(Continued response to riddlerx333x): This is a natural progression of humans and only becomes negative when any of these groups are used negatively. Negative use shows itself with negative deeds (not words). The history of the NOI (over 75 years) shows minimal to no negative deeds. Racial group identification is only negative if the way it is used results in negative & harmful deeds.

To riddlerx333x: Agreed, racism is an ugly form of collectivism; however, humans function best collectively rather than individually. Although we are individuals, we inherently think collectively: like, thinking of the sacrifice of the one for the many. we think collectively first in terms of the immediate family, then the extended family, then subgroups (like frats, clubs or social groups), then this grows to political groups, national groups, racial groups, etc.(see next panel for conclusion)
