  • Look me up on DP..... Possmguts.

And yes.... those guys are a huge help and can save you lots of cash.

  • Installing a new set of Delco 60G plugs this weekend before it gets too cold out.... pretty smokey right now

  • Guess we know why your starter sounded so weak when we met up that day. Heck of a lot of spin time when those glows were shot. The 28MT can't handle that kind of abuse. It's one reason i don't like them over the direct drive 27MT monster starters. They'll spin and spin until the batteries keel over, and not have anywhere near the damage the 28MT would have.

  • @iamdave0887 Yeah that starter had taken a LOT of abuse since I had it installed in 08..and it was a scrapyard pull then, so it's possible it was well abused already. I can't complain, it served me well, but I certainly did beat the piss out of it for a long time before replacing the GP's.

  • @Oshawapilot have you since replaced it or it it still hanging onto life?

  • @iamdave0887 Replaced it last week. It hung on for a long while after our vacation but was getting slower and slower. Yeah, even slower than it was believe it or not. :) If it wasn't for my 8 new glowplugs it would have never started at the end.

  • @Oshawapilot engine probably wants to do a flip now i'll bet.

  • in malaysia, trucks, buses, pickups& other diesels everywhere blow black smoke

  • @Astonhooi Cool.

  • Nice video bud. I was cringing after about 10 seconds of cranking though on the first part. :)

  • White smoke on a diesel is unburned fuel, yes. Black smoke is incomplete combustion..

  • @Oshawapilot isnt that the same thing?

  • @Oshawapilot Black smoke is burned fuel !

  • @barthoedemaker Black smoke is *partially* burned fuel, AKA, incomplete combustion. A diesel burning 100% of it's fuel makes no smoke at all.

  • @Oshawapilot That's true. I have a tuned turbo diesel engine in my van, puts out only black smoke on the first acceleration demand, after that it burns clean on acceleration to. I do see all the other american v8 truck diesel vids here on youtube having way to much black smoke, why are they running so rich injectors?

  • @barthoedemaker There is a certain segment of the North American population who seem to think that spewing copious amounts of black smoke everywhere is "Cool".

  • @Oshawapilot lol oke :-)

  • @Oshawapilot I'm from Europe so we don't have the V8 diesels much, I'm currently having a 2 ton Peugeot Boxer with 4 cylinder, 2.8 Liter HDI engine, putting out over 400 nm torque and 170 hp. It goes max 173 km/h on GPS. So not bad I think :-) It's limited with a 5 speed, the 3 liters version has a 6 speed gearbox, and I'm sure that's capable of 200 km/h.

  • @Oshawapilot Watch the tractorpulling vids, these diesel seem to run very rich for a reason I guess? Most turbo diesel stock from factory smoke black when you accelerate, mostly the VW's here in Europe, so I guess a little bit of extra fuel is good for the engine. A 100% combustion can never be reached?

  • what is the white smoke ? unburnt fuel ?

  • good video, i enjoyed it!!
