I find this absolutely amazing but I am horrified at the propisition of what some of the parents do to their kids in order to make them this good. I am quite sure most of it is that the parents are just encouraging the children but just like child stars I am sure some of it goes to far.
@tomkendell Actually it is the kids who push themselves. I've not heard of one case where the parents "do" anything to their kids to make them this good. The kids do it because they like it, and the parents support them as much as possible.
i feel you on that i thought i was getting good so i decided to look at some juggling youtube videos only to get my hopes dashed and find out that i suck compared to these kids
Yeah but you have to remember, these kids probably don't go to school and do nothing but juggling and if you ask them what 2 + 2 is they will say 5000, so yeah they're good at juggling, but ask them to spell cat and they will reply J.U.G.G.L.E
Oh sorry, forgot to mention. If I say it's not a qualify, that means that the trick before is 0 points.
This comment is not to be rude or whatever, it's just for info. Because people were discussing the Lauge-got-4th thing.
Well, this video does not prove that Lauge should have won. In this video alone he missed 3 of his hardest tricks.
Maybe it's better to congratulate him with his high score. He got 0 points for quite a few tricks (meaning: the tricks he DID get points for were HARD!!!)
Hmm, jup, miswhatevered that one... He gets points for the 360 because he did 10 catches, but it was 9 throws of 744 and then a 5 that was just a little too high. To qual 744 you should do 744744744744... So he DOES get points for 360, but no connection and no 744 points...
I have a few questions to you. After Matthieu have done the reverse backcrosses around the 1:40 spot i think. He does not qualify after the trick. So no points for reverse backcrosses? And Lauge does a B666600 360 then 7447447446 not a five. So he might not have got points for the 360?
First: you're welcome. Second: I think (not sure) I already said this, but I don't have the actual routine forms in front of me, so I'm not 100% sure about 1 or 2 of em...
Lauge did soo amazingly! I can't believe he lost to Spencer! That makes no sence! I mean Spencer pulled of some cool connections, but he did not do all those amazing tricks like Lauge did!
Well, they were not cool connections, they were hard, and Lauge failed to qualify som of the really hard moves that he did. It was fair and Lauge has accepted that he came fourth.
They are not that hard, I bet Lauge can do them with ease. I don't think Spencer can do any of Lauge's hard tricks, like the 1 high 4 low 360, or 7 ring qualify! So that's not a fair win, Lauge is a way better juggler, and he also did way harder tricks in his routine. People should agree on this. The proof is the video.
You get more points for many hard connections then one hard move. I agree that he did harder tricks, but Spencer did more connections.
He deserved the second place. As said before,Lauge failed to qualify some of the hard moves and connections. It is this way the WJF competetions is scored, if you have a problem with the scoring, complain to the guy that created the scoring system, not me.
I agree partially, Lauge is a better juggler. But, it's with an audience, and fear of dropping. This makes people nervous and stressed out.. So the things Lauge could do easily became really hard when he got on stage.
That's why you should only do things you're 100% sure you can do, and connect as many as possible. This gives you a score at least 40% higher than doing harder tricks.. A 3 club connected-360s routine of 5 tricks can score way higher than a 7 trick non-connectd 5 club routine...
I don´t know if you heard about it already, so sorry if you did, but here´s the thing:
Lauge didn´t care as much about the sold technique and rules as Spencer did, so he lost many many points on unqualified tricks, sloppy patterns and such. Spencer´s routine was easier, but it was executed flawlessly. So with the WJF rating system, Spencer deserved higher points than Lauge. Jason Garfield has commented on this some time ago as well. I guess that´s how it is! See ya
I do agree, I was one of the judges and if you connect into and out of a move (by itself for instance 5 points) you get double the point for that move (so now it's 10...) Lauge didn't have many connections, and the tricks he did, didn't score double as high as the tricks everyone else did... And add to that that he didn't qualify 2 or 3 things and you have a not-so-high scoring routine....
Well, as you can see in the comments I posted above here, he didn't just miss connections. He missed quite some tricks too because he didn't qualify after the trick. But if he had done everything on his routine form dropless, than he would have won I think (but I don't have the judged forms here, so I'm not 100% sure...)
But that wasn't thesame as Sergey Igantov jr... Sergey could skip half his routine and still win... :p LOL
Hehe. Well Sergey Ignatov junior ROCKS. No one stands a chance to him in the ring competition. Did he have any new tricks this year? And did Lauge lose points in his form? Like walking around and things like that?
Not really sure about that, I was in the A-jury, so the deductions weren't up to me, but he made many minor corrections and steps, so I don't really know
There's nothing stupid about it. As good as Lauge is, he did not do as many connections and he failed to qualify some of his big scoring moves and connections. If not for a point system, the judging system would be ambiguous.
That is amazing these kids are so good, but the future of juggling, I don't think so. I mean how many times can you watch a piroutte. Now komei aoki, that is the future of juggling.
I can't mention each one here, though they deserve it! Nathan Herz was the epitome of clutch, demonstrating a cool-hand touch that is spellbinding to watch. Lauge's outstanding dynamism was dazzling, and more rare than the Comstock Lode. Matthieu's display of seamlessly connected and incredibly difficult material would be nearly impossible to surpass. Jack Denger rocked amazing Tricks throughout. What shouldn't be lost is that Sarge and VanDrizzle also performed excellent, clean Routines.
Vova doesn't need my support. I think he realizes that some of these guys are better than he at the same age. Now it entirely depends on them if they will surpass Vova's level at age of 21.
OMG!! That was fantastic! Lauge must have been clear favourite for the balls....that pirouette combo was IMMENSE even if it was just 3 balls...super fast spins :P

Such ashame that some of them missed points here and there.
-0:42, discussable, 6 throws of which the 6th is a "4", so he didn't qualify the cascade
-1:13, 6 throws of flat, and then 2, he qualled the 360, but NO connection and NO points for flats.
-1:46, haha, cheater :p , 1 set-up throw after the rev shoulders.
-1:49, no qualify.
-2:20, 7 throws, no qual.
-2:24, 9 throws of 744, no qual after, no connection and 0 points for the 360 AND 744
-3:17 no doubles qual, 0 points for singles
