@thejacobs128 Mainly because guns lack range. Today there is a need for something that can destroy targets further away. However there is still a need for guns for close range protection or land attack. On this ship class there will be two 76mm cannons and one 35mm. So there are some just not many

I think this will be my fav frigate, at least for air defense. The norwegian KNM Nansen witch is ASW frigates (anti submarine) along side the Ivar Huitfeldts class (anti air) would make a superb match. Then we have both anti submarine frigs and anti air frigs :D Scandinavia ftw. New allianse anyone? ;)
