As for my own perspective, while there are certainly other pressing issues in the world, I feel that the importance of wildlife conservation is something that should not be underestimated. I find that if you spend all your time arguing over which issue should get precedence over the others instead of actually making strides towards the one that is most important to you, very little ends up getting done.

Oh, and PrimateDynasty....humans ARE animals. Last time I checked, we eat, shit, and sleep, just like the rest of the creatures on Earth. We just fancy ourselves smarter than nature. We aren't.
You forget that we are apart of the cycle. Animals have been going extinct since before humans were here(if you believe that people weren't here first) but lots of animals have gone extinct without our help. Yes, we are a part of their extinction, but lots of factors play into them going out. And trying to stop it only messes up the cycle even more.

these are our brothers and sisters that had came a long way with us through million of years of evolution. They all and so do we start from that first simple molecule and then unicellular organism. We had indeed left them behind because we had evolved so that we are capable of doing more, we are capable of reasoning and logic, creative. I mean right now there's a satellite orbiting around Saturn, NASA has plans on incinerating it in Saturn's atmosphere because there are microscopic bacteria on the satellite that got on it before it left Earth's atmosphere and they believe that if it hits Titan or any other of Saturn's moons that may have water on it, the bacteria could start to multiply and evolve and then eventually make new life...

We always think that we are then center, which we are never. Animals are not good either (good and evil doesn't exist), they're just in a hard race for life and have always been. I agree partly with you, but only partly. I am an atheist, because in my opinion, religion blinds people. First of all, you are right that this is just a way to feel better about yourself. Electronics is great we would still be in the dark ages without it, but it needs to be turned off occassionally & nature needs to be turned on, enjoyed/appreciated/protected/saved, for they can't do it themselves. As the most evolved species, we were entrusted with the gardianship of all of nature -- trees/plants/grasslands/birds/animals/mammals/ocean life/mountains/lakes/seas. We are supposed to protect not destroy them. Theirs a song I listen to every night from Chris Rea "Road to Hell Pt2" that sums up todays destruction very well.

What state are you in? I'm still in high school and my Biology teacher teaches evolution, in fact she also teaches most famous theories of creation. I believe some states have outlawed it because it insults religion. This is the reason are system as a whole is failing, because of the lack of education. In my state at least evolution is aloud to be part of Biology in public schools.
@Mecingo Wyoming. I'm in high school, too, but we haven't gotten to evolution in Biology yet. And in your state, at least CREATION is allowed to be a part of Biology in your public school. I mean right now there's a satellite orbiting around Saturn, NASA has plans on incinerating it in Saturn's atmosphere because there are microscopic bacteria on the satellite that got on it before it left Earth's atmosphere and they believe that if it hits Titan or any other of Saturn's moons that may have water on it, the bacteria could start to multiply and evolve and then eventually make new life...

Electronics is great we would still be in the dark ages without it, but it needs to be turned off occassionally & nature needs to be turned on, enjoyed/appreciated/protected/saved, for they can't do it themselves. The great wonders of nature are truly the greatest creation of all. Land/mountains/oceans/skys/animals/birds/elephants/rhinos/big cats, the list just goes on & on & on. However when we try to fight for them, stop the killing we usually end up in jail and such.

I don't go to or subscribe to any religionl, because as I have said before - any religion I recognize is between God and me. Churches as a third party mediator just lose/change things in the translation. I don't need any religion to tell me the difference between right and wrong and what God truly want his "Children' to do.

Regarding the "it's evil and cruel to use animals for clothing" issue remember that GOD is the one who created animals, one of the first things that GOD did for humans was kill an animal and use it's skin to make protective clothing for them.

What state are you in? I'm still in high school and my Biology teacher teaches evolution, in fact she also teaches most famous theories of creation. I believe some states have outlawed it because it insults religion. This is the reason are system as a whole is failing, because of the lack of education. In my state at least evolution is aloud to be part of Biology in public schools.
