  • Just a little more, if that's okay. I do believe that love is the most important thing, and living our dreams. But nothing happens without enthusiasm! There are young people interested in learning about 'signs', and how it works in a unique way for each person. Once that is understood (and it's lots of fun to learn how this works!!), we see how we are all connected. And I feel more compassion for each other.

  • I think little things, like reaching out to each other in love and friendship. Sharing inspiration, books, pictures, music, ideas, laughter, encouragement. Donating books, toys, getting together ... really listening ... touching each other again. Seems too sad to think there are people who feel very, very alone.

  • If Coelho stopped squeezing money out of people with his stupid books full of commonplace banalities, what an improvement of society this would be!

  • Ther greates rip off in literarature: Paolo coehlo:

Coelho, you are the Britney Spears of the modern literary world, just a rip-off. Thorea and emerson wrote more than you'll ever accomplish in 1000 lives and they never recieved any prizes on the contrary they would've shun that. You are trash.

  • I feel something rigth now and actually I am writing this because of that. answearing to your question I think the people who have the gift have to leadership the big positions in the world, such as medium and big business in the world of commerce, the political positions, all those spots where can we found mistakes.

  • empathy is enough. for now.

  • well I think that people should learn to comunicate better between themselfs,to hear other problems, not just theirs and to have love in their hearts for all people...

Today most people look after their own interests...especially politicians and other powerfull people. We have to try to minimize their acting and maximize our efforts to live in a better world...

  • paulo coelho has influenced the world.

  • Paulo thank you for your books, I can not thank you enough they help me realize things that were infront of my face that I had never seen before

  • That is a very good question which I am asking myself my entire life. We live in a world where if you would ask a random person: What would make you happy? The majority of the answers will be: to be succesfull, to make money, to do what I want. We live in an egofocused world.

What we should do is deflecting the peoples consiousness to the entire world instead of just themselfs. As you say: what should WE do? We must realize that happiness is a choice that is found in giving, not taking.

  • Paulo Coelho is always a "hot topic" in his homeland. In my opinion, he is a much better book seller than he is a writer. His ability to sell his crap as a literature academy masterpieces for the people was his main achievement. Its worth noting how influent hes got inside the Brazilian national literature academy. The typical case when intimate relationship goes beyond any sort of reasonable action and justice. I'm sure hes happy. Laughing like a maniac on behalf of all the people he misleaded.

  • I don't like you mister Coelho ! Your playing with mighty Erato like if she was a bitch only able to get with anyone that desire to say few words about ability of speaking them... Simple basic truth about being is nothing you can dress up in words... and you do... Avida dolars mister Paul... Pathetic...

  • he is one of the best authors ever, I'm in love with you,Paulo Coelho, thanks for your mail, I love you so muchhhh.. i loved your books..

  • thanks paulo! you'are the best writer of the world.. I'm sure... often God uses your hand to speak with the people! Fantastic!

  • thanks paulo! you'are the best writer of the world.. I'm sure... often God uses your hand to speak with the people! Fantastic!

  • ...also it is necesary to teach the new kids to understand that there is more people in the world who need us, and make them less materialistic, dont teach them about brands, or "cool" things.. just the truth.. the real important stuff!!...

  • very true, but then they`ll suffer from humiliation, insults....just like it happens to anybody who thiks differently, who tries to break the perfect ant society. In the past they used to burn withches....

  • Yes, milenapiscis. You may begin, for example, by teaching to north american nazist parties ,the real evolutionary laws of Darwin. The nazis are growing in Europeand USA.Can you make this real , for mankind ?

  • I think all of us should be less selfish.. in a way all of us are selfish.. we need to help other people, people who need more than us.. there is always someone next to us waiting for some help, someone that need more than us..

  • Estimado Pablo:

  • the living universe foundation; colonize the ocean and eventually outer space; aquarius sea colony runs solar power, reduces greenhouse emissions, grows food, release population from urban overpopulation. marshal t savage.

