 mile at a time, so they get plenty of use out of it. I def have my BOV, don't want any shaft play anytime soon lol
@Sernasie905 the hissing noise is the turbo. the purge sound at the end of the REV is the blow off valve. not all turbos have em only the non-recirculatory do. all will hiss tho. dont buy a civic lol
@5Lmustangforlife it needs to be recirculated as the stock ecu is taking the recirculated air into account. some dsms have run stock non recirculated fine, but many die out if revved at idle and everytime you let off the gas you run really rich. in regards to another comment, it is true a front mount will not make anything different. but the hard pipes and then replace that rubber turbo intake pipe and you do get more noise, you hear the turbo spool and less sound is lost with hard pipes

need some help?! is there a difference between recirculated and non recirculated. i wanna put a ssqv on my talon but i heard somewhere that recirculated builds boost faster and non recirculated just vents the air out
itll build boost faster between shifts but you probibly wont be able to notice. you will notice the black smoke commin out of your exhaust cause the ECU i accounting for air that is no longer there.
haha wow. just reading at these comments make me LOL!! haha. damn noobs... i wonder how old they are.. nice bov man. im trying to get the NGR type s but they are out right now..
Every turbo has to get rid of the boost wheather its a waste dump or a BOV. an intercooler would not make it sound diffrent. intercooler just cools the turbo down. hes right you kids really need to get a ase certification and learn something. instead of listening to your dumbass friends who get their shit from their cracked out dads and fast and furious.
by the way an intercooler does not cool the turbo down..... it cools the air coming from the turbo so its cool and not hot when it goes into the intake mani.

