Fur coats are so fkin unecessary in this time and age, we don't need that anymore we have other clothes to keep us warm.

So the protestors are doing the right thing. Florence was amazing though :))

They are chanting "Shame shame, shame on you" because Harrods sell a fur coats. And this was also aimed at Florence and the Machine for promoting Harrods and their opening. I used to like Florence and the Machine and would have loved to see them live, but after this i will be sure to never give them a penny. I've lost a lot of respect for them.

Since finding out about this, i've found out about other instances of her wearing fur and using things like pigs heads in her music video. I'm sure her reputation and respect has decreased for a lot of people.

Which video would that be, cause I've seen all of them and saw no such thing, not to mention that if it did ever happen there would have already been a shitstorm over it. Nor has she ever worn a fur coat. You're making these things up just to have an excuse to dislike Florence. If you want to stop supporting her for whatever reason, fine, but don't make up bullshit lies just to do so. You lack serious credibility when you do that.

Also, i did not say she wears fur, i said she is promoting Harrods who continue to sell a seriously large amount of fur in their store.

And for the record, i love Florence's music, which is why i am so disappointed to hear about this. It was only the other week that i heard about her singing at Harrods.

@missliey you're judging an artist on their clothing, not their music. They did not set out in the music business to become judged on their fashion. If you're going to dislike a band, at least dislike them for their music, because that's all they really care about.

@KyleFairhurstGrist What you are saying makes no sense. It's not about fashion, i have no qualms with whether she wears jeans or dresses, jacket or cardigan, this is about cruelty. If she turned up with a coat made from human skin, or even perhaps the skin of an animal 'we' feel closer to (cat, dog..) you would not say it is just about fashion. You would (hopefully) say that is wrong. I like her music, i am just very disappointed at her (non-)ethical decisions.

OK, I know, killing animals for their fur isn't right but she's there working, gaining her money honestly. What's so wrong with that? I do not agree with killing animals for their fur but I love Florence more than any animal. So ye, that's all.

@missliey Okay but have you given any thought to her not knowing Harrods sells real fur coats instead of fake fur?Is Harrods over in England where she lives?Also as a life-long New Yorker I haven't heard of (or been to) Harrods and them selling real fur.I think someone should ask her about this but we can't dislike her before we know if she did this job knowingly.

@missliey Forget the bit about England;I just saw this was in London.Still don't think she knew. I don't know about the stores here selling real fur unless there is a big news story and I catch it.I think she would have less time to catch the news story about this store since she's a famous and busy artist.I'll again reiterate that people need to ask her about this.

@evileve18 Unfortunately i would say that it's extremely likely that she does know. It's well known over here in England that Harrods sell fur, there are weekly protests there which are fairly known about and her management were contacted by a lot of people to ask that she boycott Harrods opening to their unethical products. (They also sell Foie gras as well as fur). So i would say for sure she knew, but i guess the money was more important to her than ethics

I think it was because Harrods stock fur coats. The protestors were there because the media were there to report on the opening of the Harrods sale and Florence's performance. Their chants had nothing to do with Florence + the Machine...

Now, can somebody please correct me, but are the people screaming "Bring Adele" at the beginning of the video? If i'm right, then all i really have to say is that I love florence better than adele. In all honesty, adele has great songs, but Florence is just way humbler and also has great songs and is more passionate and has a better voice. That's what i think.
