So as I said, I own multiple copies of all of her music as well as all the Instant Star DVD box sets. She is an incredible talent that needs to be around for a long long time, I hope that one day at least one of her songs will play the radio years after its release with the popularity of a Boston's "More Than a Feeling". She has absolutely the potential to achieve these heights, Keep up the good work!
Personally, my favorite songs of hers are all off of the Instant Star soundtracks and I truly love the re-release of “Skin” and “I Just Wanted Your Love”. As I said in the beginning, I love her music all inclusive, but feel she would prefer honesty when being told my feelings as a music purchasing customer. She had a successful recipe with the writing, and marketing geniuses behind Epitome, and their label. Refind that successful blend. We want you around for a long time and to hear these songs
....Look at the marketing behind Drake’s (little Jimmy) singing (talking). I mean I personally do not like rap but he is selling units and touring. Alexz would not have to seek pledges to perform live if she were selling large numbers of units. All that creative talent could potentially go to waste if it is not managed, marketed, and sold to the music buying population. Please think, we are the music buying public, where do we want to spend our money? This is bigger than our feelings.....
.....by not properly promoting her and marketing a sellable product to/for the masses. Whereas I do in fact love her solo musical style, I do not wish for her to become a flash in the pan. She has to compete with the Lady Gaga’s, the Britney’s the Adele’s the Christina’s, the Selena Gomez’s. Please make songs that will target that market, and use personal stylings as the album filler till the mass popularity is gained.
.....She must do this. Her “Instant Star” sound made her, and sold units, brought her to us, and her best songs from a sellable perspective are those and any that would sound like the same. Radio play and popularity sells units, and mass units sold sell out auditoriums and stadiums, not pledges. I find it discouraging that the other artists that contributed to the Instant Star songs have released albums of consequence, such as Lights. Alexz’s management company is doing her a disservice.....

I like this new song as I do all her music. That being said, I feel it crucial to provide constructive feedback of her new album effort and concert tour plans. As an artist, her skillset is heads and shoulders above the competition, but she is not releasing music designed to target the top 20 pop radio play market....

This may sound a little odd, but I feel a little like this song fits into a storyline with Lost that War. I feel like there needs to be a song to provide the opening to the story, but they sound to me like they cover the span and story of the same relationship.

Skipping Stone is unamité of all!Of all the newspaper articles there are some very good reviews, he even announced that 2012 will be your year, you're going to take off your career at a very good level. I love Alexz, and her music. I don't care where people heard about her first, I'm just glad that they have had the luck to find her. Personally Alexz' music has been there for me when nobody else was, when no words didn't make me feel better - her lyrics did. If this song can make someone else feel that way, does it really matter which avenue they took to find it? Just enjoy the music guys, music should unite us not seperate us.

Love the video. Demi talking about Alexz is just like any other fan talking about her, helpful... stop making Demi spreading Alexz's music into such a bad thing, jeez people. While, I do agree she should be popular on her own doing and not on someone else's, it's not exactly possible for someone to be famous without some sort of help from other people. Knowing her talent the longest doesn't make you a "real" fan, it just means you were fortunate enough to see her talent from the beginning.

I'd respect the fan base more if they had more common sense and weren't so in to telling Alexz what she wants to hear rather than what they should be telling her. Not only that, they just generally suck at doing anything to help her out. Sure, it's not Alexz's strong suit either, but I can see the line between her good fans and the others.
@Masaaku blaming failure on fans is stupid. Giving credit to fans for success is even more so. It's rare that fans are the cause of anyone pushing an artist into popularity. There are always more factors involved when it does happen. Alexz just hit a wall.
She gets attention, then loses it quickly. She needs media exposure consistently, which she can't get just by fans spamming her on twitter. Trending on twitter did her no good before. Why would it do anything now?

I know one awesome person in particular who has been emailing blogs left and right about Skipping Stone, and the response thus far as been 100% positive. If more people would've done that with, what's say, Voodoo or even Reloaded, maybe they wouldn't have flopped so bad.

idk y all of the fans love to argue. I remember when every1 argued over who was better between her and lights. Now its over publicity and demi. Why not just enjoy music. I love Alexz, and her music. I don't care where people heard about her first, I'm just glad that they have had the luck to find her. Personally Alexz' music has been there for me when nobody else was, when no words didn't make me feel better - her lyrics did. If this song can make someone else feel that way, does it really matter which avenue they took to find it? Just enjoy the music guys, music should unite us not seperate us.

Love the video. Demi talking about Alexz is just like any other fan talking about her, helpful... stop making Demi spreading Alexz's music into such a bad thing, jeez people. While, I do agree she should be popular on her own doing and not on someone else's, it's not exactly possible for someone to be famous without some sort of help from other people. Knowing her talent the longest doesn't make you a "real" fan, it just means you were fortunate enough to see her talent from the beginning.

I'd respect the fan base more if they had more common sense and weren't so in to telling Alexz what she wants to hear rather than what they should be telling her. Not only that, they just generally suck at doing anything to help her out. Sure, it's not Alexz's strong suit either, but I can see the line between her good fans and the others.

@Masaaku blaming failure on fans is stupid. Giving credit to fans for success is even more so. It's rare that fans are the cause of anyone pushing an artist into popularity. There are always more factors involved when it does happen. Alexz just hit a wall.
She gets attention, then loses it quickly. She needs media exposure consistently, which she can't get just by fans spamming her on twitter. Trending on twitter did her no good before. Why would it do anything now?

If more people would've done that with, what's say, Voodoo or even Reloaded, maybe they wouldn't have flopped so bad.

@Masaaku Compared to whom? People that are pushed by labels? That's an unfair comparison. Compare her to any indie artist who's doing music on THEIR OWN with no label to market them and with a fanbase that is not born out of said marketing and she's not that much different.
You can't blame fans for an independent artist not gaining traction. All I see are elitist fans acting high and mighty that they "do this" and everyone else sucks and is to blame for Alexz not being popular.
