  • pretty advanced for a church

  • Didn't know Israel Houghton had a brother in Las Vegas, lol.........

  • i wish i had this setup at my school where i do lighting

  • Are those faderbeams? Haha those things are "awesome"

  • What would you recomend for a church that is just now starting out on some lighting things? What are some cheap lights that work good for starters and a lighting controler to use?

  • @xxviolinmanxx I'm no professional or anything, just do some lighting for a campus church group every third sunday by trial and error, but I've done pretty good with some PAR-36s and PAR-38s cans. You can get them for about $15 a piece, clamps for about $3. My set-up has them up on 8' tripod towers (~$25 a piece) and connected to a Stage Setter 24 (~$350 if memory serves) by way of a DI box on each tower. Toss up a few gels and it looks pretty darn good. Check out cheaplights . com.

  • @xxviolinmanxx The most expensive part would be the control board, the DI boxes (not quite sure what they are called), and the DMX cables. You can get decent extension cords from Walmart for around $9 for 40 ft. Good luck.

  • Wow! Looks an amazing lighting setup!

The quality on the camera is fairly good.

Would you have any tips on someone who is getting very much into lighting? I have started looking into DMX programs, and would love to learn more about lighting for events.

Looking forward to seeing more videos :D Al

  • nice very very nice, i am all the way from Belize, C.A here in Belize our church is trying break into this generation of inspiring and motivating youths, we are in the process of buying some lights, the goal is to have a stage to attract youths, doing church service and street ministry, so if you guys have some old used light let me know. Love your setup, i got excited see your video

  • heavy on the entertainment value and light on the religious value.

  • @praestant8

at my church i am the lighting designer and my goal for every service is to keep the religous reverence of the service and add a youthful more modern twist to it by adding lighting..so i dont really think that lighting takes away from church

  • @praestant8 Good! Because religion will get you nowhere... :) Jesus will though. And how could you even make an ignorant statement like that when you know nothing about the church and the people/staff??

  • @wolfec The Word wasn't ever meant to be "sold" by means of glitz, glamor, and expensive/entertaining production techniques. Clearly any church that buys in to that philosophy is missing the point of the Good News entirely.

  • @praestant8 Can you show me where it says that in Scripture...? Didn't think so.

  • @wolfec I think the story of Jesus tossing out the money changers from the temple is a good place to start. Would these entertainment based mega churches (which is what they are) give up all their capital and follow him? Would they give up ticket revenue from the latest christian band to grace their technologically impressive stages. Some perhaps, but I'll bet most wouldn't... and they will have their reward.

  • @praestant8 You obviously are very sheltered and don't go to one. I, sir, attend Newspring Church in Anderson, SC. It is the biggest church in the state of south carolina. It has 5 campuses stretched across the state. The pastor, Perry Noble is one of the most wise men i have ever heard speak. He presents the Gosspel like I've never heard it presented before. Before you go out judging a church because they have a different technique of bringing in the lost, try it before you knock it. God bless

  • @wolfec Yes we all know its the size that matters. So how much does this pastor make with all those campuses? Thanks, case closed. True disciples aren't getting rich off it. As Christians we are called to judge the words of men vs. those of God. Sadly some people just don't get it and have no problem making a quick buck or starting a religious corporation "in the name of God" claiming they are reaching unchurched. But what are you feeding them with, meat of the word, or marketed cotton candy.

  • @praestant8 Oh boy if you only knew, my friend. You're bashing your body right now just you know.

  • @wolfec Or possibly defending the body from a cancer. I know what NewSpring is all about thanks. I'll pass.

  • @praestant8 Have you ever been to Newspring? Or you "know what Newpsring is all about" because of what you've heard on here...

  • ummmmmmmmmm, lots of toys to play with at your church

  • Really nice, Im a lighting designer too at my church and I love lighting! Love yalls system!

  • dude i hate churches they always get money for some reason so they can get new lights

  • Your church has a hog??? DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!!!! Nice!

  • Talk about mega church...lol

  • this is your church? can i come?

  • wonderfull stage! i have just purchase some led parcans and a little DMX controller for our church. Its just a tiny set, so we have to buy some moving heads... Thx for sharing this vid :) /Emanuel

  • i have a question...the projection screen on stage, is that rear projection? if so, what are you using to control what's being thrown up on the screen? thanks!

  • What is the rig made up of?

  • @samj909...the rig is made of 26 studio colors,24 studio spots(I think)12 x.spot xtrem, 8 studio beams(4 being use), 2 DL.P, And Varlite VL2C(about 24 units)

  • this is unbelieveable...ive never seen anything like this.....God Bless u man....may God use u for more churches and even christian concerts.....GB!

  • WoW Does That Bring Back Memories.

That is an awesome board & great job on the demo.
