  • It's nearly impossible to find anything that Derrick Jensen says as not true

  • ha yeah pretty much though i'm sure there are a few things

he writes about timeless truths, as do a lot of other authors

i don't agree with him when he says that people won't change voluntary--i have more faith in mankind than he does, i guess

he also doesn't address politics very thoughtfully--i don't know if that is because he dismisses politics or is uncomfortable with the topic

but yeah good truth that frees us

(this video however was of stephanie mcmillan's work)

  • @gabepinnick i dont like the way he defines science. maybe, because he is a primitivist :) anyway, he's cool.

  • wow you make some brilliant vids.....I hope you are a member of the zeitgeist movement.

  • thank you

no, i'm not and will never be

i'm all for doing away with money, but after that i part company with the zm, big time

the zm is anthropocentric, humanist, technotopian, pie-in-the-sky, and assumes that people are happiest living in large numbers in artificial environments

the people who support it behave like religious zealots, and will not answer the most basic questions, except with fantasies such as 'there will be no pollution because we will recycle everything'

    .

  • pain as day de lies dem say if de majority had a brain.... what would they say about dat?

  • Thank you for making this video with my comic! I like it. I'm glad it's helping to spark some good discussion.

    Stephanie

  • oh i'm honored that you like it

thank you so much for all the great work you do

  • Nice strips, great choice of music. I love Stephanie McMillan's samauri wit...it cuts deeper than any of these foolish coward's words.

"The limiting of action is linked to the limiting of speech, which is linked to the limiting of thought, which is linked to the limiting of imagination. If we induce this internal limiting, we will lose the resources to imagine a better world, to think of a better world, to speak of a better world and to act for a better world" -Ilse Asplund

"If you make peaceful revolution impossible, you make violent revolution inevitable" -JKF

  • wow hockeyjason i just now saw these comments

    powerful stuff

    thanks

When moral concern is unscientific and facts get you labeled an alarmist. Is a clear sign that there is untruth in society. Resulting from the wildness of words and facts

Since concerned individuals/groups, are no longer able to express the negative aspects of their lived experiences to be acknowledged and even affirmed. Means this transgression can only have horrific and repressive consequences, as restrictions on political/cultural dissent are never good for justice as a whole.

  • Well said Hockeyjason! Although, I feel it's getting even worse what with all of these "intelligent" design supporters run amok trying to fill science classrooms with absolute cretinous bullshit-which inherently encourages them to shut down their higher brain-functioning that allows for critical thinking. I'm truly worried.

  • well put together!

  • ah the bounty from the mind of karl rove. spot on.

  • awesome job brother!

  • Pretty much. I love the way actions get labeled as terrorist even though they don't actually harm people.

  • You're a terrorist? Crikey - and there was me thinking you were a reactionist. Gosh. I really should listen to these politicians ;)

  • i'm a terra-ist

the real terrorists in my country (and/or their henchmen) live inside the capitol beltway

  • Ustinov was brilliant beyond words...

  • "Terrorism is the war of the poor, and war is the terrorism of the rich" -P. Ustinov

  • dang that's a great quote frumpling

    thanks

  • I was a bit surprised that with all these commie terrorists posting comments nobody else had it. On a side note, I tried to view your reply to my comment and firefox shut down. Conspiracy theorist translation: don't be surprised if you and everyone you know get blacklisted for your terrorist misdeeds. Cheers!

  • Excellent, PC; knew when I saw that title it would be another good one; like that 3 word description, too :)

  • heh thanks liz

i trust it will generate some conversation

    on or off the tubes

the real terrorists are well paid and well respected in our society

  • cool vid!

i like reading tom tomorrow's comics too. funny stuff!

love the king tubby dub plate you used.

  • It's like Borat had it right : "I vant congratulate peoples of America on their wars of terror." Not ON terror but OF. Did you read Vonnegut's last book, the "A Man Without A Country"? I bet you'd admire it.

  • no but i want to read it

    my local library sucks eggs

    was just there today

i think i've read every good book it has.....

  • If I had magical powers...the first thing I would do is make a kick ass library appear in your area. I'll work on getting magical powers...you, my friend...get ready to read your frickin ass off! :op

  • heh use your magical powers to dismantle civilzation

    i'll live

  • oh yeah...I guess that should be my first trick. haha :op

  • today would be a good day for that

  • I'll get right on it. Babylon will fall TODAY! Ooooh...if only.

  • thank you

just zotz the cornerstone with your magick zotzer

  • I'm zotzing as we speak. I'm going to zotz this muthafucka to the ground!

  • for real.

  • thank you for another piece of truth...!

  • bite-sized pieces :)

  • one for each day keeps the doctor away is what they say :)

  • nicely done :)

  • we have Polish people, they work 12 hour days

for the minimum wage they are called

economic migrants the government holds them

up as a shining example to aspire to

  • yikes

  • it,s true they,re all part of the EU

    master plan...watch out America!!

