  • Dig it ; )

  • Hello Gerry Adams!

  • Wow, nicely done :)

It's hard to sing and play at the same time,so congrats!

    Leah x

  • Yeah. I can definitely feel both my bodhrán-playing and my singing abilities decrease when I try to do both simultaneously. But practice makes master, no? :)

Anyway, thank you for the kind words! They're appreciated. :)

  • Well played! :)

  • Thank you!

  • You're a damn good bodhran player!

  • Why, thank you!

  • Drunk?

  • No, not then, not now. But a few times in between. You?

  • Yes, often! lol.

  • Haha! Excellent! Well, cheers, then. :)

  • It's tricky to play and sing at the same time. You are doing a pretty good job.

I like your tone on the drum and your voice.

  • Freakin A, Man that is very good! Who is the maker of the bodhran? I love the tone!

  • It says on my profile I believe. But. Christian Hedwitschak. The skin is one of his "DRAGON Skins" and the drum itself is a GPS (Guido Plüschke Special). And it is very wonderful and lovely drum with a very wonderful and lovely tone. :D

And thank you. :) I do (I really do!) plan on recording more soonishly. I just have to not have so much whirling about in me head...

  • Ah yes, now I see.. (sorry) Thanks again my friend!

  • You're very much welcome. :)

  • wow this is awesome....subscribed!

  • Aw. Thank you! (And welcome (or something). :p)

Oh! Ohohoh! You're subscriber #10! :o Congratulations! :D (If that's something to be congratulated on. I'm not entirely sure. :))

  • Cool, number 101 eh? Well, that's special, for sure!

  • 101? If only! 10, it was. The last one's an exclamation mark. :p

I should probably get a new video out soon... I guess I'm just intimidated by all the excellent musicians out there... :/ But stay tuned! I have a few ideas...

  • lol, hey 101 isn't far behind, and you shouldn't be intimidated, this is a site for sharing!!

  • True. But. 40% of me subscribers are Irish, 30% are musicians (of some degree) themselves, and 40% again are fair lasses (if I knew what you looked like, I'm sure that'd be 50 ;) ... Sorry. >_>; ). All of those groups I find rather intimidating on their own... oh well. As I said, there will be something soonishly. Just... hold on. :)

  • Hehe, you called me a fair lass....giggle...

no rush, I'm here, I'm not leaving!

  • Wow your wrist must have been sore, you were just beating away, but it was fantatsic :), I loved it and it reminds me of back home in Ireland.

  • Heh. Thank you. :) My wrist wasn't sore (as I remember it), and if it was, I would need to seriously rethink me playing (style and/or technique). It's just like any other instrument (incl. singing): Play it wrong, and pay! Play it right... and, eh, delight! :D (Sorry. I'm so lame with words today. -.-)

  • look.your bodhran is good.you should find someone who plays whistle or something cos your singin is fuckin diabolical

  • Well, that's putting it on gently, eh? Unfortunately (for you), I'll keep on with the singing. If you'd noted the notes I've written, you'd see that there were several factors making this song rendition less-than-optimal.

Also, my girlfriend plays the tin whistle - but at the moment her whistling isn't as good as my singing (which this video shouldn't be used to measure it on (again, as noted)), even if she is progressing rather nicely. But I'll have videos up with me *and* other soon enough.

  • Bravo on the bodhran. Mine always sounds like Marylin Manson. I'll stick to the harp.

  • Heh. Well, your harp playing definitely sounds more confident than mine. The bodhrán, well, I've played on that a lot - and this new (since February) bodhrán from Christian Hedwitschak is simply a dream to play on and with! :D (*is in love with the new drum*)

  • I wasn't meaning your singing is bad. You have a pleasant voice. I have asthma, so I have very little ability to sing any more. I just can't get the wind up most of the time. I also tend to go flat. You stay on tune better than I do.

  • I just realised I never got around answering to this comment. (I have a thing for wanting the last word/comment. :p)

Anyway. Thank you. :) And due to the lessons I've started taken, I am even better on staying in tune now than I was when this was recorded, so I should probably do a new recording soon... also, in another four months, I'll (hopefully) have improved a lot again, so it would be nice for some intermediary recordings to mark my progress.

  • You are quite good at the Bodhrán. Nicely done. You are a better singer than me, though that isn't hard to be.

  • Heh. As I say in the comments, this isn't the best I can do singing - it has got next to none vocal support for one thing! But thank you re. the bodhrán, I do try to get better all the time. :) (And if you heard the recordings of me on spoons from almost four years ago now, well, you can definitely tell that my sense of rhythm has developed!)
