@castlap - Sometimes i feel like writing a fan mail to mark - just to suggest just this.
If i won the lottery i would try and arrange a concert with PF and MK. Mark wrote that amazing track "on every street" but it cant be done without PF on steel - i have never even heard of another steel player even attempting it let alone doing it on stage
An awesome talent that keeps getting better and better with everything that he does. King Midas of music. Thanks for posting this video. H.P.H. ( Health, Prosperity and Happiness )
Pensa guitars, made in A music store in NY, close to Time Square. I've been there, I asked the boss if i could find pensa guitars in france, and he told me " I'm Rudy Pensa, friend of M.Knopfler, I design his guitars..." and then i knew...
At this time, Knopfler was playing with his friends Bredan Crocker and Steve Phillips : you can really touch the pleasure and the feelings. Paul Franklin is so good and inspired in his playing of pedal steel guitar ; listen to the solos!
Finally, I love the "BB King style" of this blues...
Wow! One of my earliest guitar heroes and so much better than the SNL version I have from years ago. What a shame that it was never officially released on a Dire Straits/Notting Hillbillies/MK solo album, but thank God for YouTube and Mark Knoplfer's guitar tone!!!!! I love Clapton, but Knopfler plays rings around Eric these days. Anyone know if there's a full video of Mark giving Richard Thompson the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards?
the way mark smiles at paul shows he´s really enjoying the pedal steel performance, awesome ---though i like the dire straits..this is 10 times better.........c yàll ronny
It's been a while since I've watched Mark play - way too long, as it turns out! My first 'guitar hero', though he'd decline that title, I'm sure. Beautiful playing ... almost languid, so smooth. Thanks Granada28!
Is there any where one can get an MP3 version of this particular song, exactly as performed here? Sure wish this had been included on the NH "Missing" CD, cause it's great!

Great blues solo style from Knopfler, indeed, but also from Paul Franklin on pedal steel guitar...
Dommage qu'elle n'ai jamais été enregistrée sur un album studio de Dire Straits ou de Mark Knopfler!
