There is nothing wrong with older siblings helping to raise younger siblings. It happens every era, in every culture (except China, probably). Everyone has a developed skill or talent and Michelles is being a family manager and a mother. I think its awesome to watch someone who has found there calling, and all the better that they can raise so many emotionally balanced kids.

I understand that the Duggars are leaving it up to God how many children they will have, but I think its just got way out of control. She has so many children that Michelle cant even be a mother to all of her children, and almost pawn them off to the older children to basically raise them. It seems she cares for her new baby around the clock, but then in less than a year she always has another and her attention then goes to the new baby and the older kids are left to care for the other baby.

I agree with you novack. It stopped being ok having so many kids when the parents can't take care of them and make the older girls raise the younger ones. It's fucking wrong.

I'd be ok with it if the older boys and the parents pitched in too, you know, like a real family. Not the current oh the boys are kings! The girls are just household running, slave vagina's with bodies attached.

@novack86 I had a really big family (11 children) and we had something like the buddy system... You may think it's the mom 'pawning' the child off to the bigger kids... It's not like that at all. We just help and guide our siblings. The mother is always central. If one of us had a problem being a buddy with a younger child, we would say so. It's not like they are forced to do it. There's nothing wrong with helping you mother. When I was 16 I was with my 3 yr old sister and it created a good bond
