He ripped off a few bars the Boggie Woogie Kid's introduction that has been posted here on Youtube for years. Other than that, its a hack job..... itwould be clown stuff. I don't think he can keep the time solo.....
I saw this guy on PBS a few weeks ago. I just thought was an actor, not even British. Now I'm a fan, multi-talented to say the least. Check out St James Infirmary.
Hugh Laurie is awesome! He's multi-talented, he was awarded the OBE by highest OBE by the queen, also does tv in america as well as britain as well as stand up comedy.
Anyway, back to the music..I am so glad I discovered he does jazz/blues wk. I could, actually I prolly do, listen to his music for hours.
I didn't like this when I first heard it. It seemed a little over produced. I expected to be more in Fess's style. But it's grown on me. He made the song his own.
@vaeiou89 What kind of artist? The man can play an instrument, but he can't sing....watch his recording career go right in the crapper when House is done. It's too bad he is already a celebrity, because of House, otherwise people would be more honest with him.:(

@Jetdeck7 I disagree with you, in my opinion Hugh can sing(Blues, not some other genre). It sounds pretty good for my musical taste. Check some of his live performance.

Hugh Laurie was brilliant in Blackadder, A bit of Fry and Laurie, and is still brilliant in House and a great musician. He is truly a great man!
