  • I love that you spend your free time doing this. and I spend my free time watching it. haha. well done man, well done.

  • Hey, you have a good reading voice yourself. I reccomend that you read for LibriVox yourself! :D

And, most of us do NOT sound nerdy. You picked a weird version of that poem indeed.

Many, many LibriVoxers are native English speakers and we have over 3,000 works in our catalogue. So... maybe you didn't listen to the best that are out there so far! Really thoug, please volunteer for LibriVox! You're definitely LibriVox material. ;)

  • Ok buddy that's it!

    U gotta marry me!!

I actually teared up from laughter!!!!

  • bells bells bells bells bells.....

    rofl

  • It was funny, and gave it some life. Libri vox is done by humans?

  • also forgot to mention, thanks for going through the process of making the recording so you know what it is you're critiquing

  • Thanks for the critique et all. That will help in future,

  • lol, your face when you found out you said titty fruits

  • lol that's a cat? I thought that was a pillow

  • Too funny! Good job!

    :)

  • Haha, I could even hear the pimples in that clip.

  • Oh boy - I didnt watch this 8 times (forgive me) One view got me giggling more than is healthy for a Sunday afternoon...lol...Now being a Poetess, I am tempted to record a reading of this in response to you...but you found out it aint so easy to read without getting in a twizzle at times, huh? :) I might find the same...lol...Thanks for this video - I am new to YT and havent seen your Channel before - am wondering if your other vids are as funny...lol...:)

  • haha at the accents on the stories. i'll check it out anyway. thanks for introducing me to it.

  • Could you imagine life before television, when stories were told over the radio airwaves? They'd even have a guy there whose sole job was to make sound effects any way he could figure. I definitely agree with you, you need to put some life into a narration - to keep the audience interested yes but also to do justice to the author's work. Thanks for showing how difficult but fun that effort can be!

  • heck I still listen to radio like that. Prairie Home Companion!

  • lols

  • LOL ?

  • yeah i was kind of waiting for you to make a joke about the "tinkle tinkle tinkle".

my favourite part is with the cat-head!

  • Damn man that was good. Your a goofball but still I thought when you were taking it serious it was pretty good.

  • The second time I watched this it was a lot more funny.

And yes, I watch your videos about four times.

  • all loyal viewers should watch 8 times. No more, no less.

  • Titty fruits!

  • i agree. i heard a cd of kahlil gibrans "the prophet" on cd. It was horrible. It was in a monotone. Richard Harris' was much better and it was recorded 40 years ago

  • haha That was hilarious! I was laughing so hard when you recited a bit of the poem. I'm going to have a look at that site now. XD I would love to do some readings for it. I think I can give it some oomph. hehe ;)

  • What's one meek and feeble voice, you're right.

  • You're up to 761 views now, so don't worry.

BTW It's "orator", but I slur sometimes too.

  • Hilarious! ;) I often listen to Librivox recordings and had never thought of volunteering to read any, but I am tempted now, lol! If only to try my own Vincent Price imitation ;)

  • Haha, very good, but you had the advantage of suspenseful music. Btw, it still says 666 views. Weird.

  • music? That was subvocalization at work my friend

  • It's still saying 666 views now, creepier.

  • I inadvertently summoned a demon. He afflicted me with cat-warts.

  • damn catheads.

  • 666 views before I watched this, creepy.

  • I found someone's partial reading of Genji Monogatari on their site and decided to give it a listen for kicks.

Whoever it is, is a baller. Foh serious.

  • I don't know that use of the word baller...

    I wish I was a baller. I wish I was a bit taller. Wish I had a girlfriend; I'd call 'er.

  • Your interpretation that is, lol.

  • Lol, that was pretty great!

  • tin-tin-NAB-u-LA'tion, ;-) This was entertaining and I'll check out the website. When you had the candle off to your right, it created the perfect warm lighting. Loved it when you grew a cat head!

  • word nerd.

  • claytonian: You just about nailed it. :-D

Now, provided this comment ends up attached where it was posted, the Tuber right below here is someone you definitely want to check out: livingpassion, poetess extraordinaire!

poetess = half poet, half goddess

  • As much as you rocked that reading, I think you should keep your day job. I checked out LibriVox. Pretty interesting and depressing at the same time. Do we really need to have someone else read our culture to us?