  • have something for nothign (this then leads to an ethical question as too will the world become 'spoiled' wich I think it would unfortunatly so maybe this pyramid scheme the world is under actually makes sure the world keeps going round). anyways we have other things to do than labouring in crappy jobs, we have a universe to explore, science to advance, we are on the verge of connecting humans together to become one new system(like cells)

  • (PART3)diminish....technology will advance and new needs and hence jobs could be created (uselessly keeping dinosaur jobs is not good for mankind...keeps goods prices up and is anti povert in the long run). So if we can have an automated system that takes care of verything so that we are in global equililbrium between the generation of ressources and the consumption of resource then it could be possible than everyone on earth could

  • This is corporations worst nightmare...and they are gonna do everything in their power to keep the technology intheir hands....Of course to get there, it is necessary to have a 'transition' phase wich will require human (PART2)intervention(conception, repair, management, production) but as automation is augmented....human intervention is dimished, and I can see it dimishing to virtually nothing....as jobs in these sectors

  • One way to help the poor ppl is automation and the indendance of automated systems from corp's. What I mean is if there was (or when) there will be ways to produce everything man needs with automation (robots, etc...) then everything would be free. The reason is...If no human intervention is needed to produce a goods then there is no cost to produce this good. Im talking about automising every part of the goods production.

  • would unfortunatly so maybe this pyramid scheme the world is under actually makes sure the world keeps going round). anyways we have other things to do than labouring in crappy jobs, we have a universe to explore, science to make advance, we are on the verge of connecting humans together to maybe become one new system (like cells group to become living thins like humans, humans themselves can come together to become something new ie internet mmo games).

  • i diddnt watch it i just felt like commenting LOLOL

  • Don't believe and trust everything your government and your media tells you. learn and educate yourself about other religions, cultures, and people .Don't hate and get angry! Remember, they DIVIDE AND CONQUER! protest issues peacefully.Don't mix people with their governments. We are all victims of our greedy governments! Raise your voice, it matters!

  • Very well put..I totally agree with you. There seems to be an agenda of hate being perpetrated in our society....

  • ok nieveathanati, if you say to make the world a better place remove people then we can start with you.

and its the things that set humands apart that makes the world a better place. if we were all the same, then by god it would be boring and stupid as your comment.

  • What would happen if a coalition of countries and corporations could be gathered up to support, feed, cloth, heal, educate, and finance just ONE country and teach that country to do the same for one other country? If we can empower one country, we can empower the world.

  • It is meaning what we should ask not for a better world. And the answer what gives meaning to live is love. We should teach how to love. Most people doesnt. The reality is that many powerful and decisionmakers doesnt anything about love. But love is not an emotion or a fealing. Love is a force that moves and change human beeing. It is the most poweful. Lets start by changing a dishumanized economy and by educating our children. But asking, it is meaningful for our world?.

  • I have offered an answer to Paul's question on the Warrior of the Light group on Facebook.

  • how 2 improve the world situation abolish capitalism increase taxes for things like chocolate or coffee start paying poorer farmers good money so thay can send there kids 2 school

  • The most grassroots way to improve evrthng in the world is TRUTH. Whether thr is a God or not, whthr the Bible is true or not, whthr we came from frogs and rocks or not, people must forget wht seems popular, wht their friends or fam would think, how coocoo many religions and religious people are, and find the truth for themslvs. Read the Bible for yourself. I've found it to be truth, and found a relationship with the Creator and Savior. Faith is not without evidence, not blind.

  • Well said!

  • Sir, the world is for a certain part in this deplorable state because a lot of people do their jobs as badly as you did this video. I hardly can hear, forget understand, what you are saying.

  • wil someone please explain what this davos organization is. thank you

  • Only 1 answer: Remove people. Its people that are the problem. The world is already good enough. It has everything to ensure a quality life for all living things and all people do is destroy it and each other. We cant seem to live with each other, but yet everything else on earth has to adapt to us. The world would be a better place... without us in it.

