  • whel my hfp si is now camed and ive had it dynoed again..and i"ve found that when i hade it dynoed last..the dyno was wrong...its now running at 194.4 whp,,and 155 wtq.....i would say that is about right for what i have done to the motor..

  • 174 tq with your mods keep dreaming more like tha 140 s or 150s if that

  • The guy that dyno 211 must have been on the dyno that reads high but whatever nice number man.

  • needs boost.! lol nice car.

  • damn.,my 08 si 4 door put down 211hp,and 172 in tq.and i have injine cold air intake,test pipe.

  • @froggyfireman

Nice numbers but I'd say that dyno reads high. You can't compare two different dynos, in two different locations, by two different people, on two different cars. No two dynos will read the same. It is been my experience that a majority of the 8th gen Sis dyno around 180-190 whp (stock) on a dynojets.

  • @froggyfireman 172 torque is way too high. that dyno is a little off.

  • VTECCCCCC KICKED INNNN

  • @srt4slow

Currently the Hondata FlashPro is the only "full" EMS available that allows us to keep our dashboard functions which are controlled through the ECU. It gives the ability to tune just about every aspect of the stock ECU without having to remove or replace the ECU. There are other standalone options available like Haltech and AEM but they aren't specifically made for the Civic platform. Check out Hondata.com

  • @srt4slow

This was way before there was anything available to tune the ECU. Nowadays many people are getting over 200 whp with intake, header, exhaust & tune. Its also difficult to tell how low/high the dyno reads without having completely stock run for comparison. I'd say even with intake it might have gained 3-4 whp. The number seems pretty accurate for the motor being rated at 197 hp (crank) and factoring in power loss through the transaxle.

  • Impressive numbers man, make me curious as to what mine's putting out. I'm going to guess this is at sea level though right?

  • @ryan1rode Yes this is at sea level

  • NICE. Love the sound!

  • good looking 4 door

  • ill put my K20Z3 up against ANY other 2.0L ( N.A ) out there, and i bet my motor will out perform, out run, and out last ANY other motor out there. GUARANTEED!

  • couldnt even hear the vtec crossover :(

  • are you in maryland, cuz i swear i saw that car at browns honda, i dont see many of that year wuth that blue...

  • thats actually good numbers considering you really have no mods

  • I thought 07 si had 197 horspower ??? WTF ??? How does he have less even with an intake ???

  • @JulientypeS Wheel hp is always less than flywheel hp.

  • @JulientypeS It does produce 197 HP, but at the crank. Ground/Wheel HP is always less from the crank. Manufacturers will always advertise their cars HP from the crank. So buying a car with an advertised 300 HP probably puts out about 260-270 to the wheels.

  • wow nice torque numbers, i think a kids big wheel makes the same... Lame car

  • @zaryla9884 Go ahead, strap your big wheel down to the roller and see what she puts out. I'll wait :D

You're cool bro, wanna be Facebook friends?

  • @xsrcivic Yea, well i'm traing for WSM (worlds strongest man) competition and i'm willing to spin em. I max'd out a 790lbs squat last night!!!! definatly could get em rolling.

Yeah bro send me a friend invite on the fb.....you farmville? I got alot of pink cows i need someone to lasso.

  • @xsrcivic its all good man ZARYLA9884 is just mad cause he's still rollin in his moms focus

  • @Zanidean9 Yeah you right but your mom seems to like it.

  • @zaryla9884 wow man you had all that time and all you can come up with is a mom joke haha just shows wat kinda person you are

  • Comment removed

  • @zaryla9884 fag

  • @zaryla9884 your a faggot just cuz its not a car you like dont hate you fucking guelebitcho and if you dont like the car dont watch the video simple s that you dumb shit

  • @zaryla9884 Fag.

  • @hawksnhl16 Your vocabulary amazes me. If that is the best response you can muster up, WOW!

  • @zaryla9884 why are you sitting here hating on the si? your big wheel can make more tourqe? OK. get on ur little toy so i can run you over with my coupe hahaha. troll..

  • can anyone tell me wats wrong if the AC always stay on????i have a 07 si sedan and got that promblem..help me out...thanx.

