apparently this was voted as one of pink floyds worst songs, i would disagree theres a lot of floyd songs worse than this, in fact i dont mind this i mean if i went on for five or six minutes then maybe not but its ok its not suppose to be taken seriously. in fact out of all the songs on meddle this, san tropez and echoes are the only songs i like off the record
pink floyd can do whatever the hell they want because they do it well even a song like this which is hilarious and well done, and a nice break from their long melodic songs.... they've earned the right GREAT FLOYD AND GRERAT BLUES... best band at showing ability to reach farther while staying true St. tropez another example
@purplefluffcake Indeed it does. I love Pink Floyd. They are one of my top 3 favorite bands. I have all of their albums and love every song, but this is the one song that I would almost go as far as saying I hate, and the dog is to blame.
Ironically, my absolute favorite Floyd song is "Dogs", from Animals, which also has a dog sound at one part, but it is mixed so much better. On "Seamus", the dog's whimpering is louder than the music.
Dont know why, i see texas old landscapes and essence of country and blues in this song... Definitely a masterpiece.

Don't listen to this and ask "Is it good Floyd?" Its been asked and discussed over and over, and apparently good Floyd looses.
Ask instead, "Is it good Blues?"
And the answer is, It is fantastic Blues.
Its right down in there, all up in your business, gnarly yet tight.
The gentlemen are working off of each other very well.