@sellallday247 ehh not really smartass most cars from the factory dont need to get rid of the boost pressure because their just that factory turbos running such a small amount of boost it wont even effect the turbo over years.
newer cars usually run them now though but i still see some without them
@NicholasBouchard thats what i wanted to say but you bet me to it. some people dont know shit about cars and think they do. pisses me off. 4g63t's all the way!!!!
@sellallday247 an intercooler doesn't cool the turbo down but it cools the intake air so it has more mass on a smaller volume so more fuel can be injected ;)
@sellallday247 A waste gate does not "get rid" of boost pressure, it simply bleeds exhaust gas to keep it from driving the turbine wheel thus driving the compressor wheel aka spooling the turbo and creating more boost than is needed. It is the diverter valve/dump valve/ blow off valve that bleeds off pent up boost when the throttle plate closes to keep it from causing a pressure load on the compressor wheel which leads to compressor surge. And also (continued)
@sellallday247 (part 2) The intercooler is not meant to cool the turbo, Its job is to cool the pressurized air (boost) so that you have a cooler/denser charge going into the combustion chamber which not only helps create more power, but also helps fight against knock or in other words pre-ignition. @sellallday247 I agree with everything you said except an intercooler doesn't cool the turbo down. An intercool cools the air coming out of your turbo and in to your intake manifold
@sellallday247 intercooler is not for cooling the turbo, that's what the oil is for or in some cases have lines that run from your coolant. The intercooler cools down the charged air.
Your comment sounds like complete nonsense. Every turbo car has a BOV somewhere along the way. With out a BOV a turbo car would not work dumbass, you need something to hold boost and then release it hence the whoosh you get. Also all turbo cars have a intercooler, a larger intercooler wont make anything sound different. And WTF is a dose pipe???
Lol, watching Fast and the Furious isnt anywhere to learn how cars work. Idk where you read or learn your stuff but remind me to stay away from that information
Some turbo cars don't have intercoolers, they are HIGHLY recommended since it keeps the cylinders from detonating under extremely hot air, but not needed if you don't really want one and want your car to possibly take a shit. A BoV is also not needed, it causes turbo surge which will blow the turbo out, but also not needed lol.
Technically the kid is right, those parts are not needed but will make the car/turbo possibly blow. The noise he hears from no BoV is turbo surge, which is VERY bad.
factory t3 (or t25 depending on the year) no bov, no intercooler. stock around 4.5psi. im just saying not EVERY turbo car has a bov or an intercooler lol
@Natedogg8922 technically not all turbo cars have intercoolers...the rear mount sts turbo system doesnt require you to run an intercooler because by the time the air gets back to the motor its already chilled to the most prestine temp possible.
@Natedogg8922 Actually you are the dumbass. All turbo cars do not have BOVs...most of them actually have waste gates. Do your home work before you open your mouth.
Not looking to fight, but a turbo car DOES NOT need a bov. The purpose of the valve is to relive stress on the wastegate when the throttle plate is closed. When the throttle plate closes it creates a surge that travels back down the cold pipe, to the intercooler, to the cold pipe, into the turbine housing, off the wastegate, back through the turbine housing, etc. Without the bov to vent the excess pressure this surge continues and can damage the turbine wheel over time.
@crisis2a a wastegate is not going to flutter/ or make any noise unless its a dump pipe system. then all your going to hear is screaming exhaust. all a wastegate is, is a valves that opens under a set amount of boost, and bypass's the exhaust gas around the turbo impeller, so the turbo will not make any more boost/ PSI. in conclusion. a wastegate is a system to maintain a certain boost level. it;s not going to make any flutter noise.
@Natedogg8922 However, there is no NEED fore a bov. I personally prefer the sound of wastegate flutter. On the grand scale of things it only minimally shortens the life of the turbo
@crisis2a wastegate flutter? what? you mean turbo chatter? that's the sound of the compressed air going back into the turbo, because there was no BOV to vent to atmosphere, or, recirculate back into the intake system before the turbo.
@Natedogg8922 ok. i realized this comment is a year old.. but. a turbo car doesn't HAVE to have a BOV. it's very unhealthy for a turbo to not have one. but it will stiff run, and drive... some race cars dont have BOV's so they can spool faster/ get into boost faster.
and i know a lot of cars that from the factory, do not run with an intercooler. a turbo car once again does not HAVE to have a intercooler. all an intercooler does, it cool down the air after the turbo going to the throttle body.
The sound from not having a BoV is called turbo surge, it happens when the throttle closes and the air is pushed back through the turbo making it spin backwards, that causes the turbo to tare itself apart (in short terms, the turbo blows up/takes a shit). As anyone will tell you, turbo surge is possibly the worse thing that could happen to a boosted car besides running too lean or having a heat soaked intercooler/running no intercooler with extremely hot air.
Alright, let me give you the break down since I have sometime to waste. The turbo has a impeller and a compressor, the impeller is spun by exhaust gasses, the compressor (as you may be able to tell by the name) compresses the air which sends it into the insake manifold and into the cylinders. Without a BoV something happens called turbo stall, in which the pressure isn't released upon the throttle closing and it makes the compressor stop spinning at an unnaturally high timing.
It makes the compressor move or spin backwards which means it is spinning against the impeller powered by the exhaust which, depending on how much pressure, will blow the turbo.
Now, I would go do some research since I'm not some fast and furious kid talking shit online, I'm a certified mechanic with quite a bit of experience. If you need to know anything else please let me know so you may learn something.
@bnz500 That sound you think is awesome is your turbo being destroyed. With a bad/no BOV, you would have pressure pushed back into the turbo outlet, forcing it to spin in reverse. YOu then here a "flutter". You can install a good BOV that will release and produce a flutter without destroying the turbo. It's ok. Go back to your TV and you movies. They never lie. Hollywood is nothing but truth
