While Kelly might be soft, he is an athletic shooter who can handle the ball and finish around the rim, added with his size would make him a fine hybrid forward.

while yes, scheyer is great, Andre Dawkins could replace him fine, dawkins is a 6'4 sg who can shoot and is very athletic, add seth curry (perhaps bttr than steph)

seth, who many say is ahead of steph right now when steph was at this age.. is a shooter who can also handle the ball...him and dawkins should replace scheyer just fine....as for the plumlee bros. , Miles is a physical presence inside tht is a shotblocker and rebounder but needs work on the offensive side while mason is a presence inside tht can block shots and rebound (not as good as his brother tho) can pass from the post, can finish, and can shoot...add hairston and tht shld b a final 4 team

not to burst your spirit but none of the guys you listed are a true post presence...we already saw what happened when singler tried to play inside with guys like hansbrough and zach booker and he is just too soft...the plumlees and kelly have a knack for playing around the perimeter as well

It looks like you havent seen Miles Plumlee play this year...he has obviously gotten better down low as he has had quite a few rejections ...i havent seen mason plumlee but according to the scouts..he is an inside presence tht can score....have u even seen these guys play at duke??

This is the thing. Miles and Kelly LOOK good in highlight tapes, but theres no telling how they will react in the ACC. Especially with no college experience. Lance looked this good in HS too, and was a Mcdonalds AA. He's also ALOT more exposive, athletic, better defense. Kelly can stretch the floor with his shot ability, but when it comes down to it, Lance has the experience, and DEFENSE, which is Coach Ks middle name

thats the only reason they lost to Nova - when the shots aren't falling you need an inside presence. Duke has become too finesse recently.

im a duke fan and i must say i agree. duke was overrated for most of the year. they were closer to 15-20th in the nation, not top 8. scheyer is a good ball player, but no one will win a title with him, a shoot-first pure scorer, at point.

although it looks like kentucky will land john wall, if by some miracle he chooses duke (UNC is pretty set at the guards, he will want 1 year of playing time before the nba) and henderson stays, only then is duke a contender.

And Plumlee is in no way like Singler, he is more like a McRoberts and I don't know what to think of Kelly I do know the last big man for Duke to win the McD's 3 point contest was Laettner, seems like he had a pretty good college career

that's hardly a contending lineup. what's different from last year? besides losing our best player, the lineup is the same otherwise. plumlee is not a true center and cannot play the 5. neither can kelly. we have to rely on a smaller lineup again or clumsy old zoubek.

it looks more promising for 2011 with curry and dawkins and hopefully a returning singler and a few other top recruits. this year (and of course i hope i'm wrong) does not look promising.

It could get even better at PG as John Wall's interest in Duke is apparently growing. How awesome would that be? But if they miss out on Wall, Brandon Knight's a strong possibility for 2010. I hope Singler stays 4, but if he doesn't, hopefully Harrison Barnes comes in, I like him better than Harriston. Man, I have a feeling 2010 is gonna be a special year for Duke, not just the starting 5 but all kinds of depth. Can't wait!

Singler is listed at 6'8 he was listed at 6'9 in high school he is probably 6'7. Ryan Kelly is listed at 6'9 in high school from what I have seen and he is probably 6'8 in real life. So he is probably more like an inch taller than singler. Players are always a few inches taller during their senior year in high school, when they are being recruited. Remember when Hansbrough was 6'10? He recently admitted in Sports Illustrated that he is only 6'8. Either way Ryan Kelly is the next Singler.