  • Love the video

  • Nice Video

  • The only radical and effective decision is the immediate annulation of the existing monetary system. The annulation of all the debts, debts of individuals, companies and countries and the instant replacement of the different currencies with one currency. The real economic power will be immediately transferred to the productive population.. The power of the capital holders will be lost at once, and we will witness a real revolution in benefit of the population, globaly.

  • It would be nice if my previous answer was even posted... is it still in "approval pending" mode..? The only problem with our planet is the (in)human race.... get rid of it and you'll have peace, love, goodness, prosperity, compassion... and all those good things so many talk about but are TOTALLY unwilling and incapable of... unless it's for their own good alone...

  • The Davos Question is a very unique concept. I had never heard of it until YouTube

  • we believe that the real answers are education, compassion, understanding and being selfless... think of the grater good and stop acting like our materials possessions define who we are. empower the peaceful process of exchange of ideas. one love.

  • There is a saying, "The path to hell is paved with good intentions." Tears are not enough. Words are not enough. What is required is simple daily action towards being of service to others. I believe the hero's journey is about following your bliss and doing what you love doing in service to others. If more opportunities could be provided to people to express their true passion in a spirit of service, the world would be a better place.

  • Make power and money seem like they aren't really cool things to have a lot of. And be mature. So what if somebody believes one thing and you believe another? Move on. Be happy in the power of peace, love, family, and friends!!!

"The greatest wisdom is in simplicity, "Love, respect, tolerance, sharing, gratitude, forgiveness. It's not complex or elaborate. The real knowledge is free. It's encoded in your DNA. hemp can take care of many of our basic needs.. food, fuel, clothing, shelter.....

    U r right....People can just be

equal in aspect of right to make choice on your own,

  • Thank you for opening the dialog to us. I have thought about such stuff since 2004 and never knew if anyone cared to hear it.

Well, I made my own Davos answer. It will be an honor if you check it out.

  • To be quite honest, many people have tried to change the world for what they believed would be better. For example, the British Empire, which once ruled 1/4 of the world - Many nations prospered from it e.g. Australia, Canada, NZ and mainly the USA; however it involved the slave trade. People believe communism is the answer - get fucking real!HITLER TRIED TO CHANGE THE WORLD - He believed he was doing the right thing. Things have never been accomplished peacefully and they never will be.

  • I'm Brazilian by the way, but have lived in the U.S. for a while, half American. I just wanted to first of all suggest since youtube is not first rate transmission, that the sound was very low, so what you can do is like turn the volume up on the, the output volume I mean, or the microphone volume, it makes a hell of a lot of difference.

  • Hey man, I never read your books but my mom has and I grew up with her telling me about your stories and I feel like part of your philosophy affected me in meaningful ways since my mom kept talking about you.

  • Legalize all narcotics.

The Davos question assumes the world is a bad place to be. It is only natural that a human being will try to change its perception of it.

It is expected that all violence under the name of traffic would cease. The drug market is becoming as organized as an independent government, ignoring it is the same as strenghtening it. Remove all boundaries between right and wrong, and we will be equal.

  • As long as power and greed rule our society as it does there is no answer to this question. I believe if there were one man rich enough and devoid enough of greed it is possible. I'm afraid the money and power in this society is in the wrong hands.

  • No more pesticides, no more wasting food on farm animals, using current technology to create solar and greenhouse industries for food in countries with poor growing conditions. No more useless jobs in useless industries. No more religion. And we're all good.

  • I agree with you! People everytime blame others. Or political,or religion, or God. But if we start to look inside, as the principal"planet", we will see that, if we can destroy ourselves by smoking , for example, we will be able to destroy everything . The answer to discover the origin and the end of universe is inside of our organism.

We came from the earth, and we will return to it.

  • Sorry, but our species has been around for over 100,000 years and "civilization" is about 6,000 years old. History just repeats itself except the weapons get deadlier and more destructive. I don't give our species more than another century before it self-destructs. People will NEVER wise up to the politicians.

  • Save this planet by flying to the moon!