You need to look up "vl turbo spool and dose closeup" and tell me if its "spinning backwards" lmao! if you can find a turbo that spins 15k rpm one way then in a split second spin the other way, il pay 50k for it. Fucking retard! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
@bnz500 Here is a quarter, no go by a clue!! The return pressure trys to spin the turbo the wrong way, hence the flutter. You can't see it happen, but it does. It was a problem on early turbo Saab vehicles when the wastegate would fail. The forces air pressure would cause the flutter and destroy the turbo vanes and bearings. Ignorance is bliss, you must be in paradise
@thomcasey2005 Go and buy a car with a turbo and no bov. maintain it as you would any other car and see what happens. Unlike your stupid fast & furious ass I actualy own a turbo (VL BT1 Interceptor) which is over 20 years old and has NEVER run a bov and still has the factory turbo. Iv owned two others and never had any problems with the fucking turbo spinning backwards (LMAO) So unlike you I talk from actual experience. look up "best vl dose" I used to own the purple one fucking retard.
@bnz500 How old are you, 12?? a BOV has NOTHING to do with Fast and Furious. My Talon TSiTurbo came from the factory with a BOV. I guarantee that the manufacturers know far more than you. Also, unless a vehicle has been modified (aftermarket BOV and/or GM MAFS to allow for external release of the BOV), the BOV will be recirculated into the intake before the turbo (as my factory stock system is). Are you saying that your little chipmunk fart sound is how it came form the factory?
also NEVER vent the BOV to atmosphere. it makes the ecu confused and doesn't add enough fuel to the A/F ratio b/c it thinks the car isn't getting enough air (hence the term recirculating). you can hear it well anyway even recirculated. the only way you can vent is with a MAF translator and a GM MAS, but there is no need for those unless you plan on running a 16g turbo and the other necessary add-ons that go with the turbo upgrade.
get NGK plugs they make a hell of a difference.and for people skeptical about owning an eclipse, im touching 150000 miles on my gst and it runs immaculate. maintain it and do not drive the piss out of it all the time and it will run easily to 200000 miles. the head gasket, water pump and timing belt are the life of these cars, make sure those are inspected and changed when needed. as far as blow-off valves go, get rid of the stock crap one and get your hands on a 1st gen valve or a greddy or XS
i have a GST too. My cousin replace my BOV. greddy.. btw did u change your sparkplugs. I can see that u change the sparkplugs wires. pm me if you did. << newbie to cars.
If you beat on it and dont take care of it then yes there is a chance that it will break down and cause you problems. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I've taken good care of mine and have had little to no problems with it besides routine maintenance
yeah because i got this gst for cheap but i need to change the head gaskets and the guy thats going to change them said that this type of cars and mitsubishi have to many problem and break down thats why i wanted to ask someone who had one you know
is it turbo converted or is it the GST ( turbo originally) ?? i want a eclipse but cant find any with turbos and i dont know if its to expensive and difficulty to install a turbo-kit :P
Its a real GST. I've been in the dsm game for quite some time already and let me tell you it's not worth it to try and install a turbo in a GS or RS. You will stick more money in the car then its worth. Wait until a GST or a GSX comes along, you will be happy you waited
@skyline9878 no its not bro.. its good but the timing in those cars is a DICK to fix and they go wrong all the time. I had a GST n it was off twice .. i was checking it every oil change .
@Sliderboy1231 Please name the fastest 4 cylinder engine in the world? If the car is treated right it is very reliable. I ve had 3 GSXs and one gst and when treted right they are amazing cars with almost unlimited potential for street or strip. Not to mention they are gorgeous
No. The stock ones on 2G eclipses are complete shit because they cant hold boost so most owners swap them out. After you have a aftermarket one its unlikely that you would ever have to replace it.
stupid weak plastics pieces of shit that leak at 12psi to be exact lol ya I swaped mine out for a greddy type rs, setup for atmospheric dump with no running/idle issues at all
Actually, I'm looking to replace mine because it leaks at 2psi. It's the original bov that came on the car so it must have gotten really weak over the years of use. The fucking thing constantly leaks, I'm looking into either the Turbo XS or the GReddy type RZ
I have the greddy type rs and love it the type s is hard to find apparently but it also works well...I dont like the "mouse fart" sound on a bov tho, I prefer the "whoosh"
Yes, Stock TURBO eclipses have Bovs and intercoolers. My BOV is aftermarket which is part of the reason you can hear it, and the open air filter helps to with the noise. The stock BOV doesnt make any noise
see that tube going from my bov back into the intake? thats the recirculation tube. If thats not on their its called "venting". Thats why you should get a bov that has a fitting so you can recirculate it. As for the HKS you asked about, I dont have any personal experience with it but I do know that you can buy a recirculation fitting for it.
First IM going to assume that you have a TSI or a TSI AWD because if the car isnt turbo then you cant get a bov. If it is turbo then yes you can get one and it wont mess the car up at all. Just make sure it can be recirculated like mine the Turbo XS h-34. A greddy type S or RS would work also. If you dont recirculate it back into the intake then the car wont run right. The psshhh sound wont be as loud but its not worth sacrificing performance.
Really? When I just had the BOV on I couldnt hear it when it was recirculated. Now that I put on that K&N though, wow what a difference. Its really noticable and spool up is loud.
Well, then again I just put the intake on not long ago and then the car had some trouble for a while and I just got it running again. I still have the stock filter on it because I drove it once since I put the intake on.
Thanks man. Its a Turbo XS H-34, As for the RFL, run something that can be re-circulated. With a open air filter and hard piping you will hear it when its recirculated if thats what your afraid of. Mine is pretty loud, it turns heads and grabs attention
lol! yea everything in there is fake, the turbo is fake, the blow off valve, boost controller, or in fact the entire 4G63 TURBO engine is all fake. I'm not sure if your trying to be smart or not but its not fake....
Quick question. I bought the same filter you did a few months ago and couldnt find the adapter for it. So I asked the local shop and they said I bought the filter for the 3000gt, but every site I go to shows the filter I bought, I just cant find the adapter. Where did you get yours?

