That's a beautiful loving hommage to Jim. It must not be an easy thing to open your heart and talk abt very personnal things in front of an audience that things didn't always work out swimingly and that you have some regrets but it is surely very pure and courageous. Only a real man and a true friend can do that. Love u John Densmore!

I was a huge Doors fan, but I'm basically a simple working class guy from the burbs who doesn't have a university arts or film degree, therefore, pretty much according to Ray, people like me don't really have a right to be a Doors fan, as we couldn't possibly understand them?... I thought I got them pretty good?... I'm not the dumbest guy in the world, but hey? well there you go! I respect Densmore a lot!
@yellingelk I doubt he meant anything like that. They know better than anybody they have broad support from all walks of life, blue collar and white collar. They just happened to be educated kids from pretty priviledged backgrounds, but that's not what they were about.
I think people tend to dislike John b/c he's the most open and honest about Morrison. Morrison was talented, but he died an alcoholic. John's still alive. He's just trying to destroy the myth...b/c myths aren't reality.

@lonaticc lets be honest, since all the guys got songwriting credit for all the songs that were put out, ray, robbie and john really havent had to do shit for money for the last 35 years, at the very least since stone's movie made them popular again, so if john wants to put out a cd of nothing but his farts, thats his business cause he still gets a fat royalty check a couple months a year

Ummm...OK, guess I'll be the 1st to post in English! John Densmore was just fearured in the January 2010 issue of 'Modern Drummer' magazine (any fellow serious drummers out there probably read the article). That led me to dust off my few of"The Doors" CDs to hear Densmore's playing for the 1st time in @least 5 years. Wow, 'M.D.' mag was right in stating that Densmore is brilliant! His sound-in particular his ride sound-is 1 of a kind. He "serves the song", as we drummers say & strive for!