  • not bad power for little mods on a 2 liter, even though it is the K20. I have a turbo RSX-S. The Civic Si should have a K24 with 220 hp or so an dit'd have more torque

  • only 187hp...Aint It 197 Stock At The Wheels....Plus Nice VTEC Sound

  • slap a full race turbo kit on that k20z3 beat of an engine and you got yourself a zo6 eatin monster only on highway runs tho just cant beat that low end grunt them v8's got

  • fa5 ftw

  • OMG LOVE THE VTEC!!

  • i wish honda would do rear wheel drive for their si division

  • I thought the si was rear wheel

  • what was the top speed

  • wow this motor gets as much to the ground as my 3.0L V6 does stock! But I make 70 more ft lbs of torque.

  • @cyclist14

I'm not sure how to take this comment so I'll just say thanks.

  • @cyclist14 Its funny cause This car is 1.0L Less and is 2 cylinders less then your V6 =]

  • I think it's incredible that this car puts out the same whp as my stock 02 wrx did. Amazing that Honda got that motor to put out the same hp as a turbo'd motor, minus the turbo obviously.

  • @scadush

I don't believe this to be true considering your motor has to supply power to all 4 of your wheels rather than only 2. But given the size of this motor, the output is pretty good. If only there was more torque available.

  • @xsrcivic what??? wrx are FWD. and even if it it did, all 4 wheels whp would be counted..... (only WRX STI are AWD)

  • @hernandadmx

    all subarus are AWD

  • @hernandadmx ha ha ha ) you need to learn more about subaru cars first ) even regular impreza awd ) awd doesn't really mean that it will go fast ) and new wrx would lunch faster then sti )

  • @hernandadmx wow ur a fucking dumbass stop talking EVERY SINGLE SUBARU IS AWD wow go kill urself

  • @Andrew87890 theres fwd subarus you dumbass, in the 90's

  • @FallenRiderr sry to say there was not

  • @xsrcivic god your a cool dude...not a fan boy it is what it is lol.. good vid

  • What was the correction...ex sae , std and what was the smoothing on? I got 189 stock on a dynojet stock. 197 with intake...but yeah your car did sound like it was lagging for some reason like it wasnt pulling hard....which could be just the video itself....

  • @mikesho2000: I honestly don't remember, this video is 3 years old now and extensive modifications have been made.

  • are people really comparing civics and vette's here. haha, dont forget to add in insurance, on that thing. unless your over 50

  • 0:39 *back wheels somehow kick in* "Oh shit..... I didn't like blue anyway"

  • @JJ388JAr oh ok thanks :)

  • @JJ388JAr yeah i totally realized how dumb my last question was. do you mind explaining what natuarally aspirated is?

  • are all the SI's supercharged?

  • @paulerbear119 no stock hodas are supercharged

  • @hondarox715 ok thanks, sorry that was a completely stupid question

  • @hondarox715 i think you can get supercharged two litre honda engines from japan. i dont know what they use them in though and they definetly dont use them in north america.

  • That´s the Civis Si I love!!!! I prefer this car over the two doors Civic.

  • Damn thats a loud intake

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not a fan of civics, but what do you consider a good car in that category? A Cobalt, lol?

  • Comment removed

  • @matthewcrabbe If you are looking for a VTEC-ish sedan, without it being Honda, try finding a 2005-2007(?) Toyota Corolla XRS. It has the same 2ZZ-GE motor and 6-speed manual transmission from a Celica. It uses VVTL-i (Variable Valve Timing Liftoff - with intelligence), which is pretty much the same thing as VTEC. It engages at around 7000 RPM's and gives you close, if not over, 170BHP.

Otherwise, Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V or Cobalt SS Turbo is a nice comparison.

  • @Litestorm17 Thanks for the info, but I was being sarcastic to the guy that called it junk and to go watch fast and the furious.

  • @matthewcrabbe Oh lol! I didn't get that far into the comments.

  • @Litestorm17 Yeah I actually had to scroll back to see what I said.

  • the engine on this car feels so strong!!!

  • I don't know if I want to trade in my 02 f250 with a 6in lift, for a 4door 07 si. Should I?

  • That's a pretty big difference in automobiles. I'm not a truck guy at all so I would choose the Civic.

You have to decide what is the best route.

