  • Am I the only one who can't stand chaat masala? The black salt in it just makes it taste like rotten eggs, just ruins everything you put it in.

  • i know but the taste doesnt really matter to me its the smell...it sometimes smells like osmeone pooped...

  • @Shirow66 Its an acquired taste. This means the more you make an effort to try it, the more you'll like it. Also means at first, it will almost always be not likeable. It has to grow on you.

  • What does "VAH REH VAH" mean, anywyas, folks? Anyone have any idea?

  • Its an expression of joy or delight in Hindi ( one of the national languages of India) usually said when you're enjoying something like poetry, beauty, music or food. Some thing like "wow !! " in English.

  • Awesome! Thanks, tallyhop... good to know! I love that it was chosen for this show, which often makes me reallh happy to the point where I find myself saying, "Wow!"

  • Vah reh vah is real taste of india showing a presense of taste buds

whenever in india peoples likes thier dish then they say vah reh vah to the person who prepared this

  • Vah Re Vah=== Wow! Oh Wow!

  • It is an urdu phrase of appreciation that is usually used by people when they like a poem being recited by someone. Poem recitals with a small group of audience is quite common in Muslim culture.

In northern Andhra Pradesh, there is a huge influence of Islam and urdu on the culture of the local people and a lot of telugu people use this and many other urdu phrases in their day-to-day vocab.

  • Vah Re Vah will literally mean "Hey, wow!". "Vah" is "wow" in Hindi/Urdu. "Re" has a few meanings, but here it will mean "Hey". Hope that helped.

  • I love tamarind chutney. I put it on everything.

  • I wish Indian food used less red food colouring :(... I can't eat it, and I would like to try a lot more dishes!

  • Its optional just to make the dish look better....I skip it all the time

  • Yeah, of course, and I don't use it at home either... I just wish that less restaurants used it so I could eat out more often!

  • you don't have to add the coloring. The taste would still stay the same.

  • Oh, hahaha. Of course, and I leave it out when I cook. I wish that less restaurants used it, though, because I love to eat out.

  • Oh ! me too .. Food always tastes better when somebody else does the cooking. :)
