Billions of dollars are being given in aid every year, yet poverty, corruption, disease, and conflict is still rampant. Initiatives should be characterized by pragmatic solutions, not just throwing money or spreading democracy and capitalism everywhere you go.
Just a little more, if that's okay. I do believe that love is the most important thing, and living our dreams. But nothing happens without enthusiasm! There are young people interested in learning about 'signs', and how it works in a unique way for each person. Once that is understood (and it's lots of fun to learn how this works!!), we see how we are all connected. And I feel more compassion for each other.

I think little things, like reaching out to each other in love and friendship. Sharing inspiration, books, pictures, music, ideas, laughter, encouragement. Donating books, toys, getting together ... really listening ... touching each other again. Seems too sad to think there are people who feel very, very alone.

That is a very good question which I am asking myself my entire life. We live in a world where if you would ask a random person: What would make you happy? The majority of the answers will be: to be succesfull, to make money, to do what I want. We live in an egofocused world.
What we should do is deflecting the peoples consiousness to the entire world instead of just themselfs. As you say: what should WE do? We must realize that happiness is a choice that is found in giving, not taking.

Paulo Coelho is always a "hot topic" in his homeland. In my opinion, he is a much better book seller than he is a writer. His ability to sell his crap as a literature academy masterpieces for the people was his main achievement. Its worth noting how influent hes got inside the Brazilian national literature academy. The typical case when intimate relationship goes beyond any sort of reasonable action and justice. I'm sure hes happy. Laughing like a maniac on behalf of all the people he misleaded.

This is corporations worst nightmare...and they are gonna do everything in their power to keep the technology intheir hands....Of course to get there, it is necessary to have a 'transition' phase wich will require human (PART2)intervention(conception, repair, management, production) but as automation is augmented....human intervention is dimished, and I can see it dimishing to virtually nothing....as jobs in these sectors

One way to help the poor ppl is automation and the indendance of automated systems from corp's. What I mean is if there was (or when) there will be ways to produce everything man needs with automation (robots, etc...) then everything would be free. The reason is...If no human intervention is needed to produce a goods then there is no cost to produce this good. Im talking about automising every part of the goods production.

I disagree. I believe most people are not concerned enough with wanting to improve the world. Most people, I believe are satisfied with their current living situations enough they do not care what happens elsewhere(which includes their own neighborhoods). To make a significant difference takes extreme changes. Extreme changes only occur when forced. Force only occurs in certain situations. Try and find a little 206 page book called Ecotopia by Ernesst Callenbach. Printed 1975 by Bayam Tree Books. Respect the earth and set up a stable state system. Do away with victimless crimes and deal with white collar crimes just as severely as armed robbery or murder. A worldwide ban on pollution and a mass transit system that is more efficient than cars. Put corporation in the hands of the employees and make them part of what they do.

1. Enhance democracy: (some) industrialized countries should stop to support hideous regimes, and stop thinking they are too civilized.
2. Poverty: industrialized countries have a moral obligation to help those countries they used to rob in the past (and stop those who still predate)
3. Moral Education: teach to heed the moral advice "treat others as you would like to be treated."
4. For US-Citizens, vote RP

back to basics: 2 points i can suggest
1. developed countries should keep their noses out of other countries governance. most issues in afghanistan, indo-pak, middle-east are the creation of developed countries - the americans, british, russians, to be specific. the instability (political and economic) created is very difficult to resolve.
2. developed countries should respect local industries in less developed nations and give them time to prosper, rather than pushing trade negotiations.

You just judged people. Some people want to look like Barbie, some don't. I'm not going to say they are wrong for wanting to look that way. Everyone wants to watch different things and "shit TV" is defined differently depending on who you ask. I would say there should be less focus on what people watch and more on what people get out of what they watch. There is probably more I could say but I have to get back to homework. It's simple: War makes money for large corporations. Large corporations own everything including the major media. Major media is incredibly deceptive, including YouTube. If people don't start going to publicly-supported, independent, non-profit sources of information, then we are all screwed.

That's something that primarily comes from a capitalistic society, everything takes money. Naturally, the focus of everyone's life in a capitalistic society is earning enough money to do as we please. Trying to solve more than our own problems or larger issues only detracts from the time and resources we have to earn money. In the end, its not very often someone working for the greater good gets rich. They should be, but it doesn't happen in capitalism.

Establish a Youthcorps. Send as many children as can be afforded abroad. Have them stay with host families in other countries and learn the language and culture. Broaden the horizons of young people allow them to see what teachers and parents can not provide, a world perspective. Then maybe we can start talking about peace on Earth for real.

Realize that right now with a population growth rate of 3% the population of the world will be TWENTY times larger in 100 years! You really think we have enough natural resources to handle that. well..the answer is simple..u can start out by doing very small things like not putting people down who are trying to make the world a better place (like Davos). For instance this guy below me VivirlaUtopia, people like him only give off negative energy which really does not benefit anyone. this is a question that wont be answered quickly or easily. sure getting rid of money, hirarchy and certain forms of government will help, but doing that alone does not even scrape the surface of the whole problem. if there was no government in the world, no order at all, it would most likely be in more disastrous shape then it is now. and how do we rid the developing countries of there military dictators?
