I have read the Qur'an in its entirety, most of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim Hadith, Reliance of the Traveller in its entirety, and the Muq'addimah by ibn Khaldun. As an undergrad I studied under, and was TA for, world-renowned scholar of Islam and the Muslim Middle East, Dr. Paul Chevvedden. I have an MA in history, and almost certainly know more about Islam than you. You can quickly drop any pretentiousness on that score.

There are no clean hands in this conflict. Israel has been threatened with destruction since its inception, but that does not justify the crimes it commits against the Palestinians or its unwillingness to negotiate a fair peace. At the same time the radicals in Palestine serve as a stumbling block to peace when they talk about Israel being wiped of the map and killing all of the Jews. The reactions under such circumstances by both sides are understandable but not justifiable

As an undergrad I studied under, and was TA for, world-renowned scholar of Islam and the Muslim Middle East, Dr. Paul Chevvedden. I have an MA in history, and almost certainly know more about Islam than you. You can quickly drop any pretentiousness on that score.

There are no clean hands in this conflict. Israel has been threatened with destruction since its inception, but that does not justify the crimes it commits against the Palestinians or its unwillingness to negotiate a fair peace. At the same time the radicals in Palestine serve as a stumbling block to peace when they talk about Israel being wiped of the map and killing all of the Jews. The reactions under such circumstances by both sides are understandable but not justifiable

Israel has been forced into a condition in which fear is dominant emotions and seeing a rocket hit their friends house only makes them more apt to fall for lies. if the public know that the Palestinians are ready to negotiate and do not simply want all Jews killed then xenophobia in Israel would be decreased. Now is violence or peaceful resistance more effective in achieving a politcal goal? I think the jury is still on that one. I would prefer peace but I will not tell the palenstinians which they ought to do.
