@DeltaPhi79 The Quadro was a high end at its time, the other two were high mid. Intel GMA 4500M is beginner back then. Now? It's a joke to any real gamers, hell even to beginner gamers, as they will experience how horrible it is. I do admit the Intel HD graphics this year/last year was OK, I'd still say it's in the low end. I have a GeForce 310M on my laptop, and it's a low-med end.

Depends if you have hdmi or s video out. Im not sure about yours, but my hp pavilion has hdmi. If it's a circular port, it's s video; a flat looking port is hdmi.
Try using your VGA or S-Video cable and connect one of them from your computer to your TV...then select your PC as the source and it should work out alright :)

Same here. Only I have a dv6748us. I bought mine in Feb. 2007 brand new and it's still going. I even accidentally tripped over the cord and knocked it off the table while it was open and playing a movie, and it is still living, didn't even phase it!
No major problems so far. Though they tend to run a bit hot, so I have the back end propped up on two rolls of tape so it can get more airflow...

never buy a hp laptop or computer, all of their computers have defect. Hp wont recognize the defect as their problem because the damage comes after the warranty expires . HP laptops and computers just turnoff and never turns on again after the warranty approximately 1.5years of usage .

Dell, they can last longer than HP. My previous HP was the pavilion 6000, and it had so many problems to fix. I regret buying it at first place but my older dell laptops did not gave me problem in my experience. Try other products like asus or sony vaio.

Hi, I'm want to get a high end laptop, and want to know if I'm making the right decisions in terms of what's in it. It has 2 GTX 280m in SLI (I know, right?) and an Intel QX9300 2 Quad Core processor. Never, ever buy a HP, the entire dv6000 series has defective hardware. I had it for about a year then all of a sudden the wireless decided to crap out. The driver was still there but it just did not work. Then the battery stopped charging at 12%, so it's useless. I send it back to HP, they say they have fixed it...no still the same problems. So I go online and find dozens of forums with people having the same problems....avoid HP...seriously.
hp is a gamble some of the models are high quality must have computers but there are also unreliable peices of crap so make sure you research hp computers carfully b4 you deside to by one

DONT get an hp. It may look real nice and have all these features, but most of the time your hp dies just after the warranty and hp won't do anything.
hp's also overheat so much it can probably burn you if you leave it on your legs too long.
Get a dell.
If you have a low budget, then get an acer.
But if you get an hp, your gonna regret it later on.

never buy a hp laptop or computer, all of their computers have defect. Hp wont recognize the defect as their problem because the damage comes after the warranty expires . HP laptops and computers just turnoff and never turns on again after the warranty approximately 1.5years of usage .

Get HP, I don't know what type you will get but when I was customizing the computer parts it gave me a free upgrade on the hard drive from 500GB to 640GB

Dell, they can last longer than HP. My previous HP was the pavilion 6000, and it had so many problems to fix. I regret buying it at first place but my older dell laptops did not gave me problem in my experience. Try other products like asus or sony vaio.

Em meu Pavilion, uma falha grasseira ocerreu na placa mãe, e o suporte HP brasileira, se recusou em me atender.

i got one about four years ago and yeah its alrite at the start but when it stars filling up, startup and shutdown takes years.
and also hp are a bunch of theives if u want help they jus try and sell you something.
save your money and pay half price for a better desktop, please.
unless you want a laptop then go the dell route.

HP is ok, some laptops get heat problems very quickly (like my laptop). I would recommend HP Touchsmart for Home Desktop Users and HP Compaq for Business Desktop Users.

Mine just died. Motherboard hate. Office max insurance should be covering it. Given that that's the case, anyone know of any compatible higher end motherboards that would allow for some high performance dedicated graphics cards (e.g. geforce 9600+)? I want to see if I could potentially pay a bit extra and get better video performance since the thing's totalled anyway. With my current set up I couldn't run any new games.

Hi, I'm want to get a high end laptop, and want to know if I'm making the right decisions in terms of what's in it. It has 2 GTX 280m in SLI (I know, right?) and an Intel QX9300 2 Quad Core processor. I would also like Windows 7 Ultimate on it, but I don't know which bit to get (32 or 64) to be able to play all games (I'm planning on this being a gaming desktop replacement.). I don't know too much about bits, but with the processor and the OS, which bit should I get to play?

Oh, and by the way.....why is it not available? The motherboard crapped out SO MANY TIMES that it is now backordered. I'm hopefully getting a new motherboard with something better than this IGP, which he mistakes as a dedicated graphics card.

I have this one. Or had, at least. It broke twice. TWICE! The first was my fault, screen cracked. Second? My Vista got stolen, the video card overheated and fried, the motherboard fried, the processor fried, everything fried! And what did I do? I tried to install MythTV on it so I had an OS to run it on. The Video card always craps out on you, I really advise staying away from any computer with this graphics card. IT SUCKS.

I have hp compaq 6720s laptop and it has Intel centrino 2.10 GHz T8100 processor. 3MB L2 cache, 3GB RAM. Means it is a solid machine specs wise. Isn't it? Now it often has the problem of Ethernet card and one more thing that I found today is its caps lock key don't give any onscreen notification for caps lock on or off however its light works that is on the button. Please tell me solution if anybody knows. Thanks.

Never, ever buy a HP, the entire dv6000 series has defective hardware. I had it for about a year then all of a sudden the wireless decided to crap out. The driver was still there but it just did not work. Then the battery stopped charging at 12%, so it's useless. I send it back to HP, they say they have fixed it...no still the same problems. So I go online and find dozens of forums with people having the same problems....avoid HP...seriously.

i also didn't mention about how quickly it gets dirty... if you are a guy who don't care about how dirty or messy his laptop is than buy it.... if you touch it with your hands which you will by accident than it leaves marks and look very messy..it just doesn't feel like a laptop just because you need to put it on a table and use it otherwise it will get dirty or it will get warmed up too quickly

i've got this laptop and I'm fed up with it... every 30 minutes i have to hibernate it or shut it down just to let it cool down.... this guy didn't mention about the fact that you need to buy a laptop stander for this on which you have to keep it and it will cost you about £30 or the laptop stander might not even work as long is it doesn't have a fun with it.... :(