  • the system has to come to a total cataclysmic crash. the money must become valueless if we are to move ahead. its clear that the banks are enslaving the world through interest.

  • I feel happier, safer and more relaxed around my own kind. I'm sure every culture in the world feels the same way.

Look at Australia, not much racism but still everybody sticks with there own kind.

  • To make the world a better place you need to stick with your own kind, and only help your own kind.

  • First of all,I do not want to change the world, uthopy at last, but I´m sure I can change myself positively in my thoughts, feelings and actions which will have a positive impact on people´s lives, this becomes a trascendent chain !Consciousness is the existence of god,I think people who sale weapons and drugs,at last will be punished by their own consciousnes, knowing the fact that they become rich by helping the action of assasinations of innocents human lives !

  • Sería bueno escuchar la pregunta en español para comentarla..Saludos

  • You're talking about an enormous shift in human consciousness and way of thinking. Our people, our planet could take charge if it wanted in a "no tolerance" attitude towards a "system" that does not work for the well being of ALL...(as it should be) but for the well being of a ruling elite that wants you as their client and under their rules.

  • Hey why don't you use logic...Idiot.

  • Its good to get people more conscious and conscience!

People seem so impatient and critical today. Nobody seems to have time for others.

Don't treat unkindness with more unkindness. Try and see beyond the situation and rise above it.

Show compassion to even the ignorant. For some, there is no hope, but if we become like them, then shame on us and our lives won't ever improve, we'll continue a vicious cycle of intolerance and hate.

    Be kind.

The question: Why we are discuss about this ?

The Answer: Because the peoples in our world are really sick...

Estamos discutindo isso porquê nosso mundo realmente possui pessoas doentes nele...

  • I know one specie the world would do without.

    Humans.

  • i have a tribute to heath ledger...very sad

  • OMG this guy is one of the greatest writers ever!!!

    viva paulo coelho!

  • Less democracy, and more freedom plus education = a better world. Measure peoples ability to think, judge and understand before giving them right to vote.

  • how can us, as a society meaning everybody, really improve the situation of the world. Please upload your answer in youtube.

  • Jesus Christ tried to better the world. Although I'm not religious, I see it this way. And look what they (WE!) did to him! So, it's useless to try it. Be an honest person - more can't be done!

  • don't believe and trust everything your government and your media tells you

learn and educate yourself about other religions, cultures, and people

educate at least one more person in your life

Don't hate and get angry! Remember, they DIVIDE AND CONQUER! Be United

protest issues peacefully.Get involved with charities and political issues.

  • Another reason to be a proud Brazilian!

  • Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

What we need is a change of consciousness, a change of attitude and an outpouring of compassion. We need to start seeing ourselves in the faces of other people, realising we are all brothers and sisters. We need to realise there is only one race, the human race. One religion, the religion of love. One economic system, that of fairness and generosity.

  • Amazing!

  • I disagree. I believe most people are not concerned enough with wanting to improve the world. Most people, I believe are satisfied with their current living situations enough they do not care what happens elsewhere(which includes their own neighborhoods). To make a significant difference takes extreme changes. Extreme changes only occur when forced. Force only occurs in certain situations. So, we as a worldly society will only change when we are forced to.

  • Participacao! Participation! participacion! Partecipazione! участие! 참가! Teilnahme! Participatie! NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • are you really paulo coelho??

  • you almost got it....NOT. the first two are ok. The second is a book of stories. Everyone tells it in there own ways. read celestine prophecy.

  • Abolish religion. It's as simple as that.

  • No one can do anything to influence the outcome of all the horrific issues in the world today. We can only choose to live peaceful no matter what anyone else is doing. It's our choice. If we could all live with integrity and honesty, deciding not to return evil for evil, we may have a chance to live in an almost peaceful existence. But that is only in my dreams.

  • i dont really like people that want to make the world a better place. Somehow they always end up making it a more shit place than it allready was.

