  • Wurzels are BCFC not BRFC. And I'm suprised that if you went to Miner's arms in Bedminster that you left thinking this is a rovers song. I think there's another Miner's Arms in hippyville-st werburghs but I doubt if this was sung down there (Im an Exeter City fan but lived a long time in Bristol). Fuck it your all dirty northern bastards to me

  • bristol citys song :D

  • Everyone stand and drink to the Westcountry National Anthem

  • Nice to see you John (Amos) Morgan, sugar daddies are real good.

  • I live in East Lancs and work in Halifax, Yorkshire and there seems to be loads of exiles from the West Country up here (I notice there's quite a lot on these Youtube comments too) far more than I ever remember meeting when I lived in the South East/near London I wonder why that is.

  • I had a good go on thee cider last night, woke up with a hangover and a bloody nose where i fell over...got a bit belligerent by the end and got barred from a chat site i was on lolol...good stuff xD

  • Last night I learned of this song at The Miner's Arms pub in Bristol. It's a Bristol rovers fans chant.

  • Thatchers Gold! A propr zomerzet zider!

  • @DiabloCG Try the Thatchers without that Fizz even better! and usually unavailable outside of zummerset!

  • @DiabloCG In the 1960's Stan Thatcher at Sanford was one side of the road, and Champneys was a bit further down the road . . . . I can recall Stan sitting on the barrels of cider where the main outlet is now, looked a bit diffrerent then, but they joined forces with Champneys' after Stan's passing I believe, and that's why Thatchers is now available outside of Somerset.... a bit of trivia for you x

  • bristol city till i die

  • i had just actually seen these down at butlins in minehead over last weekend.

  • This is a contender for the first album I ever owned! Bristol born and Somerset Da so it works for me! As for accents it seems to be a bit of both. I had a book "Krek waiters peak Bristol" that may help. Wife calls it "English as a second language"

  • Thanks for posting this.....how recent is this? Haven't seen the Wurzels for 30 yrs!!

    A Somerset lad (ex pat)

  • is this filmed in St.just rugby club?

  • Legends!

  • In 1969 I booked Adge Cutler & the Wurzels for the Summer Ball at St. Luke's College in Exeter. They were brilliant and this song was the best. Adge & Co lined up alongside such bands as The Small Faces and blew everyone away. Great band, great memories! Small Faces were £650 for 40 minutes and they were terrible...must have had an off night! That was a lot of money for 1969.
