@Rtree115 the genesis actually uses the theta engine .. an engine developed by hyundai, for hyundai .. and mitssubishi and chrysler use the world engine .. which is based on the theta motor but manufacturers made a few changes on it .. the evo is semi closed and heads are a little different .. the hyundai engines are 100% hyundai while the others have a lot of koren mixed with a bit of japanese and american since most part of the engines are the same as the theta

@silvercsrt yup .. used to have a turboed neon r/t 98 before that was quite quick ... with the gen on stock turbo, tune and downpipe ive been able tu pull a 13.9@ 101-102mph consistent ... you need turbo upgrades to wake up this car but the good thing is that turbo upgrades are quite cheap for this car .. im now running a GT30 turbo .. with turboback, intake but still on stock fmic and im pulling low 12's@115-116mph consistently with around 18psi of boost
@iamElijah WRONG!! you do the research budy. The BLOCK was designed by the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) companies(Chrysler, Mitsubishi & Hyundai). Everything else in the 4b11 including the block internals, head and anything inbetween were developed by Mitsu for their own purpose (Evo X). All other companies did the same for their own vehicles.

It uses a propriety engine block made for Hyundai, it has different sleeving and exhaust manifold ports along with a oil sump scavenging system. Your correct on the crank though, thats standard. Meaning you can install a Brian Crower or ERL crank inside the Genny Motor.
head is also different, adjust timing on intake only.

The rule of "no replacement for displacement" doesn't just apply to muscle cars. If the 3.6 had a good sized turbo with all the supporting mods, it would be more powerful. With that being said, you would probably have to install a new rotating assembly due to the higher compression of the 3.6 to handle the boost. Not true of the 2.0 Coupe.
Actually guys kia is not part of mazda. Mazda is Japanese and Hyundai and Kia is Korean brand. and hyundai is not a Luxury division of Kia. They are two completly different brands to start out with but now Hyundai bought Kia out.
I pulled up to the side of one of these on my way way to the gym today. You could tell that he had a intake and full exhaust because the turbo spool was loud and you heard it from the exhaust. I guess he thought I wanted to race him ( I was in my C63) because he took off. He had to be packin power because he spun through 2nd and chirped 3rd.

@old12school3 I don't own either, but from what I understand turbo cars are MUCH more upgradeable than NA cars from the factory. They're already some-what built to handle the turbo and there are many more aftermarket parts for the 2.0t than the 3.8. You can get some pretty good numbers with some tuning! and yes the 2.0T(urbo) is the only one that comes with the turbo

@42OKing69 Anything you ad over stock besides airflow upgrades will mostly wear the engine faster than stock. But even things like a CAI can damage your MAP sensor and lead to the engine sucking up rain more easily than the stock air box. These things are rare but do happen. I would say a CAI, port and flowed UIM and exhaust system would free up some trapped ponies. Be ware that P&F will void the warranty, some will void for CAI and exhaust too, check with your dealer before hand.
@mygalill it's not happening, hyundai isn't creating a new luxury brand, otherwise the genesis would've been marketed under it. and the genesis coupe's front sub frame was altered from the sedan so a v8 can't fit, at least the v8's hyundai is currently making. Hyundai is bringing another luxury car that's a step up from the genesis to the US market, but as far as a whole new company it's too expensive for the pay off

Reason being, I've always been a fan in turbo engines. A turbo car wtih a BOV kit!!! thats wsup ESPECIALLY in a gen coupe! they have some turbochargers(ATP GARRETT) you can get for the 2.0t that'll crank up another 100hp and up. @RaizaR1 You may be right. I only run NA Im still learning about turbo setups. But I heard something like that in a supra once and this guy said it was a greddy bov, I cant call it dude. Sounds cool regardless lol.

@boschlouis best thing to do is make sure your fuel pumps react as quickly as possible, change out the ecu, all else fails..... dont give a shit and burn your clutch to hell :)

Thanks bro for the info but Im still caught in the crossfire of the turbo and the 3.8 . All I can see diff is the engn size and that thrs a 100 hrspwr diff. Ur right there is nothing more hotter than SSSppppSSSS of the BOV, but the 3.8 can also b turbo. So what r pros and cons of that

Lots props on the power that uv acomplished , I have a question soon I will be try to get a Genesis my self and dnt now if i should get the turbo or the V6 ? Some one plz give me some feedback on this.

@boschlouis If your willing to put some dough down for a genesis coupe, which you should or else its just not right. Honestly, i'd go with the 2.0t. Reason being, I've always been a fan in turbo engines. A turbo car wtih a BOV kit!!! thats wsup ESPECIALLY in a gen coupe! they have some turbochargers(ATP GARRETT) you can get for the 2.0t that'll crank up another 100hp and up. But, your talking bout $1,500 right there.