I can hardly hear a word he says btw, so i just answer based on the comments.. lol

  • i cant understand a DAMN word he is saying... lets see.... this is what i think he was saying there... "us" "society" "and" and i think he may have said the word "the" once or twice...

  • The Alchemist was awesome.

  • I made a video response to this but I guess the clueless man who made it didnt clue into my response. It probably wasnt wholesome and PC enough.

  • Energy is is life, it cost money to generate energy, without energy there is no life. Free energy, free life.

  • Coehlo, what is going on with the Stock Market? We are going into a major crisis in capitalism and once again people will be losing their savings and jobs.

Thanks to the people that you are legitimizing with the "beg the master" initiative.

  • Those who like peace are more than those who work for killing their dream. But What's up with them? they're freakin cowards, prefer peace even in silent and shut up, so never will their voice reach, and still they need to teach themselvs how to trust their ownselves, Their cowardness made them a puppet in the hand of those who substitute for devil, when lucifer has bet his life, they can handle the bussiness way better than he can !

  • Human population is the cause of all our woes.

Our populations are only controlled by a few factors: Pestilence , Disease, Famine and War.

We have the ability to stifle all of the four horsemen but by doing so we have created a fifth Pollution. We have become Pestilence and War is the solution.

And thats a tough pill to swallow.

But the truth shall set you free.

  • beachboy comment (part II) - for starts lets denounce this abuse made at the expenses of the rest of the humankind!...when the would wealth distribution changes poverty will be reduced!...Sweden is a good example how things should work!

  • beachboy comment (part I) - well, do you know that the most important economy of the would is based and ruled on greed!...that means accumulating without limit and rule, that is without purpose or sense!...that leads to the consumption of resources and goods totally absurd (US has +/- 5% of the would population spends 45 % of would gasoline...); are they less men if they change there cars from 4,5 litres to 1,5 litres?

  • A question for the W.E.F.:

We need to consume more to keep the economy going, and, we need to consume less to keep our environment. Surely, this is absurd - how can there be a contradiction between economy and ecology?

  • i dont know who paulo coelho is but i feel that the root cause of everything wrong in the world comes down to choosing what is best for your close family and what is best for the wider world. you cannot help both. and of course every time your family and children are put ahead of mankind as a whole. stealing and crime are wrong in the wider world, BUT if my children are starving it is something any man will do.

  • Great revolutionaries don't just watch the world change. They change it for themselves.

Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Malcolm X, Che Guevara, Cesar Chavez, Rosa Parks, the list goes on... These people were not given any divine powers. They were normal humans, like you and I, who stood up for themselves in times of need.

I would like to see like this in my lifetime. Perhaps it will be myself, perhaps not.

  • ,,,,,

    ^^ nice

  • you could start by staying away from the world economic forum.

its essentially a gathering of corporate elites and wealthy nations that have imposed neo-liberal economic policies that are intensifying global poverty, disrupting local economies, displacing millions of land-based people, violating human rights and eroding environmental protections

  • my life is my world ---- i dont take advice from anyone about my world !!!!

  • My question is: What have you done personaly to improve the situation of the poor in this world, and to raise awareness to poverty ?

  • Try and find a little 206 page book called Ecotopia by Ernesst Callenbach. Printed 1975 by Bayam Tree Books. Respect the earth and set up a stable state system. Do away with victimless crimes and deal with white collar crimes just as severely as armed robbery or murder. A worldwide ban on pollution and a mass transit system that is more efficient than cars. Put corporation in the hands of the employees and make them part of what they do.

  • There are thousands of way to better this world but the rich want their money. Until we can defeat them and capitalism there is no hope. We're all doomed.

  • BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH!!!!!!!!!As my compadre Fransisco once said,"GE'VE IT A REST"

  • HEAL!!

Women are angry and men are lonely. Lets heal them.

  • the video just got featured so the sheep are a coming. great! this might get some of them to wake up, but its still an insult to the real sheep.

keep the peace and be a part of some solution. every day.

86,400 seconds every day... we can probably make better use of each one.

