iMac G3's were not so fortunate, they're all gone now.

I just got myself an eMac and it's quite loud as you can hear in the video. It struggles a bit with Flash videos, because the Flash integration is not so well in Mac OS X. But other than that it's the cheapest Mac with a G4 you can get for money. So I'm happy. :)

The eMac is still a very capable computer. I ran it as a desktop for quite a while and was overall satisfied with it. The eMacs up to 1.0GHz use SDRAM. You can get a 512MB stick of SDRAM off eBay for around AU$15. All eMacs above 1.0GHz use DDR RAM. You can get a 512MB stick of DDR RAM for around AU$20.

Apple bundles iMovie (which is part of iLife) in with their Macs only. However retail Mac OS X Install discs don't have iLife installed.

The eMac was originally designed as a cheap alternative to the iMac G4 for schools (hence the e in eMac for education). It was originally only available to schools but was then made available to the public making the e stand for nothing really in particular.

The eMac features a 17-inch screen and a G4 processor over the iMac's G3 processor and 15-inch screen. This was also the answer to many requests for Apple to put a 17-inch screen into the iMac.

P.S. it's as heavy as the iMac G3 333MHZ because it has a fan and a lot of metal. The iMac G3's after the 333mhzz have no fan or metal case. So light!

Thanks for the tip. And, yeah when I compared the eMac weight to the iMac weight, I compared it to the slot-loading one that I have because I haven't actually seen a tray-loading iMac in person. The eMac is 6kg heavier than my iMac, however since it has a 17-inch over 15-inch screen and a flat CRT, it has a reason to weigh more.
