because you're using your fingers, you get a more bassy sound, you need the pick to get the treble sound apparent in the song, it doesnt effect you technically, you just get the wrong sound and it doesnt have the same power

a little advice: try to use all fingers of the right hand (thumb = no finger)

Don't imagine your lefthand fingers are picks, they aren't. No up- and downstroke with them, only up. The konsequent is a bad solo coz of 'empty' strings.

I still have my Ibanez gio piece-o-crapo same colour and all, There nothin great but when you own 2 fender's its good to have a bedroom basher layin around.