  • Hm... but I think capitalism and religion are natural things. You can destroy them, but the men will create something like it again and again. People don't know the to be equal.

  • It's because everyone is diferent in their own way. The only similarity with people is tha fact that we're Human beings, that's it, You look different, think different and act different from everybody else.. The problem lies in treating others how you'd like to be treated, self and mutous respect, and being able to commit sacrifices.

  • it's important to realize that it's not the system that we must change, but our ideals and concepts behind the system. Only then can we rebuild a system that has truly changed.

  • i don't think that's the problem, I think the problem is that most of the people are ****ing stupid and not capable of reading a book. and that's why they don't know shit about how blind and brainwashed they are. Once every one will be awakened (will never happened) We can change things.

  • thats so incorrect.. but of course ppl that thinks like u (very basic) make this sistems prevail

  • The basics,

    1. Enhance democracy: (some) industrialized countries should stop to support hideous regimes, and stop thinking they are too civilized.

    2. Poverty: industrialized countries have a moral obligation to help those countries they used to rob in the past (and stop those who still predate)

    3. Moral Education: teach to heed the moral advice "treat others as you would like to be treated."

    4. For US-Citizens, vote RP

For the how-question. Read more books and watch less videos :-)

  • Man are you wrong, America is whats wrong with the world today. Corporate America and all it influences are the reason for our suffering. Ask yourself what you really need, fast cars, walmarts, industrial strength cleaners? All you need to survive is the planet that is slowly rejecting the poison called human life.

  • back to basics: 2 points i can suggest

    1. developed countries should keep their noses out of other countries governance. most issues in afghanistan, indo-pak, middle-east are the creation of developed countries - the americans, british, russians, to be specific. the instability (political and economic) created is very difficult to resolve.

    2. developed countries should respect local industries in less developed nations and give them time to prosper, rather than pushing trade negotiations.

  • but democracy may not be the answer sumtimes too.yes i agree that democracy si the right way to rule for now.But what we dont see is that democracy is becoming diltued tyranny.

  • who are the people ruling the democratic counrties.usually very rich people who are supported by other power elites and rich buisneess men.who in turn help politicians who in turn help the power elites and rich buisnesses,so as u see the cycle..

  • total mass suicide. the world will be a paradise

  • hahahah great point.

  • yeah thats one, people should volunteer themselves for suicide.

    Put it this way:

You can either live through the horrible consequences we have coming our way and die a painful horrible death,

    ORR

You can be a hero and contribute to the healing of the Earth in a way that is no more painless than change despair.

    Be a hero.

Honestly if you want I will help set it up.

  • Ok, you first, and we'll follow.

  • "if you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make the change"... pretty good advice for a paedophile...thats the issue tho, stop watching shit TV, stop trying to look like barbie, stop judging people, stop thinking the world owes you something...get over yourself and do something meaningful...easier said than done I know I haven't...much respect to those who try

  • Yeah, Be the change you want to make sort of paraphrasing Mr Gandhi

  • You just judged people. Some people want to look like Barbie, some don't. I'm not going to say they are wrong for wanting to look that way. Everyone wants to watch different things and "shit TV" is defined differently depending on who you ask. I would say there should be less focus on what people watch and more on what people get out of what they watch. There is probably more I could say but I have to get back to homework. Less hate, more love.

  • It's simple: War makes money for large corporations. Large corporations own everything including the major media. Major media is incredibly deceptive, including YouTube. If people don't start going to publicly-supported, independent, non-profit sources of information, then we are all screwed.

  • You are so right buddy. War is business and the government can't break contracts with big corporations like JEEP or KELVAR or anything else that they sign million dollar contracts. Hundreds of these. War must continue in the government mind set. America is screwed and it will not get better no matter what. Nothing can be done now. It is no longer a democracy. It hides in the shadow of it but it is no longer.