Next time you do a reading, you should use a theater snob voice, or a japanese accent!

  • lol

  • your vincent price sounded more like yoda...

  • you're awesome.

i couldnt stop laughing when you read the poem.

  • how did you keep it straight when you said tinkle over and over again! :) I enjoyed that.

  • That was nice but next time you should try it with a Rod Roddy, former announcer for the Price is Right, impersonation.

Lol great vid as usual man.

  • hahaha. bells. bells. bells.

    im sorry for laughing.

  • I think he sounds pretty sexy.

  • the nerd?

  • aww, yous did shave, face looking young

  • "Oh it's like a bell, i see what you did Poe, i see what you did there" fantastic

  • Out of all the videos I've seen with bloopers, yours are the best.

  • yes, I can mess up in a spectacular way

  • Interesting. I am sure some people have things to say about the American accent.

    I slur too.

Hmm.... I cannot put my finger on it..but there is something weird about that voice...but it is just an American accent.

Hmmm... your reading is better...but your dashing good looks were slightly distracting. But only slightly....

    OK..that was pretty cute.

  • two voices after the price voice had potential <3.

  • Your Vincent sounds like Cleveland from Family Guy. HAHAHAHA.....

  • Man, in that light you look total different. I am not sure if it is a good look though.

  • ROFLMAO!!!!!! That was amazing, I love having a good full-bodied laugh! I just couldn't stop imagining how horrified Poe's face would be if he heard that pubescent voice blundering through his poem ;D

  • I think those recordings are a good way of encouraging people to read (by themselves) lol.

  • I got it - I think you should narrate the Bible and post it on that website. Good luck ;)

  • I burst out laughing after you said "I gotta blow my nose." It may not be that funny, but I am easily entertained. Love that Vincent Price impression. :)

  • oh my goodness, one of my favorite videos so far. I think my favorite was " ... oh, I have to blow my nose." I think I wet myself a little after that though it 's not that funny, i'm in that sort of easily entertained mood.

Bloopers video, me thinks, would be lovely. But whatever you decide, I am down with.

  • btw, sorry. I tend to write books when I comment.

  • I think the problem is your trying to read it with a english accent, why not try doing it with a accent a little closer to your own try and sound like Morgan Freeman, when he narrates Shawshank redemption.

  • Next project decided thankyousir

  • I was watching your vlog in the library with my laptop (was tired of studying)... it was SOO hard suppressing my laughter! People around me was like o_0

  • your Vincent Price impression had me literally laughing out loud!

  • LOL...that nerd was soooo unenthusiastic, hahaha

  • Not fair. You had background music and lighting!

  • you are that narrating nerd, aren't you.

  • I don't have enough testosterone to make my voice crack...I am however defender of all things innocently nerd-like.

  • "tinkle tinkle tinkle.. dogs going to the bathroom." HAHHAHA!

  • What the...grew a cat head! Well you were way better anyway.

  • LOL From one English teacher to another... THANK YOU! LOL That was awesome. You totally have a funeral home voice, btw. lol "Welcome to McGregors Mortuary..." hahaha I can hear it now. Creepy.

  • "we must trnasmit the remains to you in a recepticle" "it is our most modestly priced recepticle"

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:)

  • Definitely enough literature for today!

But I do feel inspired to watch "Theatre of Blood" now.

  • Hilarious!

  • Brilliant! I think this is the best video I've ever seen from you. You had me in stitches, and I was sooo expecting you to burn your chin on the candle.

Is that where the beard went or did you take my advice? ;)

  • Shaved!Shaved!!!!!!! =D

    Cute!heheheeheh!!!!

  • Is it bad I didn't notice the cat head until you pointed it out? ;__; I'm very hungover.

Your sophisticated voice makes me laugh.

  • Hahah that was great! Funniest video yet by you and I got to learn something...sort of :-P I actually thought you were doing a great Vincent Price at the beginning of the poem. Thanks for the laugh I needed that!

  • Wow, that was a really nice Vincent Price impression at the end!

  • what? Nah

  • I thought so. It was at least entertaining. :)

  • oh Clay shaved nice ^_^

  • (-:P haha I love how you presented the poem (youd be my first choice for my next poetry collaboration). I did my first one on Poes Raven (with 18 youtubers).

  • ah yes I saw that

  • Very dramatic!
