I've had hookah for a while a one day decided to break the charcoals in to 5 pieces with the tongs by taping on the coals with the tongs and placing 4 on the sides and one in the center i found it easier and richer smoke let me know what y'all think

@iRJRx Tastes differ, but my favorites are Nakhla Tropicana and Nakhla Mizo Peach, they're absolutely AMAZING. If you don't want to smoke tobacco I recommend Hookah-Hookah Evolution, it's made from tea leaves and it tastes really nice but you won't get a buzz.

You don't really want the tobacco to touch the foil because it will cause the tobacco to burn. You want to bake it, not burn it. Burning it would be like what you do with a cigarette (causing ash). When you're done with the shisha it's still there because you baked it.

@soldieofallah I learned everything I know from my friend who owns a hookah bar, he used to take me in the back and let me pack the bowls for his clients. I have also experimented with different amounts in the bowl and this idea of using an apple. I have found that using less is a much more enjoyable experience. It hits better, doesn't give you that bitter flavor when it burns, and is less wasteful.

By the way for people starting to smoke hookah i would recommend that you DO NOT use quick light coals like this guy because they are made from chemicals and gun powder. use natural coals. also use 3 and put them on the outer rim of the bowl. if your in america i would recommend buying "COCONARA NATURAL COALS."

no it's not, look at how ashed they were when he lit them! You know nothing about quicklights, when it's all ashed over like that, you will only get 10 min. of a horrible session. You gotta get three, keep two on the bowl, put one across from each other to get a good start, then start stacking them and rotate them around the bowl. That's how you use quicklights!

@McLawlz Nope. I'm Palestinian. Palestinians are part Turkish (Most are anyways) and Turks perfected the shisha/hookah. You use three on the bowl with naturals, then use two on the bowl with quicklights. You must get really crappy sessions :O

@TheMoparDrvr I've seen people that own hookah lounges SUCK at actually setting up a hookah, so, it may be a nice title but it doesn't mean much. It's all up to the individual though. Personally he put to many holes( sweet spot is 15 SMALL holes) ....wasted 2 coals and a sheet of tinfoil....but it's the way he likes it so ....whatever works.

@TheMoparDrvr Well, first of all I was shown to do it that way but I use a tooth pick, so the wholes are a little bigger than yours would be which means with few ( well placed ) holes I have the same airflow and still don't end up smoking coals as well.
