this gpu gonna kick some major ass.. id rather wait for them to get it right instead of making a rushed product just to compete with ati.. i cant wait to get my mittens on a couple of these.
Who gives a shit about this super computer science bullshit, why are they breaching their gaming gpu's with there Quadro type gpu's? They haven't showed a single screenshot of a game running on Fermi yet, instead they have all this other bullshit that means absolutely nothing to us gamers who are the people spending our hard earned money on their products. Why the hell would be want Double Precision or ECC? Gimme a break Nvidia, im going back to ATI.
ECC makes the card more reliable correcting small errors and such so thats pretty good for us and I am sure Nvidia has not forgot about the gamers considering that is their main income so I can happily say that this card should out perform ATI's 5970 because they won't release a card that cant compete.
@TokerMate Dude, no ECC is crap and is not needed unless you are doing experiments and running code that is disturbed by the mega small particles incoming from space- thats what ECC is for. Its a server based technology as well, Trust me i had to buy ECC Ram for my AMD Athlon FX-53 gaming computer that i bad before this one, and it was nothing i ever saw a benefit from. Nvidia has strayed from its gaming roots, they even call this an innovation for Science not gaming like it should be.
oh okay thanks, I still think it will out perform the 5970 because if it doesn't no one will want to buy it but scientists and they wouldn't make much cash off that, I am just going to wait until they are released and if they suck ill just buy a 5970 or whatever is best at the time.
You guys need to make an affordable AIB Tesla for the home user that can accelerate many applications like games by offloading certain tasks that are normally on the cpu and provide benefits to programs such as windows media encoder by reducing encoding time.
No, it will not. GT300 should be improved G200b core, but it was stopped and Nvidia started to work on the new whole architecture - Fermin. New line of GKs will be probably introduce under the name GF100
ECC is use FOR REAL TIME APPLICATION!