anyone know how much $ would it take to turbo charge a car? Just an estimated price noting too accurate, oh yea plus labor too. plz let me know tnx.

Sounds like shit. No bov+intercooler+dose pipe sounds fucking awesome.
bnz500 2 years ago
Your comment sounds like complete nonsense. Every turbo car has a BOV somewhere along the way. With out a BOV a turbo car would not work dumbass, you need something to hold boost and then release it hence the whoosh you get. Also all turbo cars have a intercooler, a larger intercooler wont make anything sound different. And WTF is a dose pipe???

ThePumpkinKing1606 2 years ago
@Natedogg8922 actually some turbo cars do run without an intercooler.
loucks428 2 years ago
Some turbo cars don't have intercoolers, they are HIGHLY recommended since it keeps the cylinders from detonating under extremely hot air, but not needed if you don't really want one and want your car to possibly take a shit. A BoV is also not needed, it causes turbo surge which will blow the turbo out, but also not needed lol.
Technically the kid is right, those parts are not needed but will make the car/turbo possibly blow. The noise he hears from no BoV is turbo surge, which is VERY bad.
Londil 2 years ago
@Natedogg8922
z31 300zx turbo.
factory t3 (or t25 depending on the year) no bov, no intercooler. stock around 4.5psi. im just saying not EVERY turbo car has a bov or an intercooler lol
jsmorel86 1 year ago
@Natedogg8922 technically not all turbo cars have intercoolers...the rear mount sts turbo system doesnt require you to run an intercooler because by the time the air gets back to the motor its already chilled to the most prestine temp possible.
Chris7Shuman 1 year ago
@Natedogg8922 a larger intercooler with larger intercooler piping will have a different sound then a smaller intercooler/piping
2steppinTaco 11 months ago
@Natedogg8922 Actually you are the dumbass. All turbo cars do not have BOVs...most of them actually have waste gates. Do your home work before you open your mouth.
hellspeaker87 8 months ago
@Natedogg8922
Without the bov to vent the excess pressure this surge continues and can damage the turbine wheel over time.
crisis2a 8 months ago
@crisis2a a wastegate is not going to flutter/ or make any noise unless its a dump pipe system. then all your going to hear is screaming exhaust. all a wastegate is, is a valves that opens under a set amount of boost, and bypass's the exhaust gas around the turbo impeller, so the turbo will not make any more boost/ PSI. in conclusion. a wastegate is a system to maintain a certain boost level. it;s not going to make any flutter noise.
fordlightning 7 months ago
@Natedogg8922 However, there is no NEED fore a bov. I personally prefer the sound of wastegate flutter. On the grand scale of things it only minimally shortens the life of the turbo
crisis2a 8 months ago
@crisis2a wastegate flutter? what? you mean turbo chatter? that's the sound of the compressed air going back into the turbo, because there was no BOV to vent to atmosphere, or, recirculate back into the intake system before the turbo.
fordlightning 7 months ago
@Natedogg8922 ok. i realized this comment is a year old.. but. a turbo car doesn't HAVE to have a BOV. it's very unhealthy for a turbo to not have one. but it will stiff run, and drive... some race cars dont have BOV's so they can spool faster/ get into boost faster.
and i know a lot of cars that from the factory, do not run with an intercooler. a turbo car once again does not HAVE to have a intercooler. all an intercooler does, it cool down the air after the turbo going to the throttle body.
fordlightning 7 months ago
whats a dose pipe??
jaycruz02 2 years ago
A steel pipe attached to the face of your turbo. Search "crazy dose"
bnz500 2 years ago
The sound from not having a BoV is called turbo surge, it happens when the throttle closes and the air is pushed back through the turbo making it spin backwards, that causes the turbo to tare itself apart (in short terms, the turbo blows up/takes a shit). As anyone will tell you, turbo surge is possibly the worse thing that could happen to a boosted car besides running too lean or having a heat soaked intercooler/running no intercooler with extremely hot air.
Londil 2 years ago
OMG LOL "spin backwards"??? FAIL!

