Rival schools i believe was one of my favorite fighting games every. It was good...... real good. Glad that Batsu was remembered when making TVC. Shoma would have been another good character. Also i noticed that One of batsus super was when you have akira and they do a simultaneous kick just like batsu's super in TVC and homage to the games double team moves in rival schools.

There was. It wasn't a whole lot like the games in terms of the personality of the characters, though. There were also a few characters that were only in the show, like Harry Grimoire. (And for those who recognise the similarities between him and a better-known magician named Harry, keep in mind that the show came out a couple of years before those books.)
