With the standalone ems, does it get rid of that 'throttle hang' when transitioning from on-throttle to off-throttle? I hate that so much about my Z, it makes me have to shift so slowly, having to wait for the revs to come down before putting it into next gear.
@OCofthe3 I never noticed this, but after reading your comment and looking at the tacho it does seem to pause slightly before revs drop when I up change. However if I wasn't fixated on the tacho I'd never have known - so I don't give it another thought. The z 'box is pretty heavy duty and doesn't quick shift like say an S2000 box, so I don't slam it through the gears.
I did some more research into this and other people have noticed this problem as well. People on the 350z-tech forum have observed some sort of delayed closing of the throttle butterfly. One guy said he was able to tune it out in Speed Density mode with a Turbo XS UTEC (im not familiar with this system). I think tuning this out would go a long way in speeding up the shifts making the car even quicker. I can shift a T56's out of firebird faster than my z, and that box is chunkey!

@OCofthe3 probably an anti-polution measure i.e. slow burn to ensure all fuel mixture is burnt for cleaner emissions.
