we should tax the "wealthier" a little more but nothing like people are calling for. why should someone who works hard for their money be forced to give up more. put yourself in a person who is wealthy. are u looking out for you or for someone who didnt put the time in when they had too.
bonds. However, when taxes are lowered, you actually see that more money comes in from the wealthy in tax dollars, as it is more lucrative for them to take the money out and pay the taxes because they are low enough that their return on investment is still higher from the stock market and other investments. Bush's tax cuts were not the most effective way of implementing this policy, however the trickle down effect and the low taxes on the wealthy is economically valid.
agree with bajan1966 i believe taxing the rich which is only 2% of Americans will lower the deficit and when you look at the poll a majority of Americans approve this as well.
@Brajabu74 i hate when people like you try to act smart but when they have the opportunity to say something you say absolutely nothing. "My brain hurt" lol
The purpose of taxes should be for nothing more than the government to function in and of itself. It is not the governments job to take the money of hard working citizens and spend it anywhere they see fit. However this is exactly what the government does. Maybe I don't want my tax money to bail out a bank that issued too many sub-prime loans... well too f**king bad, I have zero say in the matter. That is how this country is run and it needs to change.
Something you don't seem to understand here is that the government taking the citizens money via taxes is not intrinsically a good thing. The US government has a history of working inefficiently, overspending, and being generally wasteful. This additional money in the hands of the people is much more valuable than in the coffers of the government. The government is concerned about revenue lost by tax cuts, but the alternative is money being injected into the economy by the people instead.
Taxes actually fuck up the economy, weather it be too high or too low. But it shouldn't be as high as Obama wants them. The defecite was cause by our 2 latest and most retarded presidents. Obama spending trillions of dollars worsening the defecite caused by bush's spending. What people need to do is actually get off their lazy asses, work, and spend. That's what helps an economy.
@DeagleBeagle problems? ooh, I'm shaking in my boots. No really I'm so scared. All I'm saying is we do need taxes, just not insanely high or insanely low. And if people work instead of leeching off welfare and unemployment (unless it's for a truly good reason) that'll help too.
NO, GET RID OF THE TAX CUTS AND START CREATING PROGRAMS THAT WILL FEED AND GIVE SHELTER TO THOSE WHO ARE UNEMPLOYEED AND NEEDY. AND THE EXTRA MONEY THAT WILL COME IN FROM GETTING RID OF THE TAX CUTS, WILL HELP CREATE THESE PROGRAMS.

tax breaks for the super wealthy solves nothing, they need to be taxed a lot more than we do tax them.