  • @zerotime2 yes lol

  • @zerotime2 Im getting rid of my lifted half ton for an Si, mainly cause I am sick of my gas milage, and going through tires. I want something that gets good gas mileage, but still is fun to drive. I say do it.

  • @zerotime2 im sure the si would do better on fuel...

  • @zerotime2 dude im only 14 ok nd my dad has a honda civic si sedan nd b4 he gt it supd up it was amazing but then he jst recntly gt a ajp turbo nd more (im not gona list its to long) nd im sory to dis any company out ther but u guys r crap compard to ajp. i didnt think it was posible to put 431 hp in a one stage turbo set at 10.8 psi. this car is probly a 11 or 12 secnd car this car will probly beat feraris nd lambos ns crap so i recomnd getn an si. nd serch up ajp turbo nd u can see ther vids

  • @zerotime2 fuck yeah

  • @zerotime2 1 word YES

  • @zerotime2 ummm idk.... depends. usually change isn't that great if need it. If you're young get a 2dr si. Much quicker and sportier

  • @zerotime2 if there are no seasonal flooding in your area, you could.

  • @zerotime2 yup

  • @zerotime2 if you like truck stay with it but civic's are nice wit a couple mods

  • rofl i get more hp then that stock

  • Oh no! You really got me there!

  • haha rofl your dumb as fuck unless your driving a modified focus svt of course you have more power, you probably dont even have a 4 cylinder youve probably got some shitstang. so ford guy what do you got, how many cars have you seen stock that make 100 HP per liter.

  • @Fordguy772 Stock: 200bhp x 0.88=176whp

  • @Fordguy772 But we get more miles per gallon. The money we save on gas, we can spend to boost our cars. While your car stays stock and is burning a hole through your pocket with all the gas it guzzles. :D

  • @Fordguy772 itd about the weight to power

  • I have a aem cai and other than that its a stock 2008 civic si sedan i dynoed it this weekend on a dynojet. 177whp and 130lbs! Stock is said to be a 172whp!! This is the most accurate number for stock whp for a civic si. I gained 5hp with the aem cold air intake. I think your numbers are a little ballooned! Cause ur telling me u made 10 more hp with a custom pipe?

  • well i guess it could be possible

  • You can't compare one dyno to another. Many factors can skew the results even if its on the same dyno. There are a few different types. For example: a dynojet will not read the same as a dyno dynamics. The true test to compare 2 cars is on the same dyno, on the same day.

  • true that

  • @fastcar4556 um can you tell me how 130 pounds is a performance rating haha

  • @fastcar4556 177? i cleaned up (cleaned the fuel injectors, changed spark plugs, oil, etc) my 2007 Si sedan because i bought it used and it has 188 which i think isn't bad. you should have gotten the K&N CAI because it gets 7 which is exactly what i got, also a Borla Boomer because it guarantees a 7-10 pecent hp gain which is worth the 200 or so for a muffler, and DC ceramaic coaated headers.

  • @fastcar4556 i didn't dyno after the headers or the muffler but i do know that Honda's have a pretty restrictive exhuast system so i'm guess with the muffer and the headers i got at least a 13% power gain (24 hp) for around 500. its sounds great too

  • i love the sedans.. their raw as fuck... i have a 95 sedan and i plan on getting this one.. having them both :]

  • idk why but I love the Si stock rims, and especially on a 4 door.... wow...

  • I have an ap2 and I still <3 civic si's :D nice run. Now get headers, exhaust, and a drop =]

  • I don't get it... your modded civic is making less HP than stock?

  • The advertised numbers are produced from the crank. My numbers are produced from the wheels. Horsepower is lost from the motor through the transmission. Not many vehicles will dyno they're advertised numbers. Some forced induction cars are an exception (SRT4,EVO etc).

  • Hey, this question is for anyone reading this... I'm looking for a daily driver. I have a corvette right now but, I don't want to drive it during the winter anymore. I would rather keep it for the nice weather. Anyway, my question is... Am I too old to drive a civic si sedan? I'll be 30 at the end of the month & my brother says I'm too old for a car like this. I really like it, especially after I drove it. I think it would be the perfect daily driver for me. What do you all think? Thanks

  • Wow since when is 30 too old? lol

Look there are plenty of "middle aged" men driving the Si and the R18 civic. As a daily driver I have no complaints, its starts every time, gets me to where I need to go and is very mod friendly. However, it does use high octane fuel (Si) and city MPG is lower than the traditional Honda cars since this car is "Sports Injected". But I doubt you are worried about MPG if you are driving a Vette.