Londil 2 years ago
Alright, let me give you the break down since I have sometime to waste. The turbo has a impeller and a compressor, the impeller is spun by exhaust gasses, the compressor (as you may be able to tell by the name) compresses the air which sends it into the insake manifold and into the cylinders. Without a BoV something happens called turbo stall, in which the pressure isn't released upon the throttle closing and it makes the compressor stop spinning at an unnaturally high timing.
Londil 2 years ago

Hollywood is nothing but truth
thomcasey2005 1 year ago
You need to look up "vl turbo spool and dose closeup" and tell me if its "spinning backwards" lmao! if you can find a turbo that spins 15k rpm one way then in a split second spin the other way, il pay 50k for it. Fucking retard! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
bnz500 1 year ago
@bnz500 Here is a quarter, no go by a clue!! The return pressure trys to spin the turbo the wrong way, hence the flutter. You can't see it happen, but it does. It was a problem on early turbo Saab vehicles when the wastegate would fail. The forces air pressure would cause the flutter and destroy the turbo vanes and bearings. Ignorance is bliss, you must be in paradise
thomcasey2005 1 year ago
@thomcasey2005 Go and buy a car with a turbo and no bov. maintain it as you would any other car and see what happens. Unlike your stupid fast & furious ass I actualy own a turbo (VL BT1 Interceptor) which is over 20 years old and has NEVER run a bov and still has the factory turbo. Iv owned two others and never had any problems with the fucking turbo spinning backwards (LMAO) So unlike you I talk from actual experience. look up "best vl dose" I used to own the purple one fucking retard.
bnz500 1 year ago
@bnz500 How old are you, 12?? a BOV has NOTHING to do with Fast and Furious. My Talon TSiTurbo came from the factory with a BOV. I guarantee that the manufacturers know far more than you. Also, unless a vehicle has been modified (aftermarket BOV and/or GM MAFS to allow for external release of the BOV), the BOV will be recirculated into the intake before the turbo (as my factory stock system is). Are you saying that your little chipmunk fart sound is how it came form the factory?

just wanted to say that callo is right and wrong without a tune the he is correct but u can tune around not recerculating the bov :) anywhoo props :)
yamigarasux 2 years ago
also NEVER vent the BOV to atmosphere. it makes the ecu confused and doesn't add enough fuel to the A/F ratio b/c it thinks the car isn't getting enough air (hence the term recirculating). you can hear it well anyway even recirculated. the only way you can vent is with a MAF translator and a GM MAS, but there is no need for those unless you plan on running a 16g turbo and the other necessary add-ons that go with the turbo upgrade.

Dam you know your cars bro. lol mybe you help me find place online to sup up my eclips.
IITECHxNiNEII 2 years ago
get NGK plugs they make a hell of a difference.and for people skeptical about owning an eclipse, im touching 150000 miles on my gst and it runs immaculate. maintain it and do not drive the piss out of it all the time and it will run easily to 200000 miles. the head gasket, water pump and timing belt are the life of these cars, make sure those are inspected and changed when needed. as far as blow-off valves go, get rid of the stock crap one and get your hands on a 1st gen valve or a greddy or XS
callofdutyscout32 2 years ago 3
i have a GST too. My cousin replace my BOV. greddy.. btw did u change your sparkplugs. I can see that u change the sparkplugs wires. pm me if you did. << newbie to cars.

