If we planned on strengthening our defense against "terrorism", we needed to stay out of Afghanistan. We have formed ideology to support our misconception that occupying impoverished countries is the way to secure a "peaceful world". We have become the absolute bullies of the world. In the end of this "war" we will pull out of Afghanistan with absolutely no resolve. People of other countries don't like being treated as subjects of America against their will.

justin is right. a big part of the insurgency is fueled by iraqis avenging their brothers, mothers, sons, etc.. who were trying to flee the city and were killed approaching check points or were bombed for no reason. every innocent we kill equates to many insurgents added

No additional troops needed. They need a complete change in military tactics. Open up the Rules of Engagement. Declare war and wipe them up with everything we have in the arsenal.

Forget about civilian casualties and military casualty reporting just get them out there to WIN!

My calculations: Kill about 10 million of them and they will cave- in. If necessary

increment by another 5 million. Their people will then see the light of supporting the militants.
