  • Or, they took it straight out of Star Trek Voyager

  • i dunno why you guys are getting so pissed about this armor lol, i'd much rather go into combat wearing that than SGC uniform lol

  • Ablative armour looks pwnage but will we be able to choose between that and normal SG-1 type uniform? I hope so!

  • I agree with most people here the game im keeping track of is STARGATE worlds not "Ironman the stargate worlds incident"...

How on earth did they get Robert Cooper to praise it I will never know!

  • In SG-1, at some point, they started using some ceramic plating to protect from staff weapon blasts. They just put it underneath the vest, so it wasn't visible at all. I don't want some huge armour that makes the characters look like football players, if that's that you're planning. That's just lame! Also, it wouldn't be Stargate.

  • thats realy not very human like looks more like a anubis drone to me the only thing the show tells u about ther armour is the in 1 of the episodes they put a potective sheet inside the vests that they wear

  • hmm i smell a lawsuit, haha ablative armour is the name of the armour on a ship called the defiant in star trek deep space 9.

  • No lawsuit here my friend, it was also used in a few Ironman comics...there is no copyright on the name due to the fact that the word Ablation is a real word.

Ablation is defined as the removal of material from the surface of an object by vaporization, chipping, or other erosive processes.

In other words, anyone can use the term ablative armor.

  • well you told me, my mistake.

  • That is correct! The U.S.S Defiant NX-74205 had ablative armor way before any stargate episode ever aired. Stargate always ripped of ideas from Star Trek to further the story.

  • I cant wait to try this game out pick me for beta already lol

  • same here!

  • Quick question: Will we have some control over the color and/or pattern of camo on the ablative armors?

I ask this as it would be a great way for guilds/teams to establish a personal look for themselves. Consider it a feature request, but one that is terribly low on my personal list. Thanks for any answers!

  • gigity gigity!

  • Every single bloody snippet we get just makes me wish we could beta already!

  • Are the human armors based off Asgard or Atlantian technologies?

  • They look a bit Atlantean, based on the spoiler for Atlantis' Enemy at the Gate (I think that's what it's called)

  • Actually, they look to me like they are based on the super soldier armor that Anubis creates, their armor was able to absorb blasts, and things like that. Remember, the game is going to focus more on SG-1 they said, more than SG Atlantis.

  • But anubis super armor was the skin of those soldiers remember? They weren't full people, or what they should be, and once the humans gained the Asgard information they stopped converting Goa'uld technology, or they did from what has been seen.

  • NO, the super soldiers weren't complete, i agree on that part, but that armor was adapted and we saw it again as an insert into air force armor, yes, it seems they stopped copying Goa'uld technology, but im sure Asgard had something similar, anyways, Asgard were WAY different from the Ancients, I guess it doesn't matter though, as long as it looks cool.

  • i think there from the stargate atlantis episode with daniel jackson(last episode and another this week)

  • No, they watched SG-1 to get inspired, he says so at 20seconds.

  • thanks

  • NP.