  • Yeah, that's what I've been saying to him. He's telling me I should get an 05+ Acura RL. I want a stick first off, & second, it's mainly going to be a car to get me to work & local stuff. I don't need anything fancy. I think for the money the civic is a great car. Thanks for the comment.

  • I'm 28 and a high school teacher. I drive a 2008 silver Si sedan. The great thing about it is that it's not showy at all. It's a quick (not fast compared to a Vette, of course), agile, spirited ride with an 8k RPM redline that will make you smile, but it's also a family-sedan-lookalike that will not cause anyone to look at you like some overgrown little boy. It will save you a lot of gas over the Vette, and FWD is great in the winter, especially with snow tires.

  • @JordsterMovies vettes get good gas mileage noob.

  • @sujak27 Corvettes get 14-16 MPG in the city. That is not terrible, but it's not good. I like the part where you called me a "noob"

  • @JordsterMovies

Vette gets 30 mpg on highways.

  • @ScorpioFuror At 55 mph w/ the windows up and the ac off in 75 degree weather maybe. Any extra throttle and you're down in the low 20s on the highway. Lets' not forget about the mid-teen average city driving any Vette driver with a moderately heavy foot will experience. The Si will get 35 MPG at 70 mph easily. The Vette sure has come a long way, but arguing that it has "good" mileage in comparison to one of the best 4-bangers on the market is just absurd.

  • @JordsterMovies

Actually, it's a very good comparision: A V8 making 30 mpg against a 4 cylinder making 35 mpg. And, it can be faster: Just check out the videos at Youtube. The Vette makes 30 mpg with cruise control at 70 mph as well. You don't need extra throttle for the Vette to maintain 70 mph, and I'm talking about the car spec's as what it can do, not the driver.

  • @JordsterMovies

My C6 window sticker says 18 city/ 28 hwy. 16/26 under the new ratings which is B.S *I consistantly get over 30 mpg at 70 mph in 6th gear. At 70 mph I'm only at around 1700 rpm's. Around town I still average in the low 20's according to my info computer. I've owned this car since 2007 and I am very impressed with both it's city and highway mpg. It's a very light car @ 3,180 LBS and it's very areodynamic (0.28cd) -drag which really helps the gas mileage.

  • I didn't have enough room to finish. That city average is mixed driving, not all stop and go otherwise it would be right around where the window sticker rates it at. Still good for a V8 though.

  • @IrishChris1979

Your car probably weighs less than mine given that my Civic has around a 3200 lb curb weight. I'd love to own a Corvette but it isn't very practical for me. I have a small family and do drive this car on a daily basis. The good thing about light weight cars with powerful v8s is that you have added torque to push you around easily. Impressive MPG btw, I wouldn't expect that from a sports car.

  • @xsrcivic

Thanks, I was surprised myself actually. Anyway, I did end up buying a used 2008 Civic Si sedan in black fully loaded with navigation a couple of months ago. This car definitely gets better gas mileage than the corvette as good as it is. That's expected though. I've been very happy with it so far. It's a great daily driver with some nice pep. I think it sounds great for an I-4 with the stock exhaust. I am happy with my purchase :)

  • @JordsterMovies I agree with everything you said. I'm a 29 year old surgeon and I prefer the Civic Si! It's a fun, affordable, reliable ride.

  • @JordsterMovies GREAT COMMENT YO.. im in hs lol

  • dude get ur si

  • @IrishChris1979 - I'm in the same boat. I really like the specs of this car in terms of power, economy and reliability. I'm 30 and worried that it will appear that I'm having a midlife crisis on a budget. I'm not sure why I even care what others think...but, this car is not "too fast-too furious" looking. There are some subtle cues that this is no ordinary civic but I think it's not over the top. I say go for it. I told my wife I wanted the MS3 - she responded with "how old are you?"

  • you wont look like ur on a budget its a sweet car to be driving around

  • got proof? I'd love to see that.

good luck with your mullet btw..

