@FanOfJanis I probably wasn't clear. I don't mean to disparage 50's, 60's, 70's, etc music. There is awesome music form those decades. I mean the influence of the 80's is most prevalent today. Songs on the radio NOW you could easily have heard in the 80's, whereas those other decades had a sound you don't hear much any more. It's almost like music didn't progress much after the 80's and everything is being recycled from that point.

Back when MTV showed videos 24/7. And they all cost $5 to make but had attitude lol. The 60's and 70's sound fades into obscurity but the 80's live on even in today's music...

@FanOfJanis I probably wasn't clear. I don't mean to disparage 50's, 60's, 70's, etc music. There is awesome music form those decades. I mean the influence of the 80's is most prevalent today. Songs on the radio NOW you could easily have heard in the 80's, whereas those other decades had a sound you don't hear much any more. It's almost like music didn't progress much after the 80's and everything is being recycled from that point.

@Cryofax I agree with you b/c every now and then when I'm driving and hear a new song, I'm like, this sounds like and 80''s song...your commentary about today's music is very accurate...music doesn't really seem to have progressed to much since the 80's - wonder why?

@Cryofax I have NEVER heard anything like todays music in the 80s.. I can enjoy the boring music from 50s-90s better than the good music of the 2000s.. Completely different style of music making during those years you must be deaf to not hear the difference.. Back then they knew what they were doing with electronica each song had its own unique sound.. These kids don't create their own music because they aren't talented

I was in high school in the 80's. 1985 I was a sophmore and Madonna just released "My Lucky Star". The 80's were alive and alot of fun!!!

Even though she is totally not my type of woman, when I was a teenager and saw her in this video on the 80's, I still found her attractive. I think her great energy and attitude contributed to that.
And 20+ years later, I still feel the same way.
