when I played mgs4 ... I had a feeling, if u just cut away the gameplay, u got urself a really good movie (almost). -and a long movie... can't remember how long those cutscenes were alltogether.
you can't call yourself a gamer if you didn't worship this game. The first MGS is the greatest video game of all time because it's the only one that truly makes you think about important things in real life. It is emotionally intoxicating, action packed, well written, amazing score, and extremely educational. I wish people who don't play video games would be exposed to the Metal Gear series because you will not be the same again after playing through them, gamer or not. They are simply amazing..
But seriously... screw MGS4's inane retcons and stupid plot developments... MGS1 is the best in the series. Best music, best characters and best plot ever made in a video game. It felt like Kojima was truly genuine in attempting to get his point across... about genes not determining your fate and how you should choose life, no matter what. And lots of other stuff.
Gray Fox's death traumatized me for life. Well, okay, maybe not, but a sad moment nonetheless. What a classic.

mgs 3 was the best for me. loved the story and gameplay. then mgs 1. then mgs 4. i hated raiden from mgs 2 so i didn't like it as much as the others. still loved it because of the story though.

In the end of the game I was shocked to hear "Not yet, Snake! This is not over yet!". My first thought was "Are you fucking immortal?! DIE ALREADY!".
When they both crashed and Snake couldn't escape because his leg (I think) was stuck and Liquid came to him with FAMAS in his hands, I thought "Man, Snake, please don't die!"

I actually remember getting the old Playstation Magazines with the demo disks. That is how i very first heard of and played MGS. The demo ended once you found the darpa chief. Been a fan ever since. Thumbs up if you were one of the people who very first played MGS on that demo disk. Its been quite a few years since then, where the hell does the time go??? lol....

Metal Gear Solid it's a great reflection of a lot of topics. Along with Suikoden, Shin Megami Tensei, Driver and maybe GTA it's my fav sagas.

When they both crashed and Snake couldn't escape because his leg (I think) was stuck and Liquid came to him with FAMAS in his hands, I thought "Man, Snake, please don't die!"

@EdikShepherd Definitely. I always thought that the Patriots are "in" us, especially in that scene in MGS2 when Solidus says that the clues of the Patriots' identity exist "inside you". Though he meant Raiden, I always noticed how he points directly at the camera when he says that. I always thought it meant that we shackle ourselves by not thinking for ourselves and not questioning the authorities, so the system that keeps us easily manipulated exists within us.

Anyone else shit bricks when this the mgs1 battle music played at the end of MGHS 4 during the 1v1 fight with ocelot? holy jezzer.... i shit bricks many a time that day MGS FOR LIFE!!! (and yes i played the mgs1 version on the PS1 at the time it came out, godam it was epic for a game of its time... please, someonebody, dont remake this game just make it compatable for the xbox for ps3 pleaseeeeee. i still have the original game disks for this also, they must be worth something these days...

I actually remember getting the old Playstation Magazines with the demo disks. That is how i very first heard of and played MGS. The demo ended once you found the darpa chief. Been a fan ever since. Thumbs up if you were one of the people who very first played MGS on that demo disk. Its been quite a few years since then, where the hell does the time go??? lol....
