@xAshe10x I did it on playstation and had no way to transfer it to computer that I know of. But I can tell you how to do it. Basically same as you did except have only one person up.
Try it.
P.S.: First point in the game you can do it I think is the ruby dragon that you fight in disc 2 with Kiros, Laguna, and Ward. It seems like it was possible to get Tonberry by then and get the Level UP move. You can do that as soon as you have control of Garden.
@xAshe10x Perhaps it's different in your version? I'm certain that I saw a jump of 40 levels. Also, is hexadragon the highest EXP? I had thought it was the ruby dragon, but I wouldn't be surprised, I know the hexadragon gives a ton.
Just wanted to say Ashe that some people are real dumb... i mean RREEAALLYY DUMB! You make a great guides for FF games and you give out your wisdom for free so i dont know why people hate but they should just stfu, if they dont like it then they should do it their own way rather than coming on here and typing sheeeet! I mean serious everyone plays FF's there own way so why bitch saying "dont do it like that" or "your way is rubish do it this way". does it realy matter?? we love FF and thats that
As stated in other comments, you can Card and Petrify enemies to avoid almost all of the exp in the game. The rest can be distributed between your characters to avoid gaining levels. On top of that, levels make the game more difficult if you ignore junctions. Most VIII veterans do go out of their way to avoid levels so that they can take advantage of the Bonus abilities to get higher stats. Being at low levesl at this point is not only quite easy, but optimal.
@xAshe10x ur the noob, ur times nearly up and none of ur characters are even at the lvl where they could even get the ragnarok. let alone get to the island closest to hell.
Too funny, you can avoid EXP by Carding enemies, using Break spell or Devour, Devour is used to gain the stat ups, you can basically max stats without leveling up. and levels doesnt matter in this game junction good spells is. thats all i have time with to explain to sucky ass noob like you
@xAshe10x you cant progress in the story of the game without having to fight. some fights are unavoidable and for those you get exp. it is with them you are likely to lvl up on. and you cant get the abilty Devour that early in the game you need eden. unless you get yourself a shaman stone and for that u need Dark Matter, also not available early on in the game.
Plus the fact you have to resort to name calling shows you arent as pro as you think you are.....

@xAshe10x Ok look its clear now that we have different ways to playing this game, as the last thing I wanted to do was start an arguement on line. especially with another FF player. I'll do this instead, dig out my PS and ff8 and do things your way. if it pans out, i'll be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong. im pretty sure it cant be done, but I will try. it beats arguing anyways.
Get Diablos before Leaving to Timber and learn ST MAG RF Abillity then buy Softs in the shop and refine them into Break, You cant card the soliders that you fight in Timber so Break is the way to go to avoid gaining EXP. As for the SEED exam Kill off Squall and Zell and let Seifer get all the EXP. The only time you cant avoid gaining EXP is at the Missile Base in Disc 2, but you will not level up because it won't give enough EXP.
i thought malboros give the most exp. but anyways, every time you level up, the exp points you gain from monster go down. so the higher you level the less exp you gain from monster. i think if you level up only one character, it will level up 3 times faster...
Yep I made so that Squall only needed 6 EXP to Level up lol so he got 20 this time, i think this is the best i've tried other monsters but hexadragon seems to give most EXP
Best way to play ff8 is to get as much haste and str as possible on squall, fire up haste and berserk and have the other 2 guys just stand there
9999 9999 9999 9999 9999 like every 2 sec lol :)

An easier way to do this: Quistis-yellow hp-initiative-degenerator.

I got you beat, my friend. I have leveled up a character 40 times from one battle. Also, I don't think that's the highest possible.

I can confirm that EXP doesn't split so it doesn't make any diffrence if only 1 character is alive

Because enemies level with you in FF8, wouldn't a low level game make the entire game EASIER, rather then harder?
With the exception of fixed level encounters, but they're all optional anyway.