  • Well this sources you have in such high stime are incredibly unreliable. And even if mainstream media is incredible desceptive i rather have a truth bended that the sole opinion of a one-sided source whit no way of telling if he is actually describing facts or the way they fell about it.Extremist protest groups are a HUGE example of this making themselves look like saviors when most of the time turn to violence and imposition to make his message being listened

  • Don't you think non-profit organizations have an agenda? HELLO! EVERYONE picks a side, independent or not.

  • "trample the weak, hurdle the dead" life need to go back to humans, not govenrment, or corporation. servival of the fittest is the only chance.

  • I DO LOVE YOU

  • who doesnt hes a freaking genious!

  • what's wrong is the people. not the religion. religion is there as it is. either you embrace it or leave it alone. the problem is, everyone is too selfish to solve these world issues. you do something just to benefit you and you alone, you don't bother how other people is doing. something like i mind my own business, you mind yours. its sad really. but i duno if theres ever any way that we can solve this problem. coz for every solution you come up with, there will always be consequences.

  • That's something that primarily comes from a capitalistic society, everything takes money. Naturally, the focus of everyone's life in a capitalistic society is earning enough money to do as we please. Trying to solve more than our own problems or larger issues only detracts from the time and resources we have to earn money. In the end, its not very often someone working for the greater good gets rich. They should be, but it doesn't happen in capitalism.

  • You know there isnt an actual way to solve this. Ever wonder why capitalism has been beating the living crap out of socialism. It has a lot to do whit the fact that human beings are indivualist and selfish. I belive the best way to live your life its to mind your own bussines whitout fuckin someone else if you do that you are way ahead that most of the people on this planet

  • first things first - quit blaming systems of government and religion etc for the worlds problems. "religion is never the problem its the people who use it to gain power"

so ive come to the conclusion that if u want to make the world a better place the first place every single individual has to start is with themselves. If the entire world population were content with themselves we wouldnt have corruption in our society caused by people seeking power. BE THE CHANGE

  • population birth control in every country.

controle de natalidade em todos os paises.

  • first things first - stop blaming systems of government, heirachy and religion for the worlds problems

"religion is never the problem, its the people who use it to gain power"

this is the world we live in and its not gonna change - its the people who have to improve their attitudes. everyone do their bit - be humble and caring towards others, thats all it takes. simple changes, nothing drastic

  • Ok Davos, we can improve the earth by sterilizing 90% of the population & destroying all technology.

    Thats what I think.

  • 1.don't believe and trust everything your government and your media tells you.learn and educate yourself about other religions, cultures, and people.educate at least one more person in your life.Don't hate and get angry! Remember, they DIVIDE AND CONQUER! Be United.protest issues peacefully!Don't mix people with their governments. We are all victims of our greedy governments!

  • Help the needy when you can and want to, dont botter them when u can't help them or just dont feel like.. that would make the world get better in a short time... but for some guys stop bottering people is even harder than give some help.

  • Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Human nature will never change. We were probably better off with 'sticks and stones'.

  • Paulo Coelho ... amazing writer, love his books ..

  • Take actions when you see injustice and be at peace with yourself and others.

  • If somehow I could motivate people to experience new things. Like his book. "The Alchemist"

  • Ive seen some people that don't have the motivation to learn and to see things differently. they live in there own little reality, not realizing that they're the ones that need to change. many of them are low income and seem like they're unable to experience the joy of...

  • Negatives are much more revealing than positives.

  • Establish a Youthcorps. Send as many children as can be afforded abroad. Have them stay with host families in other countries and learn the language and culture. Broaden the horizons of young people allow them to see what teachers and parents can not provide, a world perspective. Then maybe we can start talking about peace on Earth for real.

  • u are a piece of all shit that exist in this so called world of our own..

  • If you want to really improve the state of the world you'd better start with population control. Realize that right now with a population growth rate of 3% the population of the world will be TWENTY times larger in 100 years! You really think we have enough natural resources to handle that. Al Gore, why don't you say anything about this!!! We're toast unless the world gets together on this one and real soon! One child per family or the end of civilization--you choose.

  • The current system do not allow that type of change without a disaster,,and by disaster I mean something like a global economy collapse for instance.

