Hello Seemethere24! Thank you for your very nice reply to my comment. I am glad that I submitted the comment. Very sorry to hear about your loss. I lost both parents within 4 months of each other, so I know what you went through. I have continued to listen to your dad's Old Trails composition over and over. I have both a wav and an mp3 version so I can listen while driving. It is a wonderful, soothing, relaxing melody that stays in my mind long after listening to it. God Bless. Bill
@Glinkaism1 It does.. sadly my dad passed away (ilovetrains63) so we won't be getting anymore of the beautiful arrangements.. but I'm thankful that people are still drawn to his wonderful music - thank you for your post!

Regarding comments left for Old Trails (Gunsmoke Radio Theme) Played on Tyros 2 by Dwayne (AKA-Ilovetrains63 on You Tube)
I just thought I would let everyone know that Dwayne passed away last summer, and that his music posted on you tube is just a wonderful memory, that remains.
Hello! What a great sound and "arrangement". Very relaxing and very pleasing. Well, you struck a nerve, as I am an avid Gunsmoke fan - have all but 2 or 3 of the radio shows. Collecting otr is a second hobby for me. I can remember when, where I was, and what I was doing when the first Gunsmoke show aired back in April, 1952. I have listened to your version over and over. I listen to it while building R/C model airplanes and to just unwind. Great work! More! Please! Bill
@williebuilt72 bill, thanks for posting that beautiful comment.. My father passed away last year.. I wish he could post and make many more beautiful arrangements such as this.. but please, keep listening to all of his songs.. you can subscribe if you like to my page - it is dedicated to his music.. my page is seemethere24, ok? thanks again...
Did you mention George Walsh was the main announcer? The guitar player in the Gunsmoke closing theme did a LOT of improvising. You play it straight. Your electronics does all the accompaniment? Wow. The theme borrows from the "Y'all Come To See Us When You Can" song. Tex Ritter sang a version, too.

Fuck, i was ready to blast you as i was looking for a recording from the fifties of this theme, then as im typing, im listening. this is really good, kind of soothing. Nice.
@MacGrurry Tyros is a keyboard.. My father used it to make his music.. I am his daughter.. I am glad you didn't blast him - he passed away last year.. Thanks for posting..
It certainly does have everything to do with the radio show! This was the theme song for the radio show...."Gunsmoke" starring William Conrad as Matt Dillon! Maybe that was before you were born. The radio program was on before they made the TV show with James Arness as Matt Dillon.
Thanks a lot my friend!!! This was the music to one of my favorite radio shows, back in the early '50's! Maybe one day for that album! ;o) Thanks again...Lloyd!!!
Nicely done. You managed to sneak in a train engine and a little track. Your videos are very robust - lots of voices and styles. Keep up the good work - several since you returned.
Thanks a lot!!! I try to "sneak" in as many trains as I can!lol ;o) John...I like all kinds of music...except "RAP," (I don't consider that music...lol), and try to be diversified as much as I can in playing songs!
It would be kind of boring to me if I only played one style of music!;o)
WOW...thanks for the great praise my friend!!!(blushing) I'm glad that you liked it!!!:o)
If you haven't already...check out the old radio programs where this theme song comes from. I have the link to the shows in the, (more info), upper right hand side of this page.
I like this melody and your beautiful clip. Thanks for sharing. *****
Best wishes Reg

Hey! Your arrangement is very, very close to a Rex Koury arrangement near the last of the radio series! Good going!
Has anyone else noticed that the Gunsmoke motif sounds like the chorus from the folksong, "Y'all Come To See Us When You Can."

Do I here traces of "Don't Fence Me In" in the theme? Never listened to this show or theme, but like OTR in general and very good cover.

i like the theme song with the clippity-clop horse sounds in background

Hiya David,
The horses didn't have their musical shoes on when I made this arrangement...so I couldn't use them.