hey is it true that eclipse break down alot cause i bought a gst and now they got me freaking out
JLAudioFan1 2 years ago
If you beat on it and dont take care of it then yes there is a chance that it will break down and cause you problems. Take care of it and it will take care of you. I've taken good care of mine and have had little to no problems with it besides routine maintenance
Natedogg8922 2 years ago
yeah because i got this gst for cheap but i need to change the head gaskets and the guy thats going to change them said that this type of cars and mitsubishi have to many problem and break down thats why i wanted to ask someone who had one you know
JLAudioFan1 2 years ago
is it turbo converted or is it the GST ( turbo originally) ?? i want a eclipse but cant find any with turbos and i dont know if its to expensive and difficulty to install a turbo-kit :P
ludriks222 2 years ago
Its a real GST. I've been in the dsm game for quite some time already and let me tell you it's not worth it to try and install a turbo in a GS or RS. You will stick more money in the car then its worth. Wait until a GST or a GSX comes along, you will be happy you waited
Natedogg8922 2 years ago
stick to GST or GSX do not convert not worth it. Plus the 4g63t is the best 4 cyl turbo engine out there

Not to mention they are gorgeous

do you ever have to replace BOVs?
loadedlover12 2 years ago
No. The stock ones on 2G eclipses are complete shit because they cant hold boost so most owners swap them out. After you have a aftermarket one its unlikely that you would ever have to replace it.
Natedogg8922 2 years ago
stupid weak plastics pieces of shit that leak at 12psi to be exact lol ya I swaped mine out for a greddy type rs, setup for atmospheric dump with no running/idle issues at all
Dert666 2 years ago
Actually, I'm looking to replace mine because it leaks at 2psi. It's the original bov that came on the car so it must have gotten really weak over the years of use. The fucking thing constantly leaks, I'm looking into either the Turbo XS or the GReddy type RZ
JStrateger 2 years ago
I have the greddy type rs and love it the type s is hard to find apparently but it also works well...I dont like the "mouse fart" sound on a bov tho, I prefer the "whoosh"

do stock eclipses have BOVs and intercoolers?
loadedlover12 2 years ago
Yes, Stock TURBO eclipses have Bovs and intercoolers. My BOV is aftermarket which is part of the reason you can hear it, and the open air filter helps to with the noise. The stock BOV doesnt make any noise

type in hks ssq bov its the 7th one down and the run time is 7 sec it that a recirculated bov.???
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
no its not thats a vented bov
drzflyest4 3 years ago
ok cuz when i got my talon that tube was caped off...should i fix that
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
if you wanna recirculate yea if not it doesn matter
drzflyest4 3 years ago
how do you recirculated your bov.
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
see that tube going from my bov back into the intake? thats the recirculation tube. If thats not on their its called "venting". Thats why you should get a bov that has a fitting so you can recirculate it. As for the HKS you asked about, I dont have any personal experience with it but I do know that you can buy a recirculation fitting for it.
Natedogg8922 3 years ago
i was thinking about geting the hks bov. do you know anything about them
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
ok thats what i wanted to know thanks
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
ok i have a 95 talon and i want to get a bov. but some ppl. say dont cuz it will fuck it up any help about this would be good thanks
fastcarkid24 3 years ago
First IM going to assume that you have a TSI or a TSI AWD because if the car isnt turbo then you cant get a bov. If it is turbo then yes you can get one and it wont mess the car up at all. Just make sure it can be recirculated like mine the Turbo XS h-34. A greddy type S or RS would work also. If you dont recirculate it back into the intake then the car wont run right. The psshhh sound wont be as loud but its not worth sacrificing performance.
Natedogg8922 3 years ago
Nice man. I have a 92 talon tsi with hard piping and an open filter, but I can hardly even hear the turbo spool up, let alone the BOV.
JTsiTalon92 3 years ago
Really? When I just had the BOV on I couldnt hear it when it was recirculated. Now that I put on that K&N though, wow what a difference. Its really noticable and spool up is loud.
Natedogg8922 3 years ago
Well, then again I just put the intake on not long ago and then the car had some trouble for a while and I just got it running again. I still have the stock filter on it because I drove it once since I put the intake on.
JTsiTalon92 3 years ago
Sounds sweet... What kind of bov? I'm thinking of getting RFL 4 my gs-t. Fuck the haters... GS-t= Honda eater
DNeli407 3 years ago
Thanks man. Its a Turbo XS H-34, As for the RFL, run something that can be re-circulated. With a open air filter and hard piping you will hear it when its recirculated if thats what your afraid of. Mine is pretty loud, it turns heads and grabs attention
Natedogg8922 3 years ago
my good friend has the same BOV set up but u cant even hear his, u hear his waste gate instead hahaah