I have no problem in lose all my materials things, knowing that the children will have a more equal and more safe world...

are most of you willing to sacrifice certain things, to achieve a future solution?

Where to start?, when to start?...No doubt...WE NEED A REVOLUTION ( I hope a peaceful one).

  • stop eating hotpockets

  • so think about my words, and others' as well, because one day, we might not be able to say them...

  • well..the answer is simple..u can start out by doing very small things like not putting people down who are trying to make the world a better place (like Davos). For instance this guy below me VivirlaUtopia, people like him only give off negative energy which really does not benefit anyone. I really respect this guy Davos for at least trying to get the message out that we all need to step up and do something positive so stop it with the unecessary irrational comments geez!

  • i am at this time wanting a change..and i think i should start with myself..i have a key word.."WHERE"..before asking "WHY".. to where i want my life to go.. and why i like my life would be there...but ofcorz with the guidance of my Shepherd.. because once you know where God wants you to be then you will know why.....good day to all.. God bless Mr.

  • "Man has dominated men to his oun injury", man has tried all kinds of gov. and nothing works. All we can do is treat others the way we want to be treated. but as far of solving the worlds problems... we will never make a diffirence cause we cant change people. The only way is to rely on God. but Not all believe in God, and follow his guidelines, and if you dont believe in the Bible what guile lines do you follow? your own? just like everyone else? follow Gods rule to the T

  • I think more people need to submit to islam.

    Alan Akbar!

  • oi paulo Coelho,

Na minha opiniao, aprender a ser feliz. Eu gostaria de aprender!

  • Also understanding what is a good question is so important. Each will learn to think of such a question everyday and to ask themselves if they end up as part of the problem or a solution.

I suggest be the person you want to see. Then don't worry so much, enjoy the process!

Thanks to the person who puts such a question out there. It is a start, that we need to make everyday.

  • in my opinion, we dont need select groups working on this problem, we need everyone. so what if we have to postpone Mars ventures, we need to think about the problems back home first before we go and invade someone else's and fuck it up like we have ours. things like this are good on youtube, we need as amny people as we can to post comments reply with videos, because the human race has done enough talking, and no walking.

  • Ahh yes the perplexing query. My suggestion is to do what Shakespere suggested, KILL ALL the LAWYERS. As a good place to start. Sooner the better I say

  • Totally eradicate organized religion.

  • then we have chaos. people will kill, steal, and take. You dumb fuck, we need order without greed and power. Obviously you have nothing in the world you care about. Think of a more constructive solution. The key is to think first dopey...

  • for example, zimbabwe was once the leading supplier of food for the WORLD, now, with their military dicatator, it is nothing more than one rich, evil man controlling millions of lives and crops. however, how do we rid him of his power?

  • this is a question that wont be answered quickly or easily. sure getting rid of money, hirarchy and certain forms of government will help, but doing that alone does not even scrape the surface of the whole problem. if there was no government in the world, no order at all, it would most likely be in more disastrous shape then it is now. and how do we rid the developing countries of there military dictators?

  • We should all move to florida, build a river that will cut it off from the rest of the states. The Freedom River. Ship off the elderly and chinamen. then the government will provide free beer and pinball for everyone!!! YIPIKAO, BOY I TELL YOU WHAT! then we dry up the swampland and replace it with a chicken farm for fried chiken.

  • Speak up sonny!

  • ...ok...and then what?

  • To improve the world we must first improve ourselves. Believe in something - a power greater than our individual selves, and treat others as we wish to be treated. Value justice, show mercy, walk with the understanding that others you meet add to you in some way.

  • be genuinely nice to people

    everybody happy!

  • The World Bank and the IMF economic reforms on countries across Sub-Saharan Africa have made things worse than ever. Billions of dollars are being given in aid every year, yet poverty, corruption, disease, and conflict is still rampant. Initiatives should be characterized by pragmatic solutions, not just throwing money or spreading democracy and capitalism everywhere you go.