  • Love the color on this, was just at the HOnda today testing a 2 dr but wanted a 4 door, they didnt have any in stock to test! However in 09 I dont think they make this color anymore and id pick White, just personal though! nice

  • yea the fiji blue pearl color was discontinued in 2007. my choice was between the tafetta white and FBP, at the time TW was pretty rare in a sedan.

  • Yah only ever seen 1 white one ever rollin in my town in Florida. Im stoked up for a used lux Acura 4 door but I do love the SI Civic Sedans, hard to choose. Both Honda so I cant loose!

  • thats bullshit because the fiji blue pearl was discontinued in 2009 because it was replaced with the dyno blue pearl..the fiji color was still made in 2008

  • i just bought a white 09 si! lol i love it no mods yet but will be ASAP!

  • good choice! I ended up checking out my finances and its best for me to wait till around December to pick one up so ill just have to bide my time I guess! Have fun, with yours!

  • i hope you get shot in the face :::::::::ryu1036 for saying ricer when there is absolutely nothing rice at all on the car u fuckface

  • Wow. Did I ever say it was fast? No. Is it quick? Yes, I think so.

Show me another car that runs on 4 cyl, 2 liters, no turbo/super charger, has 4 doors & will run mid to low 14 sec 1/4 passes all day long.

Not to mention this was back when I had intake and test pipe only. Now the car has header, exhaust & Cobb AccessPort.

Don't hate me because you're driving a 2002 Ford Taurus GL.

  • How much WHP is it putting out now? BTW get NST pulleys, its like $250 and gains of 5hp everwhere

  • aggree!!!!

  • ricer

  • then why are you watching, idiot

  • haha ford taurus wow

    lol

    Fag!

  • Nice #s! Your car is hot, I want.

  • 0:36 so SEXY INJECTED

  • rofl INCREDIBLE!!!

  • VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO!!!!

  • hey how much is it to dyno?

  • i kno that everytime i take my car in to get serviced the do a dyno run on it but i dont if u can like go up there an be like hey i wanna dyno run on my car

  • Baseline, 3 pulls is normally around 75$ depending on the shop and your area.

  • I like hondas a lot but I steered clear of buying an 06 SI because they have so little torque and the little that they do have is so high in the rev range.

  • i was so amazed by this car, i have the 4th gen i think the 2000 model. and i has a 1.6 4 cyl engine. i tot that was weak lol. then reasearced it and found out it produces 160 HP stock engine. now i am planing to put some turbos and all that stuff and i was wondoring if it is a godd 1/4 mile dragster. pls respond

  • I assume that is a b16 motor. Thats arguably the most supported Honda motor for aftermarket parts.

Everything is available for that motor. If you do it right you can get a 10 second car but you're talking $10,000+ in parts not to mention labor if you don't do it yourself.

A dragster can be made for cheaper with american muscle but if you want an import to romp on cars on the street, that car you have is the one I would do it with.

  • nice ride

  • Sounds mean with the test pipe. What was the baseline?

  • Surprisingly the baseline was the same. I have not dynod stock. It was a comparison for testpipe vs stock cat.

The test pipe did nothing for gains except at vtec engagement. If you've seen k20z3 dynos it dips about 10 whp before vtec engagement. The test pipe smoothed the transition out alot but ultimately ineffective for power gains.

I have raceheader and exhaust now and plan on redynoing in the summer. Thanks for looking!

  • sooooooo niceee

  • it sounds really great, but why the fuck have you got 10whp less than stock???.....

  • You do know that factory numbers are at the crank not at the wheels? Some HP is lost through the transmission.

    google it.

  • Thanks! Mind showing us what you drive?

  • Seriously? Did your mother drop you on your head while she was molesting you?

    GTFO

  • come to englishtown nj and we'll race pussy...dude you drive a civic si hahahahaha VTEC bro

  • Where does everyone meet in Englishtown, NJ?

  • Ouch wheres your torque?

  • are you serious? It's a Honda, homeslice. What is TQ? lol

  • I was joking. i know hondas have no TQ.

  • Guess you don't need alot of torque when you can rev to 8k, and the car is freggin light (for a sedan).

  • Nice car bro