  • yes here we have the same 'plan' with people from south of the border

  • yeah and that same doofus on the radio was making out like the 'successful' people work long hours, when really it's the single mother working three jobs

i can't believe that people can still maintain these fantasies....

'the self-made man' doesn't exist. in this system, wealth is created by extracting blood, sweat, tears, trees, ore, fish.....

  • and spirit and dignity...single mothers

are demonized in this country it,s all

a matter of picking on the weak and

defensless and giving them a bloody

    good kicking

  • well... the person still needs to redirect their own work. We can only raise awareness... the person still needs to obtain their own rifle so to speak.

  • So true.

  • great video!

  • Oh man, I've been talking religion all day. Fending off the would be converters. Its nice to have some light hearted comics to cool my engine...oh wait what is this? Oh man here we go, gettin me all riled up again PC.

  • Every definition in this system is backwards. Terrorism is as meaningless a word as good or evil. These words themselves are just forms of control. Ways to tie up peeps minds in knots. Invent a word, invent a definition, and you've invented a false reality. It's a tale as old as civilization.

  • yes language is a major instrument of control

    word sound power

  • 'clean skies act'

    'healthy forests initiative'

    'no child left behind'

    'health care'

  • Oh god, that double-speak talk heats me up, yo. You're really testing my equa-fuckin-nimity here. :op

  • breathe....

  • Katrina relief was just an excercise in martial law and population displacement.

  • I've heard that as well...not so far fetched...completely feasible.

  • every now and then i listen to conservative radio for about ten minutes to practice my goddam buddhist equi-fuckin-nimity

and today neil boortzsch was ridiculing people who work 40 hour weeks, saying they're falling behind, lazy, etc. and that the people working 60-80 hours a week will 'win' whatever the fuck contest he thinks people want to play

    now THAT is terrorism

'you're not worthy if you're not destroying your sanity and your health for the machine'

  • Yeah, that's some fucking BULLSHIT. Or like that quote of GWB where he's talking to some lady that works 3 jobs, and he's talking like "wow, that is GREAT!" It takes every bit of strength that I have not to launch my TV or computer out of the fucking window every time I see that clip. My blood is boiling just thinking about that way of thinking...it's so fucking sad this idea of what life is. So what is this buddhist equi-fuckin-nimity stuff? What does that mean?

  • ha

well if you can listen to rush limbaugh

and not scream and destroy the radio

you've reached a very high level of equanimity

    i.e. not-letting-things-get-to-youness

    (oops misspelled it earlier)

it's kind of a private joke

i say it through gritted teeth

    'i am maintaining my equa-fuckin-nimity'

  • Haha...I like that. I would be very bad at equanimity...but equa-fuckin-nimity sounds a lot more my style. :op I think I've become very good at teetering on the edge, but not quite losing my cool. But I DO have a healthy explosion from time to time. :o)

  • it all came from a clash with a buddhist friend--i was very upset about something, and she said 'i think you should go to (this buddhist meditation retreat thingy). you could use some equanimity.' and i said, 'don't tell me about equa-fuckin-nimity!'

  • itsfilthy, i do remember when bush said that. i was fucking enraged when i heard that. it was as if he was patting her on the head and telling her how good of a slave she was. i don't like think about that time and place when i heard that--it was just vile.

  • Yeah, that shit pisses me off. I really hate that muthafucka, yo. And I REALLY hate that mind set. How could "I work three jobs" ever be seen as a good thing? Goddamnit...blood is boiling...teeth are clenched...I have to stop thinking about this.

  • it's a 'good thing' for a culture that values profit and production over life and health

  • even then, you would think that if a person has to work 3 jobs, that doesn't speak very highly of the state of the economy...but yeah, I feel you...the more you work, the better a person you are. Fuckers.

  • itsfilthy, i do remember when bush said that. i was fucking enraged when i heard that. it was as if he was patting her on the head and telling her how good of a slave she was. i don't like think about that time and place when i heard that--it was just vile.

  • yes and a PR victory for putting fear of poverty into the workers

  • And a victory for how they've defined poverty in our minds.

  • get back to work slave or you'll be a bloated body washed up in a walmart parking lot

  • More scary than a whip.

  • Was that king-monkey-boy-george?

  • yup

  • Truth is treason in a culture of lies.

  • That's too much!Great video! In the playlist!

  • thanks boucrate

    too much?

    hmmm....

as long as the culture of maximum harm rolls on, it's not enough

  • Too much, meaning that I always admire how humour can trow the truth at our smiling face, and this bit you are sharing with us is..well too much! It might help to open the heart and mind of new people, that will join us in our individual and collective peaceful revolution. And that is also too much lol! Thank you for all!

  • thinking is terrorism.

    See ya in gitmo!

  • yeah phuq look for me

    i'll be wearing orange....

  • when do i get my flip flops!

  • min sec rulez.

  • yeah heh thanks for noticing
